Hello, just a quick question, DID IT HURT? I bought a set up similar to your in an estate sale, now I have been checking out to see what it is, (as I had no idea as to what I bought) It sure looks like a heck of alot of fun, I live in northern ontario and its fairly windy here all the time, usually from 10 to 20 km an hour wind, am I going to kill myself or is it fairly easy, any feedback would help, email me if possable at my55shoebox@hotmail.ca, I sure am impressed that your writing about it..
@lakerdrinker.... No, it didnt hurt... Only my pride was hurt... I made a nick in the prop but I had it inspected and re-finished. Since this crash, I have had maybe fifteen flights on the same motor and prop. But also ten flights with my bigger prop and trike. It is the most fun you will ever have. But you will kill yourself if you dont have an insturctor help you or give you lessons. But it is worth any amount of money. "They" recommend to fly 10mph or less, so that is all I do.
With only 6 flights there should have been an instructor there telling you to add throttle... your problem(as you know) wasn't that you turned downwind, once starting the turn add throttle(probably full)to give you enough airspeed to climb out again. You now probably know this and I hope you have been getting hours of the ground. One thing that I tell my students is, "If you are about to turn downwind, do you have enough altitude to make another turn to make a safe landing if your motor cuts?"
@snoboarder2427 .... You are absolutly correct... I have since learned, and still continue to fly within my skill level... I have a lot more time in the air, so I am getting better. Not anywhere near a pro, but I just enjoy bein up in the air, away from the ground :)
@jolicoq The motor looks like a walkerjet, Not a bad 2 stroke engine, I personally have and instruct on Parajet. I like their offset hangpoints which allows me to actually fly straight under power. They offer a couple of different types of motors, and its extremely hard to find them used because everyone that buys one keeps it. Cheers Man
@yamahonkawazuki To be honest with you, I have no idea... I have only flown Fresh Breeze. I am still an amature of the sport, so I dont know much about different motors. So, sorry I cant help ya on that one.
@13aguas ive read the reviews on your engine. and they seem as good if not better. i want to take up PPG soon. was looking into it. had been into ultralights before. but this seems as though it would be a bit more convenient. 2 ppl a small truck, i take off and meet truck elsewhere for pickup etc
@yamahonkawazuki That is exactly what I do. I have my wife drop me off and then I take off and scout for hunting and she drives to another location where I land. You can pretty much take off and land anywhere you want when you foot launch. It is a blast, there is nothing like it.
thanks for sharing your video ,glad you walked away without injury.

@jolicoq ... This motor is a fresh Breeze Simonini 122. It is a great motor, I havent had any problems with it and I have had it for over a year.
