  • why not try it if all your choke defence gets stuffed? Your going to get choked anyways, why not try and dig your chin into the forearm? hey maybe you might get lucky and hit a pressure point.

    thanks for sharing

  • This is very dangerous if you dont have a moutguard, be careful

  • thats a pretty cool move but i dnt see anyone giving up an rnc even if their arm is hurting

  • It all depends on how you apply it. Its basically meant to be used to quickly get the grip to loosen on the anchor of the choke. once you do that its very easy to apply an arm bar to the open arm to get the choke to be released. however for the mma boys once you feel that choke ease off its prefered to drop down and try to shoulder toss them as opposed to catching some serious fist action with your cheek bones.

  • how can anyone not see this is a desperation move, the arm is already under the chin. good video i cant wait to try it

  • Thank you

  • that will not work against a properly executed choke, once the arm is under the chin the only way to defend it is to pull the opposit arm down & off your head.

IF YOU TRY THE "FORE ARM CRUSH" WITH AN EXPERIENCED GRAPPLER IT WILL NOT WORK. IM SORRY

  • I agree completely. This is a desperate move for a desperate situation. It works infrequently enough to deserve the low rating (2.5 stars as of this writing).

We all need options and should leave no stone unturned in our search for those options.

I've been dissuaded from a rear choke or two when this defense has been used on me in the past. If it gives you pause to think, wriggle, or change your position, it's fair game to try.

Good debate to have! Try it a couple times and report back.

  • you also can't pull the opposite arm down and off if the RNC is applied correctly so your criticism is very harsh. as a last gasp measure it's worth knowing

  • @JAQ4

I use a foot lock in a desprate situation works way better.

  • @JAQ4 ya i dont its very effective, if your willing to use your hands to do something other then pry the arms off you, reposition his legs so the anckles over lap (like full gaurd) then triangle your legs over his and pull back forcing him to tap due to his own anckles crushing each other...works everytime, if you dont pass out first :)

  • no description as to what he's doing to make it work, desperation? didnt work for me on a begginner dont get to this point in a match ever

  • Sometimes you can't help but be in this position. This is a desperation attempt at loosening up his arm so you can move into another escape or position. If his arm is behind your head, there is no escape for this choke, so what then? Tap or nap? Or try something innovative, risky, and different.

  • i done this on my brother and i had to tapout coz he jus wouldnt give up..i dont know..it didnt work forme..maybe it will on others?

  • Don't sweat it Richeezy. It's more of a temporary defense/distraction than a reliable escape. It's a fun move to try, but I don't count on it unless I'm getting choked by a total noob. Thanks for your comment!

    Dave

  • yea true that..i got my brother to do it on me..it did hurt..i guess if u hit the nerves in the forearm it'll reali hurt them..nice move though! sori if it lookd like i woz goin against this move, i jus shared my experience..chur bro

  • I think it's valuable for people to try things before they start bagging them. I tried this and it worked a treat - thanks for the post :-)

  • Are you actually suggesting pressing your own head so that your chin will make pain on his forearm and make him submitt? That is the sillyest thing I have heard of, this will never work, learn proper way to escape RNC.

  • I'm looking for the okinawan-shuri-ryu version, and in that verison you're not sitting but this seems pretty similar :D

  • I'll try anything!

  • Try it!
