Először angolul akartam írni, de láttam hogy magyar feltöltés ezért úgy gondoltam legalább 1 magyar komment legyen itt :)

  • lateef crowder should go to NINJA WARRIOR

  • viva capoeiraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa xd

  • me gusta mucho el arte de la capoera

  • anyone happen to know the name of this song?

  • The guys at the movie industry is fucking up this man's talent.

  • Lateef Crowder is a Capoeira genius and I'd give any thing to be be trained by him

  • Crowder é o melhor na capoeira...quando é que eles vão convida-lo para fazer um filme no qual ele seja o protagonista?

  • One kich by lateef n u r OUT .. :P

  • Is Lateef going to get any leading role soon? I want to see him in a starring role in a capoeira movie!

  • this looks like a dance of death...it seems to me it deals with breaking the opponents legs :o

  • Lateef is a legend and a Capoeirista of talent. The difference between Capoeira and other martial arts is that Capoeira is a game as much as it is a fight, and Lateef has the skill to make a game look like a fight and keep a Capoeira flow with contact kicks. You gotta go to a Batizado to understand what Lateef brings to the table, but rest assured its a good cake

  • Whats the name of the song?

  • @1pk1

If you didn't find it by now its Killing Spree by Swollem Members.

  • undisputed 3

  • @coulturista I have to see that movie

  • Who cares if Capoeira isn't that effective against this style if you can do that ish your fucken cool. For me I love this martial art Because of its history and its amazing moves.

  • Capoeira is very effective if it's used right, and not by a cocky asshole. Just like a lot of Asian martial arts, it's very disciplined. But then again, all martial arts are effective, just depends who's using it. Which is why it angers me that Hollywood likes to glorify MMA as being the most efficient style (even though it's mixed), and make Capoeira seem useless. Never Back Down is a good example. They have a cocky asshole making a fool of himself when a true Capoeirista doesn't show off.

  • @JacksonShredder18 it was never surrend that was the movie and dude its not that its a bad martial arts it just that a single mix martial arts fighter dosent posses the adaptation of a mma fight bruce lee not holly proved and started this not just by his movies but he would enter nation tournaments for fighting styles he just started and beat expert who been doin the shit for a year he beat the east asia boxing champion and won a us tempo karate tournament he was a fucking beast

  • @TinyTitian When you really get down to it, MMA is just a mixture of a few martial arts at the black belt level. Which means it's a mixture of basics from multiple martial arts that the fighter has mastered. The more effective martial arts training is past black belt where you earn merits. And the belting system is a joke nowadays with modern martial arts because anybody can get a black belt within a year. The belting system is marketing tool now, and passes off an image and persona. Not skill.

  • @JacksonShredder18 supprised u were able to read dat sorry bout da typos and it depends my mix martial arts trainer teaches us all different martial arts depending on are skill set instead of the traditional martial arts every other mix martial artis, also the head coach literaly has mastered alot of forms of martial arts, the second coach used to be a all dujutsu guy, and im perfecting my boxing in my boxing career also , so in a since were becomin real martial artis as bruce lee invisioned

  • @JacksonShredder18 intead of da bullshit u see on ufc or any other mma show were they all learn da same shit and use da same basics the original goal of martial arts as bruce lee invisioned was to find your own fighting style now just mix the basics of a bunch of shit

  • @JacksonShredder18 Never Back Down is karate kids for pussies.

  • @JacksonShredder18

I try to tell my Dad the same thinig. He thinks Capoeira is just a dance and I'm telling him, there's more to it than that. I like the fact that any kind of music can be used for capoeira and like you said, 'it's all about who's using the style, not the style itself'.

  • @JacksonShredder18 check this dude MMA - Capoeira vs. Kickboxer on youtube

  • @lotus479 check this dude "capoeira 20 sec knock out" on youtube

  • @JacksonShredder18 your right, martial arts is a discipline not something some cocky dickhead who street fights and knocks out a few other arrogant punks. I took kendo for 4 years, and being an american i can say, that it is not easy, the tole it takes on you makes you think, god damn! how hard must someone have had to fight back in those days. The honor in martial arts isnt around much these days. Which is why i want to travel and learn different martial arts.

  • @JacksonShredder18

Hehe, atleast capoeira got a big role in Never Back Down 2 - And is powerful! :)

  • nice moves!

  • My man!!!!

  • You know... after rewatching this video for the first time in a long time... I can't really call Lateef a Capoeira genius. He's certainly talented. But if you want genius level skills... you need to go look at Ido Portal. Dude is the truth...

  • Maybe not...but I bet you Lateef doesn't care. And he's laughing all the way to the bank cuz he's working so much in the entertainment industry, that Ido can only wish he'd be in Lateef's shoes.

  • Oh don't get me wrong! I dig both of them like crazy! No disrespect to Lateef!

But after watching interviews by Ido, he gives off this "I don't care about material possesions" vibe... lol I dunno though. They're both really good.

  • Perhaps you'd change your mind if you actually know Lateef. He is very humble and just as friendly.

  • I was simpling commenting on the vid's tagline of "Capoeira Genius" and stating that his skill is great, but not 'genius' level, IMO. In comparison, Ido Portal is doing some revolutionary things with capoeira all while staying true to the art's core values and themes. That is genius to me.

Second thought, though... Lateef's choreography between users of other martial arts really shouldn't be discounted. I'll conceed that they are just different types of geniuses...

  • After this creation "Benguela" ,M. Bimba creats S. Bento Grande(fast and flying), Iuna(when a master dies or when a master "borns").M Bimba wanst just a master he was a builder of mans

  • Well that's fine. Angolieros have a different view of his 'additions' to Capoeira. But that's all good. It's all beautiful. The point is that if you follow the lineages back far enough, you will find that someone from Africa taught someone in Brazil what would eventually grow into what we now know as Capoeira.

  • well yes i agree with that, but you must agree to in the point that if it wanst brasil, capoeira angola probably had desapeared by now. you didnt see capoeira in north american slavery for example.

I am a student of both styles because here in portugal a capoeirista simply must know the roots of the art(this idea shoul be in general).

  • Oh certainly I agree with that 100%. Many of us simply want Capoeira's African roots to be realized. But yes, Brasil nurtured it and allowed it to grow into what it is today.

  • Also, some one said that Capoeira is Brazilian because you don't see any old evidence of it in any other countries. This is not true. There were 2 very similar style yet different styles in Cuba and the southeastern U.S. I forget their names, but both styles are nearly dead at this point.

  • Hold on!M. Bimba didint "mixed" other marcial arts to create capoeira regional. He learned Capoeira Angola for 12 years with Bentinho but he thought the Angola have evolved to much folklore more than defense so he introduced "Batuque" or "batuque boi" that his father was the best than M.Bimba creats the third note in the rithm of the berimbau to speed up creating a new kind of "game".

  • I will also add this: the African origins of Capoeira are unmistakeable. However, it did not exist in the form that we see today. Those Afican cultural teachings were all thrown together due to slavery and eventually what WE know as Capoeira rose out of that.

  • Wherever i read... i see that capoeira was created in Brazil. Brazialian slaves were counted as Brazilian citizens. Yes capoeira is based on african rituals, dances and battle styles, but was allso based mostly on the fact that slaves had to fight with their arms tied up when they escape away from their masters.

In other words, it doesnt matter how you see it, capoeira is a Brazilian martial art. Even its culural part was created in Brazil, totaly diferent from african stuff.

  • Perfect Eddy Gordo

  • og he so sexy ha

  • slut

  • Personally, I believe that all martial arts are useful, but it may take modifications for today's world. Capoeira, I can see for escaping and intimidation or catching the opponent off guard more than actually landing an au malandro (L-kick) or armada dupla. No martial art truely takes even having a high ranking belt to be considered good. I took Bando for a measly 6 months, but learned 12 punches/strikes, 9 kicks, and 8 blocks. More than what karate taught.

  • what is bando?

  • It's a Burmese martial art that looks similar to karate, external Chinese shit, and kickboxing/muay thai (didn't learn any knees or elbows, but the roundhouse kick is done similar). Not a lot of videos here that shows it, but you wear black outfits similar to the gi.

  • This clip is copied more then 10 times with same music..

Music is Killing Spree from Swollen Members

  • capoira 100% brazil

  • no it isnt. capoeira is 80% AFRICA 20% Brasil. read a book. they were african slaves doing capoiera before they were enslaved and brought to South America

  • So Blues is also 20% USA?

  • African slaves helped make America the strongest country in the world once again READ A BOOK. since blues was made in the USA and never left your comment doesnt stand dumbass, either way, both Capoeira and Blues were primarily structured under African influence.

  • ``both Capoeira and Blues were primarily structured under African influence``

No doubt, but if no one denies the Blues being from USA, why negate Capoeira being from Brazil? It was developed by African slaves that never left Brazil just as well and all of their Brazilian decendants kept training in it.

Capoeira is just as Brazilian as Karate is Japanese, and we are all very proud of it, dumbass.

  • fist off "dumbass" karate was started in japan by japanese people so your analogy is flawed "dumbass" second, capoeira known to the world today was in Brazil yes but its roots are AFRICAN im not negating any credit just dont say its "brazillian" its not its african and practiced in brazil. HOWEVER the Capoeira lifestyle is 100% Brazillian and i think that is where the Confusion starts. people say capoeira as an art and mean the lifestyle.

  • It's you who should read a book. Karate was not started in Japan but in Okinawa, an island that has it's own culture and language and that only became part of Japan much later. Also, the Okinawans created it by influence of Chinese Kung Fu - hence the original name "Chinese Hand".

Capoeira was created by Africans, but when they were in Brazil as it reflects their condition of slaves (tied hands, for instance).

  • just because something was created in a country does not make it FROM there when it was created by people who are not native to the country and brought there AGAINST THEIR WILL. Africans were enslaved long before 1573. Tied hands of portuguese enslaved africans slaves are not a linear argument buddy, Bottom Line its roots are African therefore it is AFRICAN, change the language and the majority of the people then it becomew AFRO-brazillian. still. its AFRICAN so deal with it......"dumbass"

  • The creators of Capoeira are the ones we are talking about. Sure, they were here against their will, but they never returned. Their descendants are Brazilian just as the art they created here.

Capoeira is Brazilian. The name of the moves are in Portuguese. The art is tied to Brazilian History and its heroes, like Zumbi dos Palmares. The most famous masters are from Brazil. Foreigners come to Brazil to learn it. You can call it African Brazilian if you want it, but it is Brazilian.

  • jesus christ....when they were freed it was AFTER they fought for that land. I wouldnt leave if i fought for it either. and the history of these people was erased once they were enslaved. what is known as the Capoeira lifestyle is Brazillian but the creators of the Dance/martial art ARE AFRICAN therefore the dance is African and the Art is African. Simple as that. once everything was documented and legal it was all in portuguese yes but that doesnt make it Brazillian... DEAL WITH IT

  • First off, the slavery was only totally abolished in Brazil in 1888. The ones that fought for it (and they didn't won) were born in Brazil, and many of them had been fathered by Brazilian men.

It's you who have to deal with the fact that it is Afro-Brazilian. Many other countries had African slaves and none of them have anything similar to Capoeira. As I said, the art is tied to Brazilian History just as the Blues to USA or Karate to Japan, even if the first generation of all of those weren't.

  • The theory that Capoeira was born in Brazil is false. Studying the anthropology of the West African areas will teach you the reason why the Africans in Brazil fought with their legs while the hands are often planted on the ground. That custom is cultural, indiginous to that region of Africa and pre-dated slavery. Also, the theory the Capoeira was developed by slaves who had to fight with their hands bound is rediculous. Have you have tried Capoeira w/ your hands bound? Your defense is halved.

  • Citing famous Brazilian Mestres is not evidence that Capoeira was born in Brazil. The 2 most famous mestres of all time are Pastinha and Bimba. Both of them practiced the Angola style up until Bimba decided to introduce elements from other martial arts, creating the Regional style. No one knows who taught Bimba. But Angoleiros know the father to their style. In honor of the man who taught his style of Capoeira, Pastinha named the style 'Angola' bcuz thats where his mestre Benedito was from.
