  • is it better than fender mustang II?

  • Good amp, EXCELLENT review,

  • What do you recommend? An Orange CR20ld or roland 20x?

  • No headphone jack :(

  • @kjaem24 PLEASE can you tell me exactly what settings and efect knobs and how much for each dial i need to get sweet child of mine sounding so good like that!!!

  • @beachhutblues marshall is very good but only when it comes to combos and bigger amps

  • oh wow you played most of my favorite songs in this video... I was not even listening to the review i was just enjoying the music lol good job! :D

  • I just bought this :)

  • 9 pll have a bigg ass amp 3 time more money then this

  • I have this amp. It really is a great amp, simply amazing how it sounds for its size. HOWEVER as a blues player it makes me cringe sometimes because it's not the reverb I want out of it. Not that twangy reverb you know? I wasn't expecting some amazing sounding reverb of an amp that cost 120 euros though.

Apart from that, the overdrive isn't too shabby but i'd say use a pedal on clean channel because it'll sound much better.

  • The Roland 20W (or 20XL) has an extreme setting, Heavy Octave, Spring Reverb and weighs almost 20 pounds while the Roland 20X has Tube Drive and weighs almost 16 pounds.

  • Peavey kick marshall ,line 6 and roland ass any time any day

  • @livepunx Only marshalls... I don't see it kicking in the ass of line 6 and Roland's

  • @Sl1z3r well only marshalls and line 6

  • 05:38 Metallica \m/

  • whats the difference between the roland 20x 20W($130at best buy) and the roland 20w($150 at best buy) plz answer!!

  • @thecanuckian1

Sweet Child O Mine By Guns and Roses :)

  • @TheCrimsonViper

  • im gonna get one for the cleans i got a pedal for distortion ;)

  • @Ayjay717 What are the benefits of a distortion pedal

  • @reece4812 you get a heavier distortion than any amp can push out and you can switch directly from clean to distorted just by pressing the button with your foot there great man that way you can find a nice clean sound from the amp, play an acoustic part then press the foot pedal for instant distortion rather than bending down and switching it manually with your hand. many famous musicians use them another benefit is they make your amp louder if u want cuz theres a volume on the pedal too

  • @Ayjay717 Thanks I will be getting one then

  • I play infront of a crowd so would this amp work for me if I mic it or something??

  • as an owner of this amp i can honestly say... AMAZING clean sound... but unless you only use that its not the best. The built in distortion channels are not that great (overdrive is horrible). If you use distortion over clean, it should be great though.

  • What is the difference between the 20X and the 20XL?

  • I think 20x is much better than 30x as I have tried both.

  • I think 20x is much better than 30x as I have tried both.

  • @pablogvieira i'm going to buy a 30x... for little shows and for training, i think the 20x is good but for a show , for me.. is a little low.. i prefer the 30x

  • @Levygerards1

Andddd ... is it any good ???

  • 4:49 Hey Joe.. where you going with that gun in your hand?

  • Amazing amp and great review.

Dude, is this amp suitable for a small band rehearsal? Or is it too low?

  • My Cube's arriving via courier tomorrow, looking so forward to it.

  • How Many watts is it?

  • @metalxguitar its 20

  • I got 20X and this little sweety is so fucking good.

  • This was my first amp, I like it quite a bit. I'm curious, though, should I stick with it as my sole amp for awhile, or buy a second one soon?

  • @instantdeath99 Depends i guess, do you mean buy another cube 20 or you mean a totally different amp ?

I've got a few amps and i guess really they are all used in different situations, i don't have the 20x i just have the micro cube which is great for taking around my friends house and jamming but at home i rock through a head.

  • what about between this and marshall mg15dfx?

  • @thebaron231 avoid the marshall mg series it sucks!!!!

  • @darkwrath429

Yeah Marshall seems to be a bit over rated, they opened a small studio near me with one new big marshal and it didnt seem that good for the price.

  • NICE ...SANDMAN!!!!! hey is this amp ideal for metalica in general or just this particular song?

  • i bought the boss ds 2 pedal and i cant see big difference!i dont know!i think metal stack is very very good or what?

  • My first amp, loved it, always will, used it everyday until i bought a Randall KH120 with a 4x12 cab,

  • does distortion pedals sound good on the clean channel?

  • roland kicks marshall ass

  • @hhvolfan o yeah?????????????????

  • @hhvolfan in what sense?

  • @buffalo4321able We are looking at a Roland Cube amp, Marshall does not have anything even close to Roland in this Watt range. Across a broader spectrum, both companies have some pretty good amps. You're making too big a deal out of this. Just chill and stop pestering people. Not everyone is going to agree with you in this world so deal with it.

  • @hhvolfan not true. In smaller solid state combos, roland beats marshalls, but in tubes (not even sure roland makes them ) but those from marshall are better than roland.

  • @hhvolfan Peavey kick marshall line 6 and roland any time any day

  • @hhvolfan lol? u ever tryed a marshall tube amp before?

  • @gibsonsg995 I got a ValveState vs15 and I'm trying to sell it for the Micro Cube RX. It's all on Preference really..

  • @hhvolfan bullshit

  • @hhvolfan well mesa boogie kicks everybodys asses!!!

  • marshall is MUCH better

  • @buffalo4321able Marshall is better ?! hah, only because of 'Marshall' logo? lol

  • @Dadianooo no,buffalo, because of a thing called ""TONE"" WHICH IS NOT PRESENT IN THIS AMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @buffalo4321able are u fuckin kidding me ?

  • When I first got a guitar and amp I got this little beauty. Not going to buy another for some.

  • it's great amp, i just got one of this

  • what type of guitar?

  • @ironmaidenbeasty

I think that it is a telecaster

  • @ironmaidenbeasty gibson Les Paul baby!!

  • Thos this spund good with a bass????

  • Thank you for posting this. I'm getting one. Thanks

  • very good review. i just can´t see the control painel...

  • i have this amp... IT'S FUCKING SIIICK DON'T THINK TWICE ABOUT BUYING IT!!!

  • tomorrow i have this one :P

  • @mironas10 lol

  • Which pickups are good for getting clean tones?

  • @Quakelord1991 fingers *coolface*

  • @Kibezter I meant which pickups on the guitar. But I know now.

  • Would you recomend this one or Marshall MG4 15FX ? I'm only at home. Thanx

  • @bartek127 the roland buddy, the marshall mg sucks my mate has it the gain is also pretty weak on it the cube is brilliant, played it lots of times in my local guitar shop am buying one very soon

  • 4:55 Hey Joe! , BTW nice clean sound

  • I have one, but I never understood why an 24W amp would be called an 20x??? At least make it one more watt and call it the 25x...

  • @maxsims11 my vox is 23 watts and it says 15 ....

its just to make sure that you dont use less then 20 watt(15 with mine).

the spider 4 75 watt is 80 watt etc. etc.

  • i have a question. i have one of these, and i really like the effects that the "lead" guitar has, but if i want to switch from lead to clean while playing, then i can't really do so cause there's isn't a footswitch, i have some pedals, but is there a pedal that links with the amp or anything so i can switch from...well i think you get the idea, please reply. thanks alot! (some specific examples would be nice)

  • @TasteForDisaster try a BOSS FS-5U or BOSS FS-5L . there are many footswitches made for this purpose.

  • I'm getting this

  • yeah im gonna buy it too i have a les paul too :)

  • can anyone you you make a short list of every kind of cover/song he played please !?

  • the sound is wicked !!

  • I think you play Enter Sandman wrong because there should be slide but never mind. Cool review anyway.

  • looks like my really got better with the time and I don't really like much the disto on it. The clean and less dirty is still really good for me. It just miss the feel of a good tube amp. It is still one serious kick ass practice amp for the buck.

  • @hamelkarl your looking at the wrong reviews if you want a tube amp.. whats up with all the people always complaining its not a tube amp.. if you want tube then go pay an extra 1000$ for it and youll be happy

  • @MolsonEx1903 You doesn't always have to pay 1000$ to have a good tube amps. There's a lot's of good used tube amps everywhere for like 450$ and 500$ that are far better than this roland cube. Roland did put a noise gate for the distortion and it really kill the good distortion tone. That's what I was talking about. The speaker is also not that good. It's still possible to use a cab out and get a better sound. I find it very hard to get a good blues or heavy metal tones. Even with a pedal...

  • good for metal ?

  • I've read that it can do that no problem, although this thing isn't exactly stage worthy, because of it's low wattage.

  • Great Review. I'm thinking about getting this, I'm a beginner and for the price this seems like a great amp.

Thanks for doing the Pink Floyd stuff, that's what I really like, and it sounds great on this.

  • @mecon92

I'm a beginner myself and I bought this amp. I have to say that I'm very happy about it.

  • @mecon92 its the perfect room practice amp..

  • Hey, what is the best setting for pop-punk & punkrock with this AMP?

  • High treble and overdrive mode.

  • Comment removed

  • Here's what I got. use the bridge pickup with tone turned down to like 3 on the guitar. Then select the Tube Drive distortion mode with gain on 3. Make bass and mid around 7 and treble around 5 (this is out of 10, so halfway). Add a little reverb if you want. BTW to get chili peppers tone you really just need to have a strat and you're set.

  • can we use external processors with it?

  • Comment removed

  • price?

  • Hey, can i use this with a Epiphone SG Special and play blink 182 on it?

  • i blown up the orignal speaker 2 times now i have an Max 80 watt speaker in it and works much better

  • is he using a distortion pedale?

  • great review! 5/5! can you tell me please the guitar you are using? cheers! :P

  • i have this one and the 30x both kickass but the 20 has more of a metal tone to my ears..........gotta give this amp its props tho its sounds three times as big as it is

  • i like the Metal Stack option xD

  • Great little amp, actually gigged with mine, good sounds for clean and distortion. Very versatile, good demo!

  • @monkymonk6 Why would you gig with it? It's a good little cheap amp for practice but in my oppinion and many other people's it's a little bit bland, not the type of thing to gig with but good to have around the house none the less.

  • What would you guys recommend for a post-rock and heavy-metal player/wannabe player? The 20x or the 30x? Personally i don't think the 30x has the effects for metalish sounds.

  • 30x, more power

  • well, i play heavy metal like u and im gettin the 20x amp, mainly cos it has metal and metal stack, so it should be cool cos i play bullet for my vallentine, machine head and suff like dat.

  • i have a roland cube 20x and it works great. I love it.

  • I'm going to get one of these bad boys.

  • I wanted to buy this amp already, and now you have conviced me even more!!!!

    this review tells the story!!!

  • I had a roland cube 20 and I sold it to my cousin, I highly regret selling this amp and I'm gonna get a micro cube just for portable win :)

    Great amp!

  • I have this one but...i want a metallica distortion..

I do gain : full Treble : full, Bass :full and Medium : 0

But when i play it ...it sounds messed up x.x

  • @Luvinhas well its never gonna sound like metallica because they use full tube amps and they also use full and have stack size cabs so achieving their tone is merely impossible with small amps....unless its the kirk randall or a peavey rage or solo(those are the closest ones i can find tht are affordable)

  • vox's tend to be too trebly for my taste. I've always been impressed with the "meaty" sound from the little cube.

  • great review thank you ur taking ur time show us us it.

    IM so getting it

  • THATS MYYY AMP!:D YEEEEEAAAAH

  • This amp is good to Hendrix sound and funk ?

  • yes it is very good for funk

  • I use this amp to get really harsh and 'buzzing' distorted tones for my apoc grunge band.

It really sounds nothing like a real amp, but it's got an interesting distorted tone for it's small size.

  • This thing is great! Surprisingly loud for the size, quite versatile.

  • im stuck between this and the vox vt30 wat should i get

  • take the Roland 20x, i got the same, and it is amazing!!!

  • i got a roland and i am perfectly satisfied ....dunno about the vox.

  • nice review! how much did you get it for? :)

  • with cosm it $200.00

    without cosm its $100.00

  • What guitar and pickups did you use for this demo?

  • how can you get that sound i cant get a good sound for solos my sound sucks ass i have this amp (which i hate!!!!!!) i have a epiphone les paul with 81 emg pickups and a metalzone but my solo sound sounds like cheap mono crap

  • mostly comes from the fingers and right hand.

for lead tones just add delay reverb.

  • play better??? jk. better guitar would help. usually stock pickups r placed to compliment guitar. high end pickups on low end guitar i bad.

  • i have multiple chords and some pedals, im not sure how to use the pedal. specificly i dont know where to plug in chords or anything, can somone please write back with a description of how to plug it in. thnx

  • Nice playing! I got mine yesterday. My Squier Strat is coming tommorrow XD

  • It's really awesome. I have one, and it has many effects. Good for practicing with band.

  • i got the 20x its good i just cant find the good settings

  • bought it.

  • this 1, the the roland 15x, hb ga15 (tube) or whuat?

  • I wanna know, what guitar are you using?????

  • Stairway to heaven solo in there, nice

  • mad fucking wicked

i was thinking of getting one

it would deffinatly be worth it wouldnt it?

i think i'd get this over the 15x??

  • how do you actually make the jazzy sound and what are the other settings... i dont know help

  • No doubt it's a great review. Awesome playing. It's pretty difficult to decide to buy Cube15X or 20X.

  • if you dont care about buying pedals you can get the 15x, but well its better to get the 20x since it already have built-in effects (which the 15x doesnt, only distortion)

  • nice review and guitar playing :)

  • enter sandman. pretty sick dude!

  • Would you be able to get a decent Nirvana tone with this amp?

  • I would say yes with the overdrive or distortion setting with teh right gain

  • why do you have one

  • and i can toggle effectpedal or something else between?

  • i got this amp its ok im thinking of getting a fender g-dec

  • aaaaaaaaahmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm :P

  • if u see on the description of this product you can see tha they mention just delay / reverb and changing chanels not efx

so before starting being silly get information about what you re saying son of a bitch

  • this doesnt have a footswitchable efx

  • its optional...you have to ask for it when you buy..but it costs more...

  • I have this amp and i just hate the bee-like distortion it got, and not matter what i do, still has the bee-like "zzzzzz" sound when i pick a note or play a chord.

Reverb is crap, looks like you're playing in a shooting range.

    Delay is fine

Clean is marvelous, but it's not useful to me as i love metal =/

  • are you sure it isnt your guitar or the cable ?

  • Maybe it's because of my guitar. I found some nice tuning in while trying to find better sound, and I did, by increasing bass to around 120 degree angle and reducing gain to 90 degree angle, I let treble always maxed.

My guitar was quite cheap, maybe the problem is the caps, I don't know.

  • What song is it at 4:52 ?

  • Hey Joe - Hendrix

  • who doesnt know that?!?!

  • What guitar do you use?

    Sounds really great!

  • Yes, but it will depend on your guitar caps quality too.

  • Great video man.

    +1 subscriber

  • yes, its a very good beginner amp!

i used it as mine beginner amp! :)

  • Nice, thx for making this vid :)

There are some sound demos on Roland website, but not as many as in this video. I especially wanted to hear how the "tube amp" sounded like.

  • is this a good starter amp? if, so i'll buy it right now =D

  • i must this is better than marshall 15dfx
