I see a problem right away, DK has health hearts!!!!

If it's a country game the player has to lose on a single hit. Giving lives makes the game too easy for anyone to beat. A game must be challenging, this is not.

Also the 3d sprite work was iconic for the game, they should have only done 3D on the BG animation.

It's a shame, this game could have been perfect, oh well.

Believe or not, this game is ugly if compared to Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, it's a matter of fact. The control is unfunny and boring like hell. The enemies are poor and repetitive... just like the ideas, the music, the sound effects, the graphics, the gameplay, everything! Individually it's not a bad title but probably it's the worst donkey kong I've ever played in my life. Probably it's less funny than Donkey Kong Jungle Climber of nds or the old one for snes! A totally delusion.

My only hope is that you have option to turn health off so one hit your out unless you got your buddy with you and cant survive another hit until you got your buddy back again. Great game

Nothing will ever beat the original. Both Donkey Kong Country 1 and 2 hold way too many memories. I liked this game better when it was nothing but Rare and David Wise making a great game. Not saying Nintendo isn't great. Just saying Rare should have made this one as well and I would have been way more interested. And I don't like the factor that this game is easier. You did not get two hearts for each character in the originals. You got hit, and that was that. You died. I miss old games...

I am not bashing this game by any means. I am just stating my opinion that the originals are 100 times better and 100 times more difficult. Until Rare comes back with all their original people and makes Donkey Kong Country 4 on the SNES, I am not interested.

@EaseOfDisgust1296 I LOVED Donkey Kong Country 1 and 2, they were AMAZING games and had great childhood memories as well, but after buying this game and actually giving it a chance, it became my favorite in the series. It has awesome art design in it, very cool style, and is actually harder than the old ones. Sure you have more chances to get hit, but that's because you need them. I made a new file on the original and blew through it pretty quickly, this one is much harder
