RIP to both my grand mother's as they both used to sit with me as a child and play card's while listening to music like this! i truly miss them both but as long as the music they loved still live's on so will they!
@LordAxalon Hope you feel better. Though I don't know you I felt your sadness reading your message and listening to this song... plus my grandfather is really sick and everyone expect him to die (T_T)
@alyssea84uk thanks for your comment i was feelin pretty down that day but im a bit more up today, i wish you grandfather all the health in the world and hope he recover's quickly.
As in the recording of "Stardust", I think this is the Gordon Jenkins Orchestra. Like "Stardust" this romantic arrangement for strings is exquisite, The Mantovani sound was gimmicky, and doesn't compare. Another perfect song, perfect arrangement, perfect vocal. What more could anyone want?
@okellydokelly It should be "you're" or "you are". I do not suppose you have heard of an opinion. Nor, apparently, do you understand that a comment such as "and your (sic) the expert" adds nothing to the discussion, but is the response of an empty-headed dolt.
It is forever.....NAT "KING' COLE is forever. Just imagine having played his song(audiophiles CD) on those quality audio equipment, you 'll be glued to it! Nobody has done better with this number!
This sort of music will never fade simply because like anything that has real class, it will stand the test of time. Can you imagine rap or whatever passes for music these days last as long as tunes like this.
You have to give Victor Young his due for the sublime orchestration. I love that as much as the song. E.g. listen to the orchestra during "When I fall in love, it will be completely."
his song is as old as me (Indro Saksono/Indonesian- born in April 1952). The Poem is perfect - and so was the singer. I remember that in late 50's my parents sung these kind of songs - they learned them from cinemas and radio as well.

It really is a shame that profiteering has robbed us and the music industry of such beautiful music. I wish my generation still had this quality of music creation and lyricists of this high a caliber. I pray that it comes back some day.
@LuxferusAnimus7 That's why I'm introducing my third grade class to this type of music...they just sit there with their mouths open....and say..Mrs. Salaam..that's jazz...
I can totaly relate to this song.....Cause I really wanna fall in love and i want it to last forever, cause everything less than that would be too short
I'm only seventeen and I love this song, it reminds me of the night I met my girlfriend. I would love for music like this to be brought back, no swear words required to make a very beautiful masterpiece.
THIS is how you sing. If a martian came down from outer space and enquired "What's this thing you call singing?" I'd sit em down and put this on, and say "This is how ya sing boys," Matchless.

This song is hypnotising. Absolutely beautiful.

The only complaint I have is that they've made the strings a little too Mantovani - a classical sound, I think, would be better.

Not a flaw anywhere, Nelson Riddle background, Nat Cole singing. I bought this album in the 50's and I would not part with it.

The word perfect is used far too often these day's to describe fairly good music. THIS song however is perfect in every possible way.
