No, you're wrong. These were dead-ball fouls that happened after the whistle... they offset, but you don't replay the down.
Even if the Florida player was the only one penalized in this situation, the refs still messed up because they stopped the clock. The clock should have kept moving, regardless of the penalty... those extra 35 seconds gave UT the chance to kick the game-winning field goal.
The SEC apologized after the game - not for the no-call on Wade, but for the clock mismanagement.

It should have been off set penalties, that is probably the worst call i have ever seen, even though it won us the game, we didnt desserve it.

I'm not sure which is the worst call. This one or the 2001 playoffs raiders and pats when brady fumboled and they called it an incomplete pass. Anyway both just terrible calls that make me really pissed. Any thoughts on which one is worst.

never see the first one? on that play he CLEARLY saw them both! And the clock never started after that and gave tennessee easily another 30 seconds.

ok so if the ref is staring at two players fighting and CLEARLY sees both of them throwing fists he should throw the flag on both players. That is not a rule and you know it. So your saying anyone can go up to any other player and get a free shot, just as long as it wasn't retaliation? this was a terrible call that may have cost florida the game

Even though im a huge tennessee fan! That was a pretty bad call, i mean i do hate florida but that was a bad call, but who really cares about that game, tennessee probably wouldve won anyway! lol, but really bad call, but we will beat florida this year though!

That sucked to watch then, but ever since that game Tennessee has been Florida's ***** in football. Especially 2 years after this, Dallas Baker himself scored the Game Winning TD to win 21-20, saving a national championship season. GO GATORS!

They always go after the second guy, proven fact cooler heads always prevail. Baker should of just taken the slap and the win, but I sure am glad he did retaliate. Go Vols!!!

That was one of the worst calls I've ever seen. The side judge was standing right there watching the whole thing. He should have either let it be or called off-setting penalties.
