Funny coachhrothgar449, I said exactly the same thing about the eighties music during the transition from the late 70's into the early eighties with MTV.

MTV killed talent and the record companies glommed onto catchy videos and the music died which led to no-talent hip-hop, rap trash.

There are talented musicians out there but they don't get noticed because the record companies aren't selling music anymore they're selling attitude and a bad one at that.

@howdyfeller - Right. I actually thought Nirvana was OK; their songs, though "grunge", had melody. Stone Temple Pilots were good too. No Doubt too. Your right. The industry cycles bands out after 2 maybe 3 albums, and I think the bands accept it. So many bands that the industry uses and then trashes them; consequently, they don't have to be that good. The fast cycle promotes mediocrity and lack of creativity. Every new band sounds something like that one which just got cycled out.
