  • Robert Downey Junior should do a movie where he play Gold! There's a big resemblance to me!

  • i believe that this player doesn t deserve 12 million!

  • i watched a video of chris moneymaker making a royal flush yesterday against Jason Mercier. Towards the end of the video Moneymaker said he knew he would win because he told his daughter he would to make up for missing her birthday to be there. Then i watch Jamie Gold, an unpopular player for his table talk and arrogance, make a call to his sick dad to tell him he won, with genuine sadness that he couldn't be there to see him do it.

    Just saying...

  • @JamesMetalHead93 stop it, ur making me cry . like u actually are

  • he literally went insane after the call lmao

  • To be fair, if you watch the entire tournament Gold was awesome. A dick, but awesome. Hasn't really achieved anything in poker since mind.

  • i bet paul is kicking himself for folding that fd and str8 draw.

  • that money is back to the pros now so well done jamie gold

  • winning is awsome agreed, but 6 million bones would be a nice conselation prize ^^

  • I've never understood this, but paul says "you convinced me" and jaime flips over. Paul could've seen jaimes card and folded cause he didnt actually make the call.

  • @visionquest82 yeh, but then gold asked: u call? and paul said yes, so ur statement makes no sense...

  • this moment is like having sex with a naomi russel or better you never forget

    when you win 12million dollars

  • See what money can do to ya

  • Gold looked waaaaaay too excited to not have a queen.

  • Jamie Gold is a great player? No, everyone knows that. But he became chip leader on day 2 and managed to win it all 4 days later.

You gotta give him credit for keeping his position of chip leader and for almost always get his opponent to call or fold when he wanted

  • hard heads up between them '

  • l gold needs to shut the fuck up hes prob broke already ! lol

  • You have to give Gold credit, he's very good at manipulating his opponent to call or fold

  • That is/was Gold's one true talent in this tourney. Nowadays I think everyone who plays him is in nearly 100% autocall mode against him, and he doesn't seem to know how to adjust his game.

  • @Tehui1974 i have to agree.... but in this tournament only, i've seen him talking to some other opponents in other events and he just fucks up everything, is like he literally showed his whole cards

  • @Tehui1974 yes, he can even convince players not to raise

  • @Tehui1974 .and next year, he went out in 4 hands. "luck" counts for plenty and he had it in 2006.

  • @johnnytheprick Oh, luck is required for sure. All of the main event winners needed it. I just think Gold is a better player than some of the other main event champs over recent years.

  • @Tehui1974 he is a terrible player, one of th worst, if not worst players to have won it.

  • @johnnytheprick Gold is better the Jerry "all in preflop" Yang, or Joe "all in with the worst hand but suck out" Cada.

  • @johnnytheprick

He's not even as close to as bad as jerry yang or cada actually. Or i should say, he wasn't in this tournament, he played a damn good tournament you can't deny that.

  • im a begginer in poker i didnt know talking trash was allowed

  • props to wasicka. lotta class and grace in him.

  • i would rather be 3rd than 2nd... do you know what i mean?

  • no lol

  • all you stupid hater commenters need to shut the fuck up, the one guy won 6 million, and another guy won 12 million, so all of you shut ur fucking mouths!!!!! these guys are garunteed richer than you fuckers will ever be

  • @3egnitsuj Only about 4 of the 12 million made it into Jamies pocket because of taxes and court settlements over split deals he had with other people pre tournament. He's also been losing a lot playing high stakes cash tables.

  • Jamie might not be a good player at all but I think he would be a very likeable person, he may have seemed like an ass but I can imagine that he is a pretty cool guy

  • Can someone explain for me where jamie's dad is? I didn't understand....

  • Jamie's Dad had been very sick, suffering from Lou Gehrig's disease and Jamie wanted to use the money in order to make his Father's life as comfortable as possible. His Dad passed away in December 2006.

  • Jamie said that he wants to win wsop to cure his dads disease , which costs a lot, few millions or so. His dad was sleeping, and Jamie called him to tell, that he did win, and now Jamie's father will be cured.

  • @Ikc13

yeah a few millions right.fuckin idiot.

  • 1st place and 2nd is a lot of difference man..

  • why does rank 1 get over twice as much as rank 2? that just bs, rank 1 should get 11 while rank 2 should get 7-8.

6 mil for rank 2 and 12 for rank 1 is just to big different.

  • Because there is a significant difference in taking 1st and taking runner up resulting in a big difference in prize pool money.

  • im sure he's not complaining with 6 mil though

  • jamie is certainly not likable but hes a pretty good poker player

  • fix the sound before you upload lol

  • One thing Jaime Gold is confusing opponents with his talk.

  • lol @ people defending jamie gold. If you knew ANYTHING about poker, you'd know that jamie gold is at best a average player, at BEST.

  • I agree he just got lucky and hit cards but i really think hes a very shitty to average player, you should watch his cash game play on high stakes fuckin terrible

  • Jamis Gold is a great player, anyone who can outlast 8,000 people and who was trained by Johnny Chan is a Pro.

  • gold suck ass

  • i would have loved to see a ten on the turn

  • imagine the look on his face lol

  • the best poker player wins

  • jamie gold on that occasion was very very lucky,i remeber a full house got on the river against a tris of aces...but i always say "we create our lucky" so,gold was lucky and great and wasicka made a sick call

  • jamie pushed a lot with draws earlier. If you look at his chipstack and the fact that he he potcommitted its usual to call if you have anypair heads up.

  • That was a bad call, can't understand it.

  • verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry bad call.

  • its easy to say it,,,but if you watched the whole of the final talbe u will understand it wasnt a bad call,,,,Jamie Gold bluffed and semi bluffed a lot in that final table,,,,and got caught in some hands, so ud better inform urself before saying anything stupid.

  • I totally agree with you, and also Gold's talk was confusing for the other players.

  • Damn, he's good.

  • stop dissing him.

he did something all of you jerks will never reach.

    he won the wsop.

you dont do this only by luck

  • It's too bad the current trend is donkeys like Gold winning the main event. Wasicka is head and shoulders the better player.

  • shit you guys see jamies chip stack

  • Holy shit. This pot!!!

  • a man who just won $12,000,000...

    fun to watch

  • Jamie Gold was lucky fuck at this Wsop!!!!!!!!!

He is not a poker pro at all! He is just average!

  • You're fucking jerkoff, Jamie played good. But of course he was lucky, nobody can win a tournament that big without it. And i've seen him talking great players in to calling him. I think that he is really good. By that i'm not saying he's the best or at the same level as brunson, negreanu, hellmuth those guys, but definetly above average !

  • DonniKong fuck you! You wanker!

  • I think youre a nice guy too (:

  • DonniKong I am a nice guy. You started to talk rude.

  • Im just tired of everyone dissing jamie gold, and when you leave a comment with the word fuck, you'll propably get a reply that has the same word (:

  • whatever!

  • God do I hate Jamie Gold.. Hated his attitude during 2006 wsop, he's unreal luckstreak and well just everything he did. arf

  • he said "alright, you talked me into it" and stood up, of course hes calling...plus he said he thought Jamie had a draw twice

  • he shouldn't have won this hand. it was in all the poker magazines at the time. Paul Wasicka was going for an 'allen cunningham' move by making the opponent think they are going to call. Paul Wasicka neva acctually said 'call' and was acctually just trying to get a reaction out of jamie gold. he didn't want to make a fuss about it though because he didn't want to cause a manic arguement, and he was happy with how he played and was happy to come second

  • I understand what you mean, because when he stands up and says you talked me into it he never says "i call" so he could say after jamie jumps up and down that he has not called? or what i wouldn't know the rules?

  • but paul fliped over his hand right away?

  • Just a douche...

  • I wonder how much he donated to the Lou Gherig's Disease Foundation?

  • He brought to court because he never paid a penny, but because he said online he had to give them money, he settled out of court

  • Jamie gold´s mom "its the happiest day of my life"

Well.. i thought that it was the day jamie was born but apparently money plays a bigger role than your kid.

  • when you see your kids suceed in life you are even happier because you raised them and becasue you are happy that they are happy.

Could also be the money, we will never know

  • if thats true then he deserved to lose

  • if you notice paul never said "call" he said "you talked me into it" and stood up. i read in a magazine that he did this to get a read off of jamie but then jamie flipped his hand over. paul said he just went with it cuz he didnt want to make a big deal about it.

  • I have 2 bracelets, 2 second finish, 4 split, and 1 fourth finish at multi-table tournaments so far for about 2 years on playing on-line(more than 180 entrants)

    I know I'm not a good player.

Most troubled hands I got broken with are

    Ak,Aj,At,jj,qq,kk,and AA.

I just can't fold with these hands.

  • IS BALLS A CUSS NOW?

  • In my opinion gold should shut up and let Wasicka make this hard decision!

  • Obviously table talk is a big part of poker.

If you can't handle it, then it's your problem as a player.

  • Yes but if someone is trying to make a descision you should let them think.

  • Gold is a douchebag

  • fkcing clever douchebag. top talking there.

  • paul is amazing

  • is gold broke yet ?

  • lmao @ "thatboy"... Jamie played good did he?? Well if I flopped the damn nuts every 4th hand and continued to have AA vs KK KK vs QQ etc... Id probably win a lot of tournaments

  • do they really get all that money...shiiiit

  • Say what you want, but Jaime Gold played very well during this event. Yes he got lucky, but he also played his A game. What a moment in sports. The biggest single payday ever!

  • im gonna win it and show all these donks how to play!

  • Look at all of that money (drool) :P

  • i have a heart attack

  • are you serious ? how do you explain how hellmuth got 11 bracelets ? he's so lucky ?

  • at one point or another, every bad player will catch as many cards as a good player, or vice versa. I'm gonna quote Doyle here,"You can be lucky once, but it's hard to be lucky for 30 straight years."

  • shut up. anyone who thinks that some n00b can win the wsop is a wannabe nobody themselves. yeah, we joke about chris moneymaker being crap but any top 20 finisher is a great player. period.

  • what an idiot, paul never said he was going to call, only said 'you talked me into it'

gold thinks that paul went all-in because he said that and flips his cards, but technically paul could have made the hand redealt, but he didnt want to be a whiner..

reputation vs 12milion dollars... hmm i would have gone for the 12mil

  • gotta give him props for talking him into it

  • he didn't say call !!!!!

  • what is goin on here?no jamiegold-disliking in these comments? :D

  • MY MUM

  • Jamie Gold is good

  • whoooo u r so right!!

  • can you buy the world series of poker on dvd. not 2003 or 2004 i have those.

  • He is good :)

  • he did have pocket 10s, not bad i guess

  • Honestly. I think some people are being rude. Jamie may have hit some luck on the final table, but the huge majority of hands he's played couldn't have been on tv. We have to assume hes a great player, you cant beat that many people by luck. Especially with all those pros in the ranks.

  • exactly.

  • jesus crist you people are just jelous that he won 12 million. he out lasted over 5000 people. how many of you assclowns were there. so what if he never does it again. were any of you people there. let jamie enjoy his 15 minutes of fame. so to all you people bite me

  • actually it was 8,757 people

  • tony G owns the scene

  • he seems like a good player to me

  • Gold won most of the races, hit the draws, and hit some lucky flops. It was funny to see him get eliminated badly in this year's main event. Gold is nothing but a fluke like Moneymaker.

  • ROFL YOU SO FUNNY MAN

  • Yup.. it's all luck, what people don't understand is that some people is luckier than others.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA u know what? helmuth, negreanu, gold should all go out an get a lottery ticket then!!!!!! and what about doyle brunson?? 50 years!!!! hell he must be the luckiest man alive!!!!! i truuuly believe that people with such attitude have dreamed of being great at poker, played it, lost, played it again, and lost, and walked away thinking they must have been "unlucky" -...no.. poker is about skill, patience and experience... three things which none of these ignorant people have.

  • wrong id say its 40% skill

  • Funny how if its a game of luck..all the same faces show up at finals tables.I'm a Negranau fan coz I like his easy goin style. Also a player like Matusow is great for this game..just like Tyson was great for boxing or Mcenroe for tennis.Fans love this stuff.

  • Wow, you don't know shit do you...

  • 1. you dont know how probability works. If you flip heads three times, you're not "up for a tails" next time.

    2. it's not a luck based game. You have to evaluate odds and other players. there's a harvard professor who agrees with me here..

  • Ok it's not luck all the way, you'll beat the occasional newbie or inexperienced chump, but once you acquire the basic set of skills, you are set to become the next C. Moneymaker or maybe not, depending on how lucky you are.

The evaluation of odds and other players will take you to a measly few percents of increased certainty at most... after that it&#
