  • bro your oil pressure was dropping if you notice in this video. i use to own one and my main issue with this car was the Oil Pressure and the Water Pump. Turns out i needed a high volume water pump and the oil pump kept snapping the oil pump shaft

  • 50+ at 2k is a lil to much for my likeing. 10lbs per 1000rpm is all u need.

  • yea it all depends on weight to hp ratio the lotus cars barely make 200 and some go over 200 but they don't weight too much so they are pretty quick cars.

  • it depends on the weight of the car, the gearing, and whos driving it.. the prelude is not really fast by any means but it could go toe to toe with the notorious 5.0. its all about power to weight ratio

  • most civics only have between 100-125hp unless its an si. prelude is pretty much the only other honda coupe that comes factory with 200hp

  • more like 165 hp but if you put type r stickers and a giant wing you can get at least 500hp...maybe 600 hp if you have led,s.

  • Youve got to be able to know how to use the torque before you can say it doesnt win races. I raced a bolt on ls1 from a dig 3 times and won once. I have stock heads & make 280whp/360wtq. He makes about 340+whp/???wtq. I have a 3.73 gears and he has stock. I have the gears for tq multiplication and I can shift fast. btw the other times he didnt pass me until about 80+ mph and we ran to 110-115 on the street from a dig. he has slicks, LT's full exhaust, pullies, short throw, suspension, intake etc

Yeah he pulls like a train on top, but if it takes till 120 mph to pass me whats the point? neither of us are trapping that in the 1/4. hp is very important it accounts for a lot of top end, but you need the torque to be able to have it pull hard in every gear.   • im not saying toriqw isnt important if you ar racing from 0-70 mph itll help alot. without a doubt. but im telling you after 70-75 its HP and gears not trq , it sa FACT that trq helps you off the line and HP and geasr win races. because if you say trq wins races i will tell you the s2000 "trqless wonder right"? beats a mustang GT with 260HP and 305lb og trq while the s2k has only 153. dont gimmie the bullshit its only 2880 lb while the stang is like 3k-3200. stop listening to shelby the moron

  • Dude, Im not saying hp isnt important. Obviously it is if the ls1 pulled on me up top like a train. Why? cause he had atleast 50 more hp at the wheels! Im not listening to anyone but myself and im speaking from experience. The stang is not 3k fuckin pounds either. my parents have a 2001 bullit and dry it weighed in at just under 3500lbs. The new ones are even heavier. The honda is 700lbs light with only 20hp less, yeah I think that weight makes up for the lack up power. The honda also revs 8k.

  • You and I both know, comparatively the honda is a dog vs the mustang in the low rpms, because of the torque. These two cars are set up to do totally opposite things. The honda is designed for the track, plain and simple = high revving, very light, and the power is all up top. You gonna drive around at 5k+ rpm just to be in the powerband on the street? dont think so. The stang makes torque off idle, aka stoplight warrior. I wouldnt argue the s2k being faster up top, but the stang wins on street.

  • that wasnt a 5.0 cobra engine. that was prolly just the intake plake or the intake itself from a cobra. the cobra 5.0 had a better intake, bigger injectors, GT40 heads and theres more and it all brung the 5.0 up to 235hp. some say that it was underrated though. the GT originally had 225hp but during the time of the 93 cobra it dropped to 205hp.

  • lets compare a 1989 tuned port injected 305 against a 302 h.o from a mustang! the 305 had 215hp/290ft-lbs (1989 iroc-z) a 1989 mustang 5.0 ho had 225/300ft-lbs! thats nearly the same thing... the camaro was a LITTLE slower cuz they weight more but they handles much more than a mustang!

  • The 1985 Mustang GT's were sold as Mustang GT Cobra's in Canada. I own one, as did my dad who bought his in 85' FACTORY DIRECT from ford. Just remeber American = GT... Canada = GT Cobra. So as far as I care, or anyone else cares, they will be known as the Mustang GT Cobra. Id post pics, but youtube doesnt allow links.
