I had to cheer for Vader in this match. Koloff had attacked Madusa and tried to beat her up. She had said "I can slap any man any time I want." Not a good thing to say, bu Koloff's actions were pure heel stuff and he deserved a beating. (I know it's a work, I am speaking as a fan).

I'm looking at that clip, and I'm convinced that "Nikita" was hurt. "Vader" had done a great job of ending the match so that "Nikita" could go to the hospital. Great professional wrestling sportsmanship.

So Koloff goes after Vader on the floor because he supposedly doesn't want a countout. But then he tries for his finisher outside. If that would have connected, Vader would have been out cold and 400+ pounds of dead weight to lift back in. Either Koloff is a fool or he has no faith in the power of the Russian Sickle. Seconds before, he comes off the ropes with a perfect opportunity, but crossbodys instead, so I guess both.

@TheLoke666 i think if this was the nikita that first started in the nwa vader wouldve lost. kolloff was much bigger and much more stronger than. he was a heel then so he had that killer instinct. you see here he lost a lot of his power and muscle. he was very soft here. a shell of his former self. he like 264 here, when nikita first came to the nwa he was well over 300!

If you look at some of the early footage of TNA during the asylum days they were using an old WCW ring, they had caged dancing girls, (like the nitro girls) they had alot of former wcw wrestlers like Lex Luger, Buff Bagwell, and various others, and their first world champion was Ken Shamrock. TNA REALLY looked like WCW circa 2000/2001 when it first came out. At least now they have an extremely talented roster.

Nikita never regained his popularity every since he lossed the U.S. Title to Lex Luger in 1987. I mean he wasn't really that popular to begin with, and he didn't really make a goof "face" that the fans liked" but after he lost so easily in a one sided match in which Luger dominated Nikita, then Nikita popularity really went down the hill, and Lugers just got higher then it already was.
