Great stuff Jake. I like reharmonizing, but end up lost in the stratosphere somewhere, sounding more off than on. Two wishes: more theory/technique stuff like this, and PDFs for when we can't follow everything :)
I'm delighted, Jake... really, really well explained and demonstrated!
And it's cool how, despite it's definitely based on technical and theorical stuff... it sounds so good: it's because, of course, there's also that artistical side of the whole thing, which makes you choose what, when, how...!
Really clearly explained Jake. It's great to get some understanding in terms of chord substitutions for changes that move more chromatically. It's that "why" part that I'm missing the most.
Thanks so much for this Jake. I find this stuff utterly fascinating. It's pretty much way beyond me, although I'm always trying to wrap my head more around compositional and improvisational theory, and this is pure win in that department, even if it takes me a while to even remotely "get it".
Superb. Some beautiful harmonies coming out there. I'm hooked!
