According to Federal Election Commision data, among the top PAC contributors to the Barack Obama 2008 presidential election campaign were the following financial industry companies at the following dollar amounts:
I think we must make our law enforcement pure and make it illegal for anyone to give them money. It is no different than giving a judge money, it is bribery. WE need to pay them well, make sure they have all the right benefits, protect them in every way and keep the criminals from having access. It is important. Let's make them OUR POLICE and take very good care of them. Then the elite would be screwed.
@bigotmaster Not necessarily. Banks are charging us interest on money that they are simply given. They are making giant sums of money that could belong to taxpayers. The business of money should belong to the people. Search YT for State banks and No. Dakota. they have a state bank and a 700 million dollar state surplus because the money made on lending is owned by the people of No Dakota not a private international elite that have no allegiance to America what so ever.
Direct Democracy is about giving people back their legislative power. Instead of electing representatives in Congress, we represent ourselves online via an open source platform enabling people to introduce, repeal, debate and vote the laws that govern the country. Thirteen Observations made by Lemony Snicket while watching Occupy Wall Street from a Discreet Distance
1. If you work hard, and become successful, it does not necessarily mean you are successful because you worked hard, just as if you are tall wit h long hair it doesn’t mean you would be a midget if you were bald.
2. “Fortune” is a word for having a lot of money and for having a lot of luck, but that does not mean the word has two definitions.
@tarjay35 3. Money is like a child—rarely unaccompanied. When it disappears, look to those who were supposed to be keeping an eye on it while you were at the grocery store. You might also look for someone who has a lot of extra children sitting around, with long, suspicious explanations for how they got there.
4. People who say money doesn’t matter are like people who say cake doesn’t matter—it’s probably because they’ve already had a few slices.
@tarjay35 5. There may not be a reason to share your cake. It is, after all, yours. You probably baked it yourself, in an oven of your own construction with ingredients you harvested yourself. It may be possible to keep your entire cake while explaining to any nearby hungry people just how reasonable you are
@tarjay35 6. Nobody wants to fall into a safety net, because it means the structure in which they’ve been living is in a state of collapse and they have no choice but to tumble downwards. However, it beats the alternative.
7. Someone feeling wronged is like someone feeling thirsty. Don’t tell them they aren’t. Sit with them and have a drink.
8. Don’t ask yourself if something is fair. Ask someone else—a stranger in the street, for example.
@tarjay35 9. People gathering in the streets feeling wronged tend to be loud, as it is difficult to make oneself heard on the other side of an impressive edifice.
10. It is not always the job of people shouting outside impressive buildings to solve problems. It is often the job of the people inside, who have paper, pens, desks, and an impressive view.
@tarjay35 11. Historically, a story about people inside impressive buildings ignoring or even taunting people standing outside shouting at them turns out to be a story with an unhappy ending.
12. If you have a large crowd shouting outside your building, there might not be room for a safety net if you’re the one tumbling down when it collapses.
@tarjay35 13. 99 percent is a very large percentage. For instance, easily 99 percent of people want a roof over their heads, food on their tables, and the occasional slice of cake for dessert. Surely an arrangement can be made with that niggling 1 percent who disagree
@tarjay35 The elite know nothing but exploitation. They are inbred and have even lost their talent for stealing with any kind of plausible cover. Just a few too many generations of pampered rich running the rackets.
@tarjay35 yeah like all the born rich international elite forcing bail outs from taxpayers and fraud on working people baked their own cakes. These people can't do anything but steal, they've proved it.

@watertonrivers It's been obvious for decades. Emperor's clothes stuff that the sheep are suppose to just accept. Totally display by both parties what they really think of the people. God help Elizabeth Warren. She's gonna need it.
@watertonrivers DUh a child could see it. Everybody knew. The working people of this country have known what was going on since W's first term but no one gave a damn about what was happening to poor and working people. Then the rich cast a wider and wider net doing the same thing to more and more people and captured the middle class.
@watertonrivers How can you disagree with a statement of fact. The fact stands as Prof. William Black says here that "the FBI warned over 7 years ago that there was an epidemic of mortgage fraud and predicted the (housing bubble collapse) economic crisis ."
Prosecute the fraud. Fire the revolving door appointments. Remove the systemic risk by downsizing the too big to fail.

@zaggy3110 That it. We have to do something about the next election. Elite candidate 1 or Elite candidate 2 is just going to be us losing the whole point. Neither of the two, Obama or a REpub reject will be anything but a defeat for the 99
I'm for a paradigm shift...remove the whole system. Economics, Government , Energy and Education. It has no place in this new society we are heading toward.
Would be interesting to ask Black if he agrees left/right has nothing to do with it. After all, it's been in no small part, the efforts of right-wing think tanks over the past 30 years that have pushed our financial and political systems to where they are now. More corp control. Increased profits, but not wages. Wall St casino. Warmongering.
Most actual lefties (ie not democrats) are against this crap.
I think, the protests started off on the right path. But, have now been overrun by communists/socialists. There is no way out of what they have set for us.
@illuminatijews There are ways out.. One is to endorse a completely unaffiliated to either party presidential candidate and make it happen. First, don't rely on the elite owned vote counting system.
@HeilLoki They don't suck, suck means they fail at the job - they don't, they are doing an Excellent/Exceptional job, the job is ripping off the working class to protect the elites who paid for their election.
Obama will have an election war chest of $1Billion and the people who give the money own the victor.
i agree with a lot of the stuff Mr Degraw is saying but he made a comment that this corruption problem has been going on since the Clinton administration i beg to differ this problem has been going on since the presidency of Woodrow Wilson in the creation of the federal reserve system and even before that so please do some research and find the ROOT cause of the problem its the facilitator of all the corruption all the debt its the the federal reserve system end the fed and fix the problem
250BOYCOTT We're declaring our homes sacred sovereign ground & ALL HOMES as Human Sanctuary. WE'RE DECLARING IT! We're not waitng for a 'legal system" that props up bank/corp/rule! We don't need permission to change OUR society. We're co-opting this very real momentum to change the priorities of our shared economic system to meet our SHARED NEEDS FIRST! The FIRST thing we need to to do is BAN Home mrtg/rent WORLDWIDE PERMANENTLY.250BOYCOTT backed by Declarationof Sovereignty on my wordpress blog
There still not getting to the crux of the problem: CENTRAL BANKS, most notably, THE FED, which has a monopoly on printing money and manipulating interest rates in order to give their cronies cheap money.
Support Ron Paul's "competition in currencies act" which would legalize any currency as legal tender which and eventually crush the Fed's monopoly power.
i agree with a lot of the stuff Mr Degraw is saying but he made a comment that this corruption problem has been going on since the Clinton administration i beg to differ this problem has been going on since the presidency of Woodrow Wilson in the creation of the federal reserve system and even before that so please do some research and find the ROOT cause of the problem its the facilitator of all the corruption all the debt its the the federal reserve system end the fed and fix the problem
This country has never had REAL FREE TRADE! The government has their greedy little fingers in everything, regulating down to the dumbest bureaucratic bullshit you can think of!!!!
It is corruption that is ingrained within the entire system, government, corporate and Financial. The top maybe honest, however, when it comes to the bottom line it always takes priority, support of their family is first, Nation is last on the list. However when the top destroys the Nation in so doing they destroy their own family, they cannot and will not see the forest through the trees. You pay and you get what you want, it's epidemic, first they corrupt in order to accomplish fraud legally.
@pseudoprodigy a free market with no bailout would destroy the world economy. I understand what you're getting at, but unchecked Capitalism is what is responsible for this problem. Capitalism, like any form of chosen governmental procedure, can only work if the people adhere to their integrity and the social contract. The bankers and such that are being blamed did NOT adhere to the social contract, and thus capitalism failed the people.
Crony capitalism is what is destroying the economy. It is the collusion of politicians, corporations, and banks ignoring the rule of law. In order for free market capitalism to thrive you need the government to actually ADHERE TO THE CONSTITUTION and reduce itself accordingly, disolve the central bank which manipulates money and credit, and actually ENFORCE THE RULE OF LAW by criminally prosecuting companies or banks that commit fraud.
@myhipsi I agree with most of that. Laissez-faire Capitalism is about the worst way for any society to work, though. If the government were to reduce itself in regulatory matters, we'd see global destruction of civil and human rights, our economy, the middle class, and the planet itself. It's a fair statement to say that, as that's exactly what these protests are about. Because that is what is happening and has been happening since around 1980.
Actually, what you're experiencing today is the result of government run amok. Government doesn't have anything to contribute to society. It has to take wealth from some people in order to "give" it to someone else. Government is currently taking from the middle class, and giving to the politcially well connected. This is why the economy is in the state it is. Free market capitalism must adhere to the rule-of-law to work properly, and government must enforce that law.
Keep this in mind whenever you hear people plead for "more regulations" from government to "protect" the people. Regulations DO NOT help the people, they help the politcally well connected avoid having to follow the rule of law, because regulation circumvents the rule of law (ie. The constitution). Government over-regulation is the source of our economic problems, not the answer to them. Get the government out of picking winners and losers and let the market (people) decide.
@myhipsi Keep this in mind, the evidence points to the opposite conclusion you are spouting. Regulation helps everyone, it's the means by which the Constitution provides us our freedoms. Regulations DO help people. De-regulation helps the politically well connected...how can you be so utterly wrong? Enron, the big banks, Wall Street, big oil, etc...ALL gained from 30 years of deregulation. Who've lost? The people. So, I will not keep your incredibly incorrect ideas in mind.
Another co-op attempt yay! Prosecute all government officials who let it take place, including Bush and his administration as well as Obama and his as well as war crimes. Until MSNBC say's that they are just pointing at the banks and not who gave the banks the TWO $700+ billion bailouts.
@ForbesFortune Couldn't agree more Sr. Though Taft did get stuck in a bath tub dying in the process or the lack there of...unless that's just a myth. Not sure of his policies though, but based on stupidity he's gonna have to fight with Bush over the Championship belt.
"just like the slave master in that day , used Tom , the house negro to keep the field negroes in check , the same old slave master today has negroes who are nothing but modern Uncle Toms... to keep you and me in check."
@763873 WOULD RATHER HAVE THIS VALIANT AND COURAGE MAN AS PRESIDENT THAN ANY REPULSIVE PARTY OF NO (REPUBLICAN) IN OFFICE ..MY FATHER TOLD ME A LONG TIME AGO NEVER, NEVER TRUST A REPUBLICAN..THEY ARE ALL CROOKS AND LIARS AND WORK ONLY FOR THE WEALTHY AND CORPORATION
Obama: We thought that you would empower the middle class, stop the useless wars and bring jobs back to America. Instead, you sold us down the river to your corporate bank slave masters. Now... We will place our faith in Occupy Wall Street who believe in free market enterprise that is absent of the corrupting influence that Wall Street has had on our political system.
government is the problem. they provide the muscle for the corporations, they turn a blind eye to corporations' illegal acts, they reward corporations for their bad behavior.
without government corporations only have the power to make a better product and sell it for less money.
@danogzilla The people have to have a government. it is our voice. Right now we do NOT HAVE A GOVERNMENT. It has been stolen and taken over by corporations. It is run by the same people owning the corporations.. it is being turned into a for-profit business controlled by international elite. WE need a voice, we need law enforcement. Now we have none and we have to throw these people out of the buildings of our government and put in real representatives of the people.
@Textynn the government is not our voice, our voice is our voice. the government is there to protect our freedoms, something it is not doing right now. by and large i agree with what you say.
@danogzilla I mean that the government is suppose to represent the people. Stand against anything that does not serve us as a people. A place to register complaints. An authority to call on when defrauded, threatened, or injured. No it is not any of those things any more.
Our government has been captured and it and its resources are being liquidated and its power used to liquidate the people and control us like livestock. These are very scary times and a very dark period for us.
@Graham6762 call him an ass, puppet, person, devil, etc.... but dont say nigger. We dont need an issue that doenst matter, which in turn may distract from the actual issues
Hey I want to sell you a car that leaks exhaust into the passenger compartment ,and then I will take out a life ins. policy on you for a couple o mil. with me a s the beneficiary That is exactly what happened at these t.b.t.f. banks and instituitions.
Obama and all the other non-patriotic treasonistic politicians are the problem. They could easily write new policy and re-instate the Glass Steagul Act, and correct all the wrong they have created with this system. The system is not broke the politicians and their lack of a moral compass is what's broke. We can cry foul on wall st., but they are within the laws inwhich our politicians have written to govern them.Nevermind that the FED and corps paid them off, politicians set a price and sold out.
@jonz23m One must assume they are within the law, or wouldn't you think that the government would step in. If the politicians don't step in, then the government is still at fault for not upholding the laws and the constitution.Either way you slice it, the damn politicians have sold us out. Who's supposed to regulate and mandate the policy? The POLITICIANS. If the bankers and corporations are not following the law, who's suppose to make sure they do? Again, the POLITICIANS. Peace.
@chewycandy666 i think u confusing the law with enforcing the law. Nobody is defending the politicians here. Fraud became a businessmodel and busying politicians too best rate of return ever... so blaming the politicians is too simple. The political system is structured the way that there is not much room for honesty thes same is with the financial system. It doesnt have to do much with evil politicians than with the structure of the system.
@jonz23m You are simply letting the politicians off as though their job is not significant. It is the duty of these politicians to police those that seek to destroy America.Do you agree? Do you not think the bankers and the FED(one in the same), are not seeking to destroy our economy by lobbing for these trade agreements?By creating fiat money out of thin air?Of coures they are, and our frontline defense, our politicians, are letting it happen. Our enemy is domestic in origin. The fed and corps.
@chewycandy666 well i am sayin u r wrong if u expect politicians to save u. The system the way it is right now been developed over a century. Thats why change can only can come from the people. The higher u climb up the ladder of power the more u become invested into it. Especially when u need all that money to get to that office. So no nowadays politicians are not on the front line for the people but for those enemies u r talkin about -> inverted totalitarianism.
@hellshade2 YOU MY FRIEND KNOW WHAT THE HELL YOUR TALKING ABOUT!!! If Martin Luther King were alive today he would probably spit on this president OBAMINATION! MLK had a dream but I don't think it included ripping this nation apart with the most financially illiterate MORON being a president!
@selmamyspace i was speaking metaphorically but i hardly think you understand what that means. and as for speaking out of ones ass it seems you have more experience with that...
he's right, actually. The entire industry is now commanded by corruption. Where's room for the ones who want to make a change in the right direction? They need the government's help through oversight in the financial industry. It's not like real capitalism where people like you and I can reward the good ones, do you understand that? There are no good ones because they can't survive. The bad ones take advantage of what's available to them.
republics suck when they don't do the will of the ppl. now we have instant communication and the internet maybe we should flush the republic and just have a true constitutional democracy. not mob rule, just majority rule under the rules of the constitution.
kill the electoral college first and then kill everything else after that. republics were goo in the 1800's but obsolete now imho
@rtardbox The important thing is to protect the minority from the tyranny of the majority. that is the core of a constitutional republic imho. freedom is a popular thing, Go Ron Paul
@sailfished bam! amen! GO RON PAUL! the only true candidate
and why? for a lot of reasons, but #1 is because he's a constitutional hero.
so why do i say kill the republic? because with the internet, an educated citizenship and THE CONSTITUTION we really ONLY need a democracy. will the minority face tyranny? well no! the constitution and the supreme court will protect human rights and freedoms. as time passes a republic becomes less and less relevant and more harmful (think TARP)
Don't you just love it when they try to pretend this is such a new idea? Okay, maybe for the bulk of uniformed people who didn't notice when things weren't going badly for THEM, this is new, but for the rest of us who have been awake for awhile, the 99% lost their reputation at least 40 years ago. JFK and Reagan tried to turn heel and while JFK died, Reagan recovered but got the message. Don't cross the elite's path. The 99% were NEVER represented. Welfare for the rich or the poor, pick.
This is pretty good.

Socialized bailouts have nothing to do with Capitalism, a free market would correct this and let the liquidity occur NOT debt.
pseudoprodigy 4 months ago 2
@pseudoprodigy a free market with no bailout would destroy the world economy. I understand what you're getting at, but unchecked Capitalism is what is responsible for this problem. Capitalism, like any form of chosen governmental procedure, can only work if the people adhere to their integrity and the social contract. The bankers and such that are being blamed did NOT adhere to the social contract, and thus capitalism failed the people.
LoK3y 4 months ago
@LoK3y
Crony capitalism is what is destroying the economy. It is the collusion of politicians, corporations, and banks ignoring the rule of law. In order for free market capitalism to thrive you need the government to actually ADHERE TO THE CONSTITUTION and reduce itself accordingly, disolve the central bank which manipulates money and credit, and actually ENFORCE THE RULE OF LAW by criminally prosecuting companies or banks that commit fraud.
myhipsi 4 months ago
@myhipsi Wish I had said that.
CATSASS1117 4 months ago
@myhipsi I agree with most of that. Laissez-faire Capitalism is about the worst way for any society to work, though. If the government were to reduce itself in regulatory matters, we'd see global destruction of civil and human rights, our economy, the middle class, and the planet itself. It's a fair statement to say that, as that's exactly what these protests are about. Because that is what is happening and has been happening since around 1980.
LoK3y 4 months ago
@LoK3y
Actually, what you're experiencing today is the result of government run amok. Government doesn't have anything to contribute to society. It has to take wealth from some people in order to "give" it to someone else. Government is currently taking from the middle class, and giving to the politcially well connected. This is why the economy is in the state it is. Free market capitalism must adhere to the rule-of-law to work properly, and government must enforce that law.
myhipsi 4 months ago
@LoK3y
Get the government out of picking winners and losers and let the market (people) decide.
myhipsi 4 months ago
@myhipsi Keep this in mind, the evidence points to the opposite conclusion you are spouting. Regulation helps everyone, it's the means by which the Constitution provides us our freedoms. Regulations DO help people. De-regulation helps the politically well connected...how can you be so utterly wrong? Enron, the big banks, Wall Street, big oil, etc...ALL gained from 30 years of deregulation. Who've lost? The people. So, I will not keep your incredibly incorrect ideas in mind.

Obama and all the other non-patriotic treasonistic politicians are the problem. They could easily write new policy and re-instate the Glass Steagul Act, and correct all the wrong they have created with this system. The system is not broke the politicians and their lack of a moral compass is what's broke. We can cry foul on wall st., but they are within the laws inwhich our politicians have written to govern them.Nevermind that the FED and corps paid them off, politicians set a price and sold out.
chewycandy666 4 months ago
@chewycandy666 ummm within the laws?? what part of FRAUD didnt u understand in this video?
jonz23m 4 months ago
@jonz23m One must assume they are within the law, or wouldn't you think that the government would step in. If the politicians don't step in, then the government is still at fault for not upholding the laws and the constitution.Either way you slice it, the damn politicians have sold us out. Who's supposed to regulate and mandate the policy? The POLITICIANS. If the bankers and corporations are not following the law, who's suppose to make sure they do? Again, the POLITICIANS. Peace.
chewycandy666 4 months ago
@chewycandy666 i think u confusing the law with enforcing the law. Nobody is defending the politicians here. Fraud became a businessmodel and busying politicians too best rate of return ever... so blaming the politicians is too simple. The political system is structured the way that there is not much room for honesty thes same is with the financial system. It doesnt have to do much with evil politicians than with the structure of the system.
jonz23m 4 months ago
@jonz23m You are simply letting the politicians off as though their job is not significant. It is the duty of these politicians to police those that seek to destroy America.Do you agree? Do you not think the bankers and the FED(one in the same), are not seeking to destroy our economy by lobbing for these trade agreements?By creating fiat money out of thin air?Of coures they are, and our frontline defense, our politicians, are letting it happen. Our enemy is domestic in origin. The fed and corps.
chewycandy666 4 months ago
@chewycandy666 well i am sayin u r wrong if u expect politicians to save u. The system the way it is right now been developed over a century. Thats why change can only can come from the people. The higher u climb up the ladder of power the more u become invested into it. Especially when u need all that money to get to that office. So no nowadays politicians are not on the front line for the people but for those enemies u r talkin about -> inverted totalitarianism.

republics suck when they don't do the will of the ppl. now we have instant communication and the internet maybe we should flush the republic and just have a true constitutional democracy. not mob rule, just majority rule under the rules of the constitution.
kill the electoral college first and then kill everything else after that. republics were goo in the 1800's but obsolete now imho
rtardbox 4 months ago
@rtardbox The important thing is to protect the minority from the tyranny of the majority. that is the core of a constitutional republic imho. freedom is a popular thing, Go Ron Paul

and why? for a lot of reasons, but #1 is because he's a constitutional hero.
so why do i say kill the republic? because with the internet, an educated citizenship and THE CONSTITUTION we really ONLY need a democracy. will the minority face tyranny? well no! the constitution and the supreme court will protect human rights and freedoms. as time passes a republic becomes less and less relevant and more harmful (think TARP)
