I've been told by a few people that they hate seeing happy couples because it reminds them how shitty their own relationships are. I think there's a direct correlation here. People don't wanna read happy, feel good stuff all the time (unless they are happy and feel good) because it makes them think how shitty their own lives are.

I don't ever recall him saying in a video that he's above everyone else and doesn't complain about things like everyone else does, he's just being straight and telling it like it is. And he's usually, although not 100%, right.
well think about it, if our newspapers to make nothing but good news, us, the readers would feel like shit since everything is apparently better than our lives, however if the news is always bad stuff it kinda puts our lives into perspective and we wont feel like shit as much cause there is someone worse off than us

There's always an article in the newspaper/magazine I get (called The Week) titled "It wasn't all bad..." which lists a few of the week's happy stories - which I think is a great idea.
There is marriages. There could medicines and cures for deseases, movies coming out, politicians having lunch, speaches, new books, Sports weather It might be be hard to find and talk about but there is good news everywhere. Or maybe we don't need somebody to tell us the news. We could just live our lives and be happy.
There was a good news show, from Buffalo, New York, when I was a kid, but it didn't last long. The stories they covered were local; not really interesting global stuff.
It could also be something of a comfort zone issue. I can watch some terrible conflict or disease epidemic on the news and at least believe that I'm safe because I'm sitting at home away from it all.
Kinda reminds me of "Vicarious" by Tool, in that way.

There is marriages. There could medicines and cures for deseases, movies coming out, politicians having lunch, speaches, new books, Sports weather It might be be hard to find and talk about but there is good news everywhere. Or maybe we don't need somebody to tell us the news. We could just live our lives and be happy.

There was a good news show, from Buffalo, New York, when I was a kid, but it didn't last long. The stories they covered were local; not really interesting global stuff.

It could also be something of a comfort zone issue. I can watch some terrible conflict or disease epidemic on the news and at least believe that I'm safe because I'm sitting at home away from it all.
Kinda reminds me of "Vicarious" by Tool, in that way.

I guess it's too hard for people to accept that they are the cause of their own dissatisfaction. If they truly accepted that, then they would have to actually do something about it.
