She's talking about people carrying guns around in public wherever they please, which isn't protected by the Constitution. The right to BEAR arms pertains to militias and self-defense. Maybe you should tell the Supreme Court that they should read up on history, since they already ruled in favor of what she said..

If a loved one dies by a handgun. There are a few things that have to happen. One of them is they were killed by a criminal which means if they had been trained in the use and carried a handgun themselves they might be here today and one less bad guy on the streets. If is was accidental shooting by a friend or family member then the person that was handling the gun did not have proper training and did not give the gun the proper respect it deserves. Chief Lanier is in the minority among US police chiefs and for good reason. The concept that legal handguns create gun violence is illogical on its face. If it were true then her force should disarm. If on the other hand police should have guns because they are trained then anyone who is trained, i.e., me, should also have them. It's a myth that Law Enforcement professionals have some magical right to use deadly force. Their rights to use DF are no more than civilians but nobody remembers that.

@WITHTEETH1 I had an uncle who was injured in a shooting. he went shortly after and purchased himself a handgun and a carry permit after he was able to finish the paperwork. i personally know more people whose lives were saved by carrying a gun than were damaged by not.

If a loved one dies by a handgun. There are a few things that have to happen. One of them is they were killed by a criminal which means if they had been trained in the use and carried a handgun themselves they might be here today and one less bad guy on the streets. If is was accidental shooting by a friend or family member then the person that was handling the gun did not have proper training and did not give the gun the proper respect it deserves. Or it was not stored properly when not carried
