Agree. That's cause Greg LoPiccolo is a fucking genius :) I hope Rock Band has made him rich as Croesus. I got to see Tribe live a couple of times back in the late 80's, my god they were a great band.
great band from boston so I'm partial, but god, great vocals and tight band. I remember them from the very early 90's, definitely ahead of their time love em'.
Very few 'smart' songs have fist-pumping, foot-stomping shout-along choruses. This is one of them.
My, does this bring me back; a criminally unappreciated band. And the comments below are spot-on: MTV has fallen to abyssal depths from the days when it would play great tunes like this.
...
"Haven't got a to lot to say, have you? Have you?" ;)
Loved this band. God turned on to them in '89 if I recall correctly. Saw them several times in Boston.
They were WAY ahead of their time. Great, full sound, power, grit, and they rocked on stage. It's unfortunate that the rest of the country didn't catch on.
In the 90's I'd visit my family in Greater Boston every summer. Listening to WFNX I'd wonder why the hell this never made it out to the LA stations. Brilliant band, with truly distinct sound and brilliant lyrics that ring as true today as they did in 1991.
Oh man ...this is youtube GOLD!! One of the most underated bands ever with the talent they had. I was in love with Janet and her and Terri had the best female voices. Luckily I saw them a few times before they disbanded. Thanks for posting this!!
Fuckin' awesome! I remember seeing this on 120 Minutes back in 1991...they played it a couple of times and then, zip! It was outta there! Of course, that was back in the days before MTV completely stopped airing music videos, to become the useless, teenage loser network that they are today.
I'll second that! I'm so psyched to see a video of theirs online. I almost freaked out when I found out they were working for Harmonix. I wish more of their songs were available for Rock Band.
It's sad to find out that this band didn't "make it", since I really enjoy playing Outside on Rockband and find it to be an amazing song.
What's nice is that they all seem to be doing their own thing now, they're all proud of what they created while they were together and (from what I've read) are always happy when fans come up to them and praise them for what they did. That's what makes a true artist and all the money in the world can't buy that feeling.
Janet I love you!!! Your voice commands me to come running throught the concrete walls, over the barbed wire, to push on toward passion and beauty in music!! keep singing!! mmmm,
Oh how I miss tribe. I saw them a number of times at WFNX sponsered shows on Lansdowne Street and at the hatch shell. Brilliant band--their music will never go out of style.
If you like Tribe you will like the live video's of Tribe I found and uploaded. See Tribe at Avalon.Hope you like. I loved seeing this band any time I could.
Thanks for posting this clip, it is excellent. I saw them live back around 1990 at the Paradise in Boston, another Boston band O-Positive opened up for them. I was lucky enough to be standing about 6 feet from the stage, it was an awesome show.
THanx for sharing so much. Brings me right back to the Boston Scene at that time. Janet ruled and was the true Diva of the time. So glad to have seen her live then. Most underrated band of that time. Tribe was it in my book.
I saw this band many so times in Boston at the Channel, Avalon,Paridice, etc. Tribe covered Todd Rundgren (couldn't I just tell you),Gary Numan( Are Friends Electric)Surly Basey(Goldfinger ),B O C (godzilla).Probably the the best band on the East Coast. Janet LaVally was voted best female singer 4 years streight. I miss them so much.I think Greg Lopiccalo (base player) is making or designing Guitar Hero for sony ps2 so i heard.
It still amazes me the perfect match of the rithym the vocals and the mind blowing punch of this song!

This band packs so much energy. I have their 2 CDs (after seeing them on MTV's "120 Minutes") and always regretted that I didn't see them live.
Powerful guitars & drums, great female vocals.... they had their own sound, but anyone who likes Curve or Garbage would love Tribe.
Glad to know that the band lives on in Rock Band.

She'll always remind me of Lisa Edelstein / Cuddy from House. Hmm!
