He however announced that taxpayers should not be the ones to pay for such monuments. So he took a hundred dollars from his wallet and said that he would be the first person to subsidize this project with money from his own pockets. Neither the democrats who proposed this monument nor anyone else in the house said a word.

Imagine though how much further Ron Paul would be by now if he wasn't penalised 600 votes for the "too many supporters in the stands" rule....and oohhh another 200 back...

The NBC debate is coming and I can't wait to see how they try to twist their questions to make Ron Pauls views look stupid. But on the other hand every time the media does that in the debates, they end up looking like complete fools when Dr. Paul responds. It also makes them look even more biased and transparent which results in their reputation taking another hit. It makes Dr. Paul shows how couragous he is and how he doesn't back down from adversity.
