They had an interesting campaign machine in commercial promotions. Create characters similar to sid and marty krofft (at that time period) and see sales boom. this commerical is the one they would show when ronald made a live appearance at an actual Mcdonalds. they would flash the address and the announcer would give the location.

This was Big Mac's last appearance in a McDonalds ad. He quit right afterword over a salary dispute. In the commercials story arc they had him leave McDonaldland and go to Argentina to teach Marxism to school children. Needless to say he was never seen or heard from again.

Back then getting fast food was a rare treat in my household. A few times a year, not a few times a week.
