Barry is being polite so he stands aside to leave Kerry standing out. I find no trace that the two of them do not get along. Besides,Barry does not even have to hold the microphone close to his mouth. He voice can reach far without it. He is always in the spotlight, but remains decent and caring. Forever a gentleman. That's why I admire him a great deal.

Kerry Ellis should have just sung it on her own - I agree with some comments. Manilow looked really uncomfortable and it looked as is he was scared of her or didn't know how to sing with a woman!  Manilow = Thunderbird puppet!!!

If Barry is SO afraid of women why has he done duets with so many, Debra Byrd, Bette Midler, Barbra Striesend, Dionne Warwick, Diane Schuur, Elaine Paige, Anna Marie Kauffman. @manilowqueen BTW. I'm a happily married woman. Just saying my thoughts which we are all allowed to do, think calling me a moron is a bit OTT. You obviously enjoy his singing and I think he's a fine musician and is a legend but to me on that night it didn't work for me.

@manilooney7 Sorry, I don't wish to sound rude. I just think that Kerry can be such a cool singer. And I don't wish to say anything too bad... but Barry Manilow doesn't seem to even know how to hold a microphone properly. He holds it way to far from is mouth which means that the poor sound people have to turn it up loads which distorts the quality. Poor sound people. But of course Kerry is a true professional! Sorry for any Manilow fans - if there are any.

@GabrielAngelCurse I could not agree more. I feel very sorry for the sound/monitor mixers who have to deal with Barry Manilow's appalling mic technique. He does NOT know how to hold a microphone properly. These condenser and dynamic mics are designed to be held from almost touching the lips to about 6 inches away from the mouth. Anything further than that makes the vocal sound too thin. I saw him at the O2 and he held the mic at waist level. Ridiculous.

@GabrielAngelCurse Also, I am sure you realise by now, it is very difficult to give constructive criticism of anything 'Manilow' when these people who say they are 'fans' of his think he is a God and he can do no wrong. I was a fan of his for 30 years. No more. His latest CD's are dreadful, the man is simply doing it for the money and going through the motions on stage. HIs voice is now gruff, he growls the notes and it is time to retire gracefully.

Is that Ron Walters Jr. conductng the orchestra? It seems as though he's reading from a prompter. Still looks and sounds great! She had a couple of miscues while singing. And notice near the end where he reached out to put his hand underneath her elbow, she didn't respond in kind. Maybe her finace' was watching...
