I did not post this as to say that these hits were the most impressive hits ever. But if you believe that Hester actually ran Major over, you are NUTS! Hester ran at full speed his head down, he ran smack into Major and he stopped dead in his tracks. If you watch the video Hester had to step back to continue forward. Major on the other hand was not only 50lbs lighter but was on his heals and still stopped him, and Major fell back a little and still assisted in the tackle.
Major tried to make a tackle. He didn't succeed. The player that he was trying to tackle, knocked him to his knees, and made it another few yards before being tackled. I will admit I commented on the assist before I watched again. But to post that hit as something impressive is the only issue I have with it. Hester won the battle, but he didn't do it in impressive fashion. Major only fell to his knee and got up pretty quickly. IMO if you run someone over they should be on their tails like the players in my video. Major would have tackles Hester for sure had he wrapped him up. Major had an issue with just tackling with his head down when he was a freshman.
Many freshman football players struggle with tackling with their heads down. Many NFL players struggle with the same thing. It's because people have glorified the "big hit" with today's game. I'd have my ass chewed off and handed to me by my football coach if I would've put my head down and tackled. In my opinion, break down, keep your eyes up, put your shoulder on his stomach, and wrap your damn arms around his legs. I promise you, he'll go down.

Wether he's in pro or not but if he's just a hitter, then there is no room for him anywhere. A great safety for Florida would be Reggie Nelson but now he sucks. I did not post this as to say that these hits were the most impressive hits ever. But if you believe that Hester actually ran Major over, you are NUTS! Hester ran at full speed his head down, he ran smack into Major and he stopped dead in his tracks. If you watch the video Hester had to step back to continue forward. Major on the other hand was not only 50lbs lighter but was on his heals and still stopped him, and Major fell back a little and still assisted in the tackle.

Major tried to make a tackle. He didn't succeed. The player that he was trying to tackle, knocked him to his knees, and made it another few yards before being tackled. I will admit I commented on the assist before I watched again. But to post that hit as something impressive is the only issue I have with it. Hester won the battle, but he didn't do it in impressive fashion. Major only fell to his knee and got up pretty quickly. IMO if you run someone over they should be on their tails like the players in my video. Major would have tackles Hester for sure had he wrapped him up. Major had an issue with just tackling with his head down when he was a freshman.

Many freshman football players struggle with tackling with their heads down. Many NFL players struggle with the same thing. It's because people have glorified the "big hit" with today's game. I'd have my ass chewed off and handed to me by my football coach if I would've put my head down and tackled. In my opinion, break down, keep your eyes up, put your shoulder on his stomach, and wrap your damn arms around his legs. I promise you, he'll go down.

Again, MW did not just "miss the tackle", when this happens it is called "whiffing" like in baseball...When a defensive player runs full speed and hits someone, and then HE falls down and the ball carrier goes on for extra yards, this is called "trucking". It was impressive because MW IS a good player and even the announcers were impressed. Listen to the tone of the announcers. MR should have made the tackle and Hester was always underated...it was a very good run that showed determination and drive. You have to accept your medicine. Florida is a great team. MR is as good as any pro, but on that play (which was a good run) Hester won because MR thought he could "hit" Hester down, and wound up looking bad (notice it did not happen again...) so let it all go, just tell me that you will get over it man

THEREFOR, if you played that team within the two year prior to that coaches firing that would indicate that the team you played was on a downward spiral...
As far as the loses the SEC has against the Pac10, those all involve game played on the west coast. We are even on the east coast.
There is no definitive arguement until UF and USC meet.

Nope, you probably got that off ESPN but more sites that have been updated more recently say they return 12 starters, not 14. Florida is clearly a better team than USC going into this season, and it will show in the NC when UF beats them or when USC doesn't even make it theire. UF clearly superior to USC, end of argument, when you return all starters and backups from the defense that held the best CFB offense of all time to 14 points their is trouble.

utah has nothing. yes they beat bama but bama went into that game all the wrong way and got their ass handed to them. if they played again bama would go in with a completely different mind set and would destroy utah. usc is over rated they dont play any body impressive. the pac 10 is one of the weakest conferences in all of the bcs conferences.

the only thing the pac 10 has is usc. all other pac 10 teams i would put my money against teams like texas, texas tech and oklahoma from the big 12 and teams like miami, florida state and virginia tech from the acc.
