TRAINER TIP: It is important at 0:59 that you make the 2nd trainer walk to you.

If you simply walk right in front of him,the game will crash and freeze up.

stock up on pokeballs before attempting this as Mew's catch rate is too high unless he has a sliver of life and is either paralyzed/asleep. Save game before approaching the 1st trainer and dont be discouraged if this doesn't work the 1st try...

Well if this is real, it proves that Mew was an intentional glitch. If it was an "accident" in Red/Blue (that Mew was supposed to be removed but wasn't) then why is it in Yellow with a different sprite like all the other 150 Pokemon? Yellow was made as something to tie fans over until Gold and Silver so it wasn't even planned at the time of Red and Blue's creation (especially since it is also based off the anime unlike R/B which are the games that inspired it).

@xxcute001xx The difference is on yellow your starter is pikachu and in the other ones you can pick bulbasuar, charmander, and squirtle plus they all have some pokemon you cant get without tradeing. pokemon yellow is pretty much the newer version of blue and red so it has some more features such as (surfing pikachu mini games)

no. once you catch mew, the game treats him as any other legit pokemon and wont crash,freeze or ruin your file. it's perfectly safe to have him. i caught my mew using this video about 6 days ago and he is now lvl 44...he would be higher but im also raising my pikachu, nidoking and rhydon. all of which are in their 40's and we're barely getting into saffron city. i like to battle wild poke's alot to build EXP.

Destroyed the game, got all 150 pokemon but always wanted and never knew how to get mew. damn,bro that sounds terrible. the internal save batteries on these games are getting up there in age and it's common to find them unable to hold a save. whats more common is the silver/gold/crystal versions not being able to hold a save game too. its more of a problem with these games than the original 3 due 2 the fact that the 2nd gen games all had an internal in-game Clock. it used more power and would cause the game 2 lose time after a few years thus killing the battery

yes and no. this only works when you reach cerulean city and IGNORE going up north on nugget bridge UNTIL you get an abra cause you'll need teleport to do this. also its a good idea(once u have abra) to clear out all the other pokemon trainers except for the ones shown here before attempting this. if you managed to beat this game and avoided going on nugget bridge,then yes, you can still try to do this

Lmao yeah, my game just froze up.. Was hard finding Abra only because it's not by the trainer you gotta quickly pause by.. But if you're having trouble finding Abra, beat Misty and get through the house that Team Rocket fucked up, as you head down the route after Misty's Town(lmao can't believe I forgot name already, little stoned) the first patch of grass you find has shit tons of em. Be sure to have sleep and a pokemon that won't annihilate it in one hit.
