  • Hi, what's the guitar, amp and rig please ? Best.

  • wow the sustain is outstanding !!!

  • Thanks so much for this lesson, I have been looking for a droped tuned lesson for a long time. Drop B Rocks!

  • OMG I LOVE HOW THIS GUY PLAYS :)

  • Awesome guitar, awesome player, awesome lesson, but should raise the action, pretty much every note he plays has a buzz, when you palm mute the strings shouldn't be scratching against the high frets, even if it doesn't come through the amp, the strings won't resonate 100% fully, and that's never a good thing.

  • @tango616 this

  • I use B Standard on a 7 String.

  • did someone ever click that link below?

  • All of the fretbuzz you get with drop tunings and super low action drive me nuts.

  • what's the best string gauge for drop B?

  • @iSeeOceans 11-54 maybe?

  • @iSeeOceans I like a 12-56 for a 251/2 scale, 13-60 for a shorter scale.

  • @BraveMavrick Thanks!

  • That's a shitload of gain you got there.

  • Click on cc red buton and have a laught:))

  • great lesson, almost wish i didn't have a floyd right about now!!

  • Anyone else watch this guys videos just to listen to him play?

  • Just SICK !

  • dude i love yur tone. what amp are you using?

  • Really easy to go from standard to DROP B! Yeah, that'll happen...

    ...still a cool lesson.

  • What is the purpose of drop tuning? It doesn't sound that much different then regular tuning.

  • @Thouchins Top three strings are a power chord.

  • @Thouchins sometimes it is good for the vocalist. may be good for metal, hardcore etc genre.. try different kind of musics and u will feel the different

  • @Thouchins Google it.

  • @Thouchins One of the main purposes of drop tunings is to make power chords much easier. Also, if you think it doesn't sound much different, then you've never heard very low drop tunings.. There is a HUGE difference between E Standard and say, Drop C or B.

  • @Thouchins trust me with different pedals songs and amp settings and stuff like that will change the way ur tuning sounds if u want it classic rock or blues u tune to standard and usually if ur playing metal u usually play dropped tuning for the deeper sound

  • @Thouchins you become a little desensitized to it considering most modern rock bands tune this low anyway. its done to relieve string tension which causes the string to move in wider vibration patterns, which causes a significant tonal change, a bit hard to describe. also it allows a lower range, considering how little time the average guitarist spends above fret 15 or so, the loss of the high range is acceptable. and lastly some vocalists need lower tunings to accommodate for their voices.

  • @Thouchins drop tuning is often used to match deep vocals or grunting, plus it makes certain things like bending much easier- blues legend Albert King for instance detuned to C or C# to be able to bend three notes up (or rather, pull the strings downwards), so it's not just a metal thing.

  • Where is Willbilly "Twofists" McGee? D:

  • @ShakeZulaTheMicRula yeah lol

  • @ShakeZulaTheMicRula - hi - more lessons with Willie coming soon - please stay tuned - he is back! Rock oN!
