Sure the government would try to cover it up, but ignoring it is another way to cover it up. By not admitting anything, they cannot really be blamed it accused of anything, especially since civilians cannot really get hard evidence. One, we don't have the money up finance a trip to the moon ourselves and second we don't have the equipment or technology, so the government doesn't really have anything to worry about.

The first (black and white) images were taken by NASA. The others are the "hoax" images. If this disappeared from the internet it would.be evidence of a cover up. BTW there was an Apollo 18 mission that was a joint effort with the soviets, just fyi
