@SamuelHellDay i think that the vast majority of metalcore and post hardcore bands are too comercialized, and have forgotten their traditional hardcore punk roots, which is why i feel that they are lesser in many ways.
it sucks they broke up. it really does. btw, everyone interested in good music, check out maudlin of the well. honest recommendation, very brilliant stuff
I was really dissapointed when I heard that they are splitting. I went to their concert about a year ago and it was like a two-hour orgasm:) They were absolutly fantastic, one of the best concerts I've ever been to.
people say that post-rock is boring and whatever, but it probably has the most diverse and unique structure and sound of any other genre out there. its beautiful
@Geetarguy4 I know exactly what you mean, sometimes i cant believe what im hearing when im listening to isis, its like a god damn sea of paintings something lol
metal is more different that so much other stuff in my opinion that you need to catagorise it somewhat if you wanna have a clue about what other bands you don't know are playing if you are talking about them.

@SamuelHellDay but after that short period of time where it was just hardcore punk with experimentation, they commercialized the fuck out of it!

It's Post Rock or Atmospheric Sludge.
KingTaargusVII 7 months ago
@KingTaargusVII
what's atmospheric sludge?
Tanga26927 5 months ago
@Tanga26927 It's bands like Isis, basically.
It's slow aggression, with harmony and intense parts all the while surrounded by a deeply emotional and melodic atmosphere.

Heavy post-rock influence on post-metal, typically more about the expansion and evolution of the sound/song/album.
