I wish they( the writers) coulda had nikita russian sickle ventura for all the cheap shot comments directed at him. woudve been nice. ventura didnt give nikita much credit.
If you look back in time, Dolph Ziggler could mat wrestle Vader and beat him for the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship. Zig Zag would take the man from the Rocky Mountains down.
@ksamons : DID YOU KNOW?: The foul and disgusting criminal immigrant beaner known as mysterio has FINALLY been fired by WWE, and is facing a deportation hearing next week.
I had to cheer for Vader in this match. Koloff had attacked Madusa and tried to beat her up. She had said "I can slap any man any time I want." Not a good thing to say, bu Koloff's actions were pure heel stuff and he deserved a beating. (I know it's a work, I am speaking as a fan).
I never said he was russian,i know what his name was before he became Nikita and i know his family, you are correct he was born in the usa in the south and his mom and dad live there still along with his girls gradbabys and such, like i said hes a great friend of mine.He wanted to play in the NFL but things happened and he ended up doing what he did for awhile, now he tells others about the gift of God his son.Great man is he.Hope i cleared up my comment.
I'm looking at that clip, and I'm convinced that "Nikita" was hurt. "Vader" had done a great job of ending the match so that "Nikita" could go to the hospital. Great professional wrestling sportsmanship.
This was wrestling, WCW in the late 80 and early 90 before they signed Hogan where far better then WWE (WWF), today pro wrestling is dead, yeah the gusy do better moves but they dont have the karisma that theses
Nikita gave up his citizenship and gave it to heaven, now that takes a real man.He is a great friend as well and one couldnt ask for a better friend then him.
So Koloff goes after Vader on the floor because he supposedly doesn't want a countout. But then he tries for his finisher outside. If that would have connected, Vader would have been out cold and 400+ pounds of dead weight to lift back in. Either Koloff is a fool or he has no faith in the power of the Russian Sickle. Seconds before, he comes off the ropes with a perfect opportunity, but crossbodys instead, so I guess both.
@TheLoke666 i think if this was the nikita that first started in the nwa vader wouldve lost. kolloff was much bigger and much more stronger than. he was a heel then so he had that killer instinct. you see here he lost a lot of his power and muscle. he was very soft here. a shell of his former self. he like 264 here, when nikita first came to the nwa he was well over 300!
Nikita is very small here. a shell of his former self. hated to see him like this. he soft. if this had been the nikita from 84 vader would have to hang it up. koloff would have destroyed vader. Kolof when he was a bad guy weighed 295 - 305. he was mean and feroscious. he lost his old self when he turned good guy.
@veeseee128 that's because he was juiced back then. a lot of guys were. there were a lot of guys back then who you used to see huge at one point and then would show up a lot smaller.
Why is it people talk as tho turning TNA into this organization right here is such a bad thing? WCW sold out arenas and sold ppvs. WCW almost put the WWE out of business.
@sakonhagakure Its not the early days people are upset that TNA was turning into. When TNA started, it was like the early days of WCW. But now TNA is becoming more like WCW was towards the end in 1999, 2000, & 2001
If you look at some of the early footage of TNA during the asylum days they were using an old WCW ring, they had caged dancing girls, (like the nitro girls) they had alot of former wcw wrestlers like Lex Luger, Buff Bagwell, and various others, and their first world champion was Ken Shamrock. TNA REALLY looked like WCW circa 2000/2001 when it first came out. At least now they have an extremely talented roster.
That was my all time favorite monster of the ring. Pro wrestling needs a new no nonsense monster like vader. I see much potential in NXT Rookie Husky Harris but doubt they can play him like that.
@Rimbaud1531 To my understanding Nikita's wife had terminal cancer and they had at least one kid together. He quit wrestling to be with his wife & kid(s) more. But then again that could be wrong. That's just the story I always heard. Nikita was the man when he was out there though.
@rissipenv and then his sig move years later became the stunner. And Vader wasnt no solid overly muscled freak but that joker could move and was no pondering fat blob.
People keep bringing up Orndorff, but I call bullshit on that. Vader is no pussy and anyone who thinks that is a retard. Dude is a fat fuck, but he's also a world class athelete and one of the strongest wrestlers ever who wasnt a growth hormone giant or on roids, in fact probably the strongest ever by that criteria.
There must have been something refreshing about WCW in these days. WWF was big time cartoon-land at this time, worse than usual if memory serves me correctly. Isn't this when they had Doink and Kamala running around? Or Repo-Man maybe?
WCW tried to do thise kind of Gimmicks too, but they didn't work out that well and most of them were scraped rather quickly. But yeah, overall WCW at the time was less gimmick-heavy than the WWF.
Vader said he just thought that was how it was done. He started his career in AWA getting thrown in with Stan Hansen and Brody. He then moves on in his career to fueding with some of the stiffest wrestlers ever Choshu and Hashimoto.
Flair screwed Vader over anyway when he changed the ending of the Thundercage match.
Man, I miss the WCW. McMahon monopolized wrestling and now all we have is shit! Those were the best time of pro wrestling Sting, Luger, Flair, The Road Warriors, Steiner Bro, Koloff, The Great Muta, those were real wrestlers not the pseudo idiots of today!
Bill Watts WCW was my favorite era... clean shaven Rick Rude being pushed like he deserved, storylines set up my contract loopholes, Vader rocking the US title... this was one of Vader's first matches since losing the wcw title to Simmons, Clash in September excluded
@WrestlingHeretic He also called out Ross on his bullshit. "Wait a minute. The Rams never won the SuperBowl" as he was trying to put Vader over as a SuperBowl champion. lol
Vader was a bully in the ring. Even Harley Race called him a prick when he roughed up Flair in Starrcade. Too bad the fat fuck couldn't handle Paul Orndorff when he really needed to fight.
@FUCKULUKEFITZGERALD Harley Race said that Vader told Flair to bring it and Flair started beating the shit out of his chest throughout the match until Vader relaxed. I'm not surprised because everyone from Ricky Steamboat to Sting have said how stiff those chops were.
@ljfkjgfkjgv that hasn't been proven one way or the other.. odds are Vader would have ripped Orndorffs bad arm off and fed it to him if they ever fought.
@666JLH vader really was a bullying fat fuck though, he paralysed a jobber with a powerbomb, he broke Mick Foley's face up, as ljfkjgfkjgv said he roughed up the ageing Ric Flair, when he got in the ring he was stiff and brutal and unforgiving
@ljfkjgfkjgv When Flair fell to the floor, Harley said "Hit him as hard as you can or he won't respect you." When Flair got back in the ring, he punched Vader in the face four times...giving Vader a black eye, and Vader calmed down. True story.
@ljfkjgfkjgv Apparently somewhere down the line he must have gotten nicer because Jim Cornette said he was one of the nicest guys backstage when he was in the WWF.
Vader, the latter-day Moose Cholak, brutalizing the 80s Soviet legend Koloff.

@SuperSonicHot I think so man. I think Vader was just too stiff/ tough. Especially after that Vader Splash, if you look at Nikita's face he probaly thinking man, Im getting outta here.
