Baker v Nelson doesn't have national precedence as the ruling was made by the Minnesota supreme court and not the Supreme Court. the fact that the Supreme Court dismissed the case does not mean they endorse the lower courts decision it simple means they decided
not to rule on it as they do with many cases every year. As the Supreme Court hasn't ruled on the issue it is up to the states to decide how to regulate marriage within there own state. Six states (and DC) recognize it. Goodridge v Dept Public Health is the case that legalized it in Massachusetts from the ruling: “The right to marry is... a fundamental right that is protected against unwarranted State interference.” Please explain what you mean by sham as it pertains to this issue

Baker v Nelson doesn't have national precedence as the ruling was made by the Minnesota supreme court and not the Supreme Court. the fact that the Supreme Court dismissed the case does not mean they endorse the lower courts decision it simple means they decided

@gat0rgirl13 Separate but equal was a term used to promote the use of segregation. The idea was, okay we'll treat black people equally, but we still don't want them around, so they'll be kept separate from us.
This was wrong because it wasn't equal, black people had to stand if a white person needed a seat, the schools for black people didn't have good teachers, and etc. Similarly civil Unions don't grant all the same rights marriage does, and that was the point I was making.
