  • heard this today on the radio! it's a pretty good song :)

  • One of the BEST

  • i like classic music very much!Everytime I think of you is one of my favorites!....

  • Why do you hate today's music? There is more than just hip hop david guetta and the black eyed pease. You guys don't look good enough!

  • fuckin' awesome! thats all i gotta say!

  • Lol why do people listen to this old stuff when we have Justin Bieber? He's so much better!

  • @Linus117 Why? Because in about 20 yrs. someone will be saying the same thing to you when you're listening to Justin Bieber then too you'll have memories of your era. It will be "old stuff" someday......

  • @Linus117

Are you fucking kidding? JB is NO where near the class of these guys. He fucking wishes he could be this good. JB is a fucking NOTHING compared to these guys

  • @Linus117

Don't even mention that Bieber puke here. there's NO comparison. His so called music will be forgotten in a few years while CLASSICS like this will be played when Bieber's back with the earth.

  • I fxxxing hate it when I can hear this song from the Radio over and over agin... it'd be a great song to me if I could listen to it only when I want to!!!

Radio stations in Australia should seriously think about improvement.

  • happy bday baby!

  • This just kills: me. At the time I did not know that this tune, as well as john Waite, impregnated my thoughts with the sublime force of this song. Classic, it moves me so!!!

  • Cathy this was and still is our song. Thank you for all the countless blessed memories. It was an honor to Love you and be Loved by you. Your passing was way to soon and you were to young but your very much alive in my thoughts and in my heart. REST IN PEACE ANGEL!

  • Definitely some mistakes that change the meaning of the lyrics. Edit it and it will be a good one.

  • sure brings back memories !!!..

  • If you're going to post a lyrics video, please make sure you have the lyrics exactly right. I can hear lots of little mistakes in there.

  • This music is the best! Lyrics are retarded, but that's okay. Today we have bad music AND lyrics.

  • I have an 8mm of John performing this song live, back in 1978. I'll find it and post it. I wrote this song for John... wow, talk about memories. I was still in high school.

  • LOVE this song ....

  • Who are the 7 people with no music taste what so ever? This is such a great song!

  • Love music before autotune. John Waite is a very underrated vocalist. Love this song.

  • Funny coachhrothgar449, I said exactly the same thing about the eighties music during the transition from the late 70's into the early eighties with MTV.

MTV killed talent and the record companies glommed onto catchy videos and the music died which led to no-talent hip-hop, rap trash.

There are talented musicians out there but they don't get noticed because the record companies aren't selling music anymore they're selling attitude and a bad one at that.

  • @67buick350 I couldn't have said(written) it better myself!

  • @67buick350 Sad thing is now at 60 years old the Soft Rock Adult Contemporary music even in the early to mid 1980's has Soul to it compared to the garbage that came out since the mid 1990's with the Autotune garbage. Kids today cant sing without depending on their very lives with God forsaken Autotune.

  • @67buick350 Hear!, Hear! ...The TRUTH!! ...You nailed it, guy!!...

  • @67buick350 Gee, I'm 20 and I happen to enjoy the music that's being produced today. Do I like Top 40? Not particularly. But there's a lot of great music being made today that is doing very well. The internet has made it easier than ever for good music to gain exposure. I think the real problem is that your ears did not adapt to quickly changing styles. You don't like our music today, and I probably won't like my kids' music tomorrow. Don't blame the maaannnn, man.

  • @SclafaniBagni hi Im way older than you which does not make me wiser but no my ears are good and your just wrong most music today isnt that good

  • @MrJims23 You certainly don't seem wiser than I, judging by your awful syntax. And how can I show proper respect for elders who insist that my opinion on music today is simply 'wrong?'

  • @67buick350 Right the fuck on!!!!!

  • "G" a love like ours will and has always held on throughout every season for only 2 reasons. Your heart in my hand and mine in yours! Bella

  • @67buick350 lobe the babys!

  • @67buick350 They are selling sex. Women and men who look good, but can't sing or write music.

  • That was fun. The best they ever did. Thank you for posting.

  • So beautiful, for all of us who truely believe in peace and stability for all the world!

  • They're album was named "The Babys: Coming Out Head First - Hell yes to the Rock gods!!!

  • Why is it we think of that special person more now than we did then? Why didn't we get warned about falling in love and relating to music? My god I'm getting old but, I still love this music . The 70's music frigging rules.

  • EVERYTIME I THINK OF YOU I WANNA KICK YOUR ASS!!

  • @angel2rx lol i've had those feelings! :)

  • @kurtawe: :(

  • LOVE THIS SONG! I PLAY THE BASS & SING ,I WANT TO LEARN THIS SONG.

  • Johnny's my favorite singer :)

  • People say a love like ours will surely pass but I know a love like ours will last and last...........................and that's the way I feel about John Waite and his vocals!..... It may have something to do with my childhood passion with the Baby's, maybe, but, it is all well worth hearing over and over and over and over again. Everytime I think of you it always turns out good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'll never stop loving this song <3

  • Petra, Thank you for posting this video. You have just took be back to a time when I was younger and things were better. Im so glad there are people like you that are keeping this music alive. And it makes me feel alive. Post more........

  • I so love this song, but that video of John singing Isn't it Time freaked me out!

  • I counted 5 mistakes in the lyrics -

Lyrics correction 1 @ 0:52 JW doesnt sing `But then I wasnt wrong in knowing how...` - He actually sings `But I wasnt wrong not knowing how...`

Lyrics correction 2 @ 1:49 JW doesnt sing"And baby I was wrong" . He actually sings "But maybe I was wrong"

    Further lyric mistakes @ 1:51, 1:56 , 3:00

  • been 8 months since a post to this amazing inspirational music, luv luv luv it . baby

  • Such a beautiful song. I love John Waite's voice.

  • 70s had the best music and i meet my lovely wife love the 70s.

  • One thing what I don't understand is why couldn't they been as huge as Foreigner, REO Speedwagon and Journey? They were just as great as the aforementioned bands

  • I graduated from high school in 1979, so this is my favorite music, i miss those days...wish The Baby's would tour!!!

  • @andrewlukenichols299 That I couldn't agree with you more, I pretty much loved everything that came out prior to when Nirvana came out with "Smells Like Teen Spirit"

  • This is from fall of 79 not late 80s

  • great job thank you

  • rare song to find, thanks.

  • 7th grade school dance. Dancing with Kelly with her very blonde hair. Perfect moment

  • A truly wonderful track produced by one of my favorites Ron Nevison. 5 stars.

  • Are you Ron Nevison's fan?

Well, I'd like to recommend you listen to "Broken Heart".

This is The Babys 2nd album.

    This album is awesome!!!

  • Lots of great songs came out in the year 1979----this was one of them!!!!

  • get song for a rainy friday nite....especially after a joint

  • Good song.

  • One of my favorites! I agree with all here you hate todays music. Alot of things suck in today's world.

  • @huntingun1

you can look it that way, or you can look at the good things that today's life brought you...

  • Always loved the big, brassy accompaniment on this song (as well as its 'sister' song "Isn't It Time"). It certainly makes the song go! Thanks for sharing.

  • 1979!!!

  • awesome song wish icould go back inthe 80's. such a better place then!!:)

  • No apostrophe.

  • Beautiful song, I hate the music of today. Plastic trash bags is what it is!

  • So many people have said that, unfortunately it is pretty much the truth. Music is to formulated and soulless these days.

  • The Baby's were wonderful. Always loved John's voice.

  • you should hear cj shelton sing this, fantastic

  • I remember when this song came out on the airwaves. Great song, great memories ...thanks 70s!!

  • great music, I loved The Babys takes me back to my haydays...

  • John knows that we love him. : )

  • Great song, I used to get this song and "Isn't it Time" (another killer song) mixed up when I was younger

  • this blows away today music

  • hey but what about lil kim and P Diddy?? Jus jokin! yeah today sucks bad.

  • @spiritualaccent It sure does. It's like they just forgot how to write real music. John Waite is brilliant: and that voice! If you haven't seen him recently, you have to.

  • @spiritualaccent

    Ain't that the TRUTH!!!!!

  • @spiritualaccent ok doosher

  • Awesomenesss :D

  • It's amazing that I get nostalgic from an era in which I was barely cognizant of.

  • There's no apostrophe in THE BABYS.

  • WHO CARES!

  • I do, Twit.

  • You are absolutely right, and thanks for telling the uploader of his/her boo boo.

You'd think they would research a little before they uploaded.

    Cheers kbreenbo.

  • It's reminiscent of the "supposed" fans who don't even take the time to spell names properly. I wish I had a penny for every time I saw "Led Zepplin" (sic) spelled thusly!

  • I heard this on the radio today, have'nt heard it in YEARS and it totally made my day! What a great song.

  • amazing! seen them back in '79 opening for kiss.... that song just awesome.... gotta hit it one more time :)

  • I recall seeing them back up Styx in Sept 79, were they touring with both bands back then?

  • Brilliant - thanx for a great song and arrangement!

  • This reminds me of music. People writing, actually playing instruments, performing. There was passion and soul and fun. Too bad music had to die in the late 90's... even worse that it was replaced by phony, manufactured, no-talent garbage...

  • I think it was the synergy between humans. Something magical happens. Now you've got digital this, digital that, sampling everything in sight, auteurs cloistered in home studios cooking up soulless ditties. Something has been lost in this headlong rush to digitizing. We're on a train, it seems; but headed where?

  • @coachhrothgar449

Coach...I agree with you...but I say it was the late 80's when music died...

  • @coachhrothgar449 Agree 100% with your assessment.

My thoughts on that are it is just another phase of manipulation by media and corporate brainwashing. Fill the youth with angst, hate, disconnection and manufactured sounds and programming. I really feel sorry for the youth of America and around the world

  • @howdyfeller -- That's right. Today's kids are going to grow up not having known good music in their own lifetime. They'll have to look back to the time before they were born, if they're willing to, and so many kids aren't willing to.

  • @57highland Its funny because I remember when all these flash in the pan, 15 minutes of fame artists started. In the 90s the big rave was Alternative Music, Nirvanna, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, etc. Does anyone even listen to those bands anymore? They were a few years of stardom and dissappeared as fast as Shaun Cassidy. The Industry just throws these bands away like trash, there is no longevity.

  • @howdyfeller - Right. I actually thought Nirvana was OK; their songs, though "grunge", had melody. Stone Temple Pilots were good too. No Doubt too. Your right. The industry cycles bands out after 2 maybe 3 albums, and I think the bands accept it. So many bands that the industry uses and then trashes them; consequently, they don't have to be that good. The fast cycle promotes mediocrity and lack of creativity. Every new band sounds something like that one which just got cycled out.

  • @57highland Not...tehehe

  • @coachhrothgar449 I have often said the same thing.....I grew up in the 80's and graduated in 94....by 1999, music went to pots...I am finding myself liking some of the newer stuff but I have to search high and low for the talented artists.....most songs that are written anymore all sound like a factory based song...true passion is gone....and I sure hope a newer generation will some how revive the passion

  • @coachhrothgar449 Can't agree more. Altough there are some exceptions of good music, but most of it is crap.

  • @coachhrothgar449 agree

  • @coachhrothgar449

I rant and rave on here about the same thing...and sometimes I wonder why....I guess I'm just passionate about music...actual music...just like you. My best friend and I were discussing the decline of music the other day...but we've got youtube, itunes, our cd/record collections (I found this album(in impeccable condition at that) at a 2nd hand store last year...now I need to get a turntable..which I haven't had in nearly 20 years...lol

  • @vivandav67 Amen! I'm lucky to still have a turntable, and lots of LP's and 45's. Matter of fact.....I think I'm gonna dust off the old Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon album and play it right now! lol! I'm lucky to have the CD of the Baby's and play it often too!

  • @coachhrothgar449 my husband and I have wondered if a lot of the music of our times would be a hit now....I tell him that it would probably be a hit today, if it was rap music....sad!!! Glad that we grew up at a time where musicians did write and sing with passion, soul and fun!!

  • @coachhrothgar449 settle down

  • One of the great Oldies

  • gutes handwerk . klasse . das gelbe vom ei ....

  • Damn!! Makes me want to marry again........

  • good memories

  • Great memories. A very happy period of my life. Thanks for the post.

  • I love the song more than that, my first real love. And I thought I was so grown up back then. And why is there no longer MUSIC like this in the world?

  • I agree!

  • Great song!

    yeahhh!

  • great song, rocked my ass off

  • Great song!Thanks.

    HH

  • GREAT!

  • This is one of my all time favorites, a beautiful piece of music. Love the way it builds to a crescendo near the 3:00 minute mark.

  • As lrock love songs go , there are few better, Thanks for the post

  • every time i review my long list of favorite songs from the late '70s, this song always winds up being at the top - the babys own

  • I adore this song since my childhood, inclusive in 1979... with this song I remember a pretty girl that I like her so much, but I was child and too shy.

  • I notice that there's a 16th note triplet part in the trombones that starts at 3:06.

    Another great 70's song.

I wish that there was a radio station that would play NOTHING except the 1000 highest or longest charting songs from between January of 1969 and say September of 1979 or so.

I would listen to it more than 5 hours a day every single day of the year.

  • great music. not that rap shit or thatnirvana bullshit. this is great music

  • Absolutely. Among the greatest music ever on earth.

  • thank.

    you.

    for.

  • I haven't heard this song since I was a child!!!

  • This video gets 3 thumbs up: it's a nice video of a catchy tune with happy romantic words! Thank you for the video!
