how many good memories with his songs. Remind of my father who use to play his songs with clarinet. lots of Nostalgia and wish we could take back those time from this regime.
As long as the blood is flowing through the veins of sincere iranians, the sacred powerful voices like Vigen will never stop touching these running rivers like rays of the sun forming those dancing clouds. These dancing clouds will be streaming down the faces, filling the seas and oceans of love across the earth and therefore Vigen will never die.
first of all, this is his first song, and as he mentioned it always, he was 18 or 19 when he performed it in radio introduced by Dr. Vahidi who found him sitting by the see and singing with an instrument he never saw before, Guitar.
and i used to talk to him too. around 3 times a week. i know many things about him, and who ever gets to know this man, cannot easily forget that he truly was a man.
@az1zcolumbi If this was his first song, no wonder he made so many albums. I do not understand much of Farsi but, Vigen has such voice that turned me on first time I heard him!
oh memories of this song when I was just a teenager back in Iran are still with me. I am sure his voice will make many sweet memories for generations to come. RIP knowing that your voice will always with us.
very beautiful song, i would really appreciate if someone can translate it for me, i'm considering making it my wedding slow dance song, but I want to be sure of the lyric meaning first:)
the lyrics basically talk about how moonlight always accompanies lovers, lightens the sky, etc... and for the case of the singer, the moonlight had been the only witness for him and his lover being together, making love, etc...the lyrics are perfect for a wedding since it's all about moonlight and love...I wish that helped and I hope you have a wonderful wedding...
Great singers/artists produce pieces that are timeless and that is characteristics of them. Listening to this Music one can not easily say when it was sang !

This is truely a masterpiece and one of the best songs of all times!
Viguen with his magical voice has captured the souls of Iranian people. Viguen is alive in the hearts and minds of millions of Iranians (and of course Armenians) around the world.
vigen jan yeranier an siron orer,,, God bless your soul,,,, misht yes kezi gieshem,,, sorry i had to write few words in armenian,,,Bravo be vigen jan,,, afarin behesh,,,
Until the late 1990's in the US, getting anything by Vigan was next to impossible. In 1976 I finally got a copy of a copy of a cassette - Completely blew me away! Later I was a manager at Oxford II Books in Atlanta, and would play it in the store, to much public interest, and sometimes saw groups of Iranians come to me with tears in their eyes and blessings on their lips. Peace

didn't he brought the drums ?! thats why he was king of drums !! god bless his soul.
allendavoode 9 months ago
@allendavoode
not true. As he mentioned a lot in his interviews, in Iran, Drums were called Jazz, and were not in use at all in Persian music.
Viguen started a new music generation, with arrangements including guitar and drums, which was close to western music.
He was called King of Jazz for the first time by Tehran-e-Mosavvar, the Magazine, by Abbas Pahlavan.
Enjoy
