@LewisPearceYaussy Dumb question. Did I say that? No. What I mean is that today everyone races with a huge amount of electronic aids making the whole sport a lot less impressive and exciting as it once was. Of course the best drivers will still be at the top, but it's just not the same when the car does so much of the job by itself.
@dioseolo actually it is quite the opposite back in those days all F1 were quite different as power goes today there are regulations that keep them white about the same engine performance.
@WatchmenDrManhattan Read my other comment. I wasn't talking about balance between cars and manufacturers, I was talking about the whole sport. The driver did a lot more back then. Now, with all the electronic aids, there's a huge amount of stuff the car does by itself which the driver had to do back then, which makes the whole sport less impressive nowadays.
the trailer until 1.30 is NOT showing Senna onboard 1988, but this is 1990. You clearly hear the aspirate engine, the steering wheel is different, the front wing is from the aspirate car and other detail the green inside his helmet (you see it in the mirror) which he used from 1990 on. the images of his crash (from 1.30 on) is original 1988.
@marcinandula yeah I know what he won. I was just following up a lot of online debates saying that the ONBOARD wasn't actually from 1988, the rest of it was '88 footage obviously (the crash + Prost crossing the line), as for example the classics monthly review of the film said "Also, a sequence dealing with Senna’s astonishing performance in practice at Monaco in 1988 is played out with onboard footage from 1989. Small things, perhaps, but still…"

1988 ? That's not the sound you get from a V6 though, more like the sound of a V10....
