I've seen so many reviews of the HTC hero and I gotta ask, what is it with reviewers waving their fingers about like crazy all through every review? Makes it hard to see when you're actually pressing some control or you're just fidgeting for no reason.

I totally agree with the iphone thing, I have a 1st gen ipod touch which I bought for 100GBP over a year ago. I've compared it to the 2G, 3G and 3GS iphones and apart from the obvious functional differences the screen, user interface and touch control are the same. So is it worth me paying "NINE TIMES THE AMOUNT I PAID FOR MY IPOD TOUCH" (current price of iphone 3gs is 919GBP) for a few more features but almost the same user experience - hell no!

I like your videos and i have few questions about this phone. Does this have the Push-internet feature which is on the touch pro 2 where one can set web-pages to preload every 2 hours or so?

And another question. I'm not so familiar with the android. Can there be installed 3rd party programs normally like on winmo devices? Can I for example get the latest opera browser on it?

I think the phone supports J2ME so it can probably download Java apps not from the Android Market, so, it can probably download Opera Mini.

Good reviews! Your daily road-tests show real use of the phone as you learn about it.

Questions: 1) Can you set a widget to automatically show upcoming calendar events as a list on the main screen? (Like windows mobile). 2) Does the phone lag much when loading a webpage the first time? 3)Can new emails from more than one address (e.g. personal AND ALSO work email addresses) be automatically downloaded to a widget on the main screen? Or can you only chose one address?

Hmm, i have to say im disapointed with that jerky flash playback. The software looks fantastic but the device itself looks quite underpowered in comparison to other hardware in the pipeline. Shove a tegra and one of those new 1Ghz qualcomm snapdragon's in it and as far as my wallet is concerned money would be no object!

Kudos for supplying us with the most in depth hero review, when pricing details come out from tmobile ill still be seriously considering this phone!

I know you've been showing how to take a video, but what is the quality? are there artifacts from compression? could you post that video (in raw format, not youtube) on the web to examine?

it would be nice if video featured close up objects and move to landscape and back, just to see how autofocus feature responds.

The same is about pictures, e.g. is the lense good enough for 5mpx pictures? are the sensors sensitive enough indoors as well as outdoors? Would be nice to see samples on the web.

1. Can you try to play a movie on the HTC Hero from your SD-card. Just a 1,5 hour length movie that you've downloaded.. YouTube and so on works great but I want to use this HTC Hero in my bed / the train for watching movies and so on!

2. Can you show us the 'AutoFocus' mode? Is it just like the iPhone 3GS? Just press on your screen and it is sharpening on that particular point and making a picture?
