@intoximacated yes, or a much easier way is basting it, like he demonstrates here. Not many folks own a deep fryer, or have any need for one.

Starting temp of sausage? Must have a gas stove for this basting top part with hot butter? Sausages are cylindrical, so the middle part takes the longest for heat to reach, unless you're using Ready-to-eat sausages then it's a problem. If you've cooked thick sausages using this method, then you'd know you'll have uncooked middle parts. It would help using a skillet covered with a lid with the knob turned 3/8th (less than medium), Otherwise, find Gray's Papaya styled thinner weiners for easy cook
