I cant believe something so tragic has happened to such a good human being. I met Chi twice and he was so nice and actually gave me the time of day to hear my blab about how much the deftones had inspired me. From watching these videos it seems everyone had the same impression on him as i did. I know he will improve and god bless him and his family!

A lot of people don't wear seat belts because they fear of getting stuck in them in the event of an accident (my uncle witnessed a man burn alive because he was unable to undo his seat belt after an accident). While that is a statistically low situation to find yourself in, if that is something you fear and a reason why you don't wear a seat belt CARRY A POCKET KNIFE. I'm not sure why Chi decided not to wear his seat belt (and it's not really important) but I hope he continues to improve.

I've never been much of a Deftones fan but I have seen them live a couple times, nothing bad to say about them, but it would truly be a great thing to see Chi back up on stage again playing for the fans that do love him.Sayin' a prayer for Chi...cheers

Seeing him in that state breaks my heart ... I have loved this band since I was 14 years old .. Almost 12 years ago I got to meet Chi and got his autograph, he has always been my fav of the band .. I recently got to see them @ the Ogden in Denver, where I also had my meet n greet .. This band means so much 2 me and I have a couple one love for chi shirts .. I just found out about this doc and I have prayed and pray 4 him. Sergio Vega puts it down but Chi will be back on that stage someday ! XoXo

It' feels so weird that i'm moved by Chi's injuries. I've never met him in person, but it got me to thinkin.... He was part of my favorite band growing up. For several hundreds of hours Chi's hands liteally moved th subs in my car... It's amazing that this connection to his music, led to emotions due to his injuries.... like i would if this happened to my brother.

One love for chi, I've been listening to Deftones as long as I can remember, when I was only 6 years old, yes SIX! My brother who loved bullying me showed me Deftones, for some reason I actually loved it as a kid and I picked it up from here, now I'm 18 and I'm going nuts on Diamond Eyes, Deftones have been with me ever since my childhood and still is in my sophomore year, Chi will get better, he will function fully and he will return to Deftones rocking out as always. @charissa218 - after reading your responses it's obvious to me you haven't been following my one love for chi website.. you need to go back and read about dr. defina and his staff.. he isn't the only doctor on his team.. he DOES have a team of docs (medical docs, neurologists etc) working with chi. after an hour you decided another doctor seemed to be better suited? an hour? i spent hundreds of hours researching doctors in this field that had an actual success rate. IBRF was it! -gina

@charissa218 You seem quite skeptical of alot of things, but that whole mindset has to be done away with. What I mean by that is the whole rockstar=rich thing. Its just not true. Deftones know alot of bands and the only one that you can safely say are rich are probably Metallica, Slipknot, and Korn (including Head) since they all have mainstream success. But Deftones dont. They can live comfortably, but they are far from rich. But you have somewhat of a point in terms of the pulling together.

omg... I met him and talked to him for like 2 minutes after a deftones show in 06. I mentioned that I really got into his poetry bamboo parachute and the fact that I got to see my first deftones show on his birthday back in july 15 2000 and his (Diamond)eyes lit up ,smiled and said " that means alot to me man, and thanks for coming out tonight and to my birthday party 6 years ago" it was a thrill to meet him...Why the fuck do Bad things happen to good people?

chi looks alot better than I thought he would and the latest updates are very promising. Chi can move his arms slightly, and sometimes gives worded responses! And according to an interview I read from Abe, Chi looks at who ever calls him. So this really isn't the time to be losing hope, Honestly I was blown away when I first read about this wake up protocol on one love for Chi, I really hope it works.

@pattonPwr I'm shocked that you'd say something like that. When I first heard about the accident a year and nine months ago I said the same thing. But there are people faaaar worse off than Chi. And nobody's kidding themselves here. Chino will be the first to tell you that progress is very slow and between updates there isn't always much of a difference in Chi's condition. But the fact that Chi has improved this much on his own, and the high success rate tells me that Chi will play again.
