  • Very Nice Huh?!? (in Borat's voice) :)

  • Is the watch face so dark it's hard to read

  • you kind sound like Christopher Walker ha and nice watch! good review

  • too big for me!

  • Wht are the measurements: hight, thickness, width and weight? Plz hep

  • you sound like a douche

  • lol borat

  • dude you have a big wrist

  • The gx is still bigger than white xl

  • 0:25 G-Shock Laawgo HaHa

  • ...it's nice, but do you have anything larger?

  • is niiiiice

  • @riswinashraf HOwdy..yes, the glass is scratch proof (but not resistent, since it is mineralglass and not sapphire glass, like on some waveceptor watches)..unless it is not antimagnetic (look at the case bottom) i would recommend not to put it on speaker or magnetic fields..unless it is no analouge watch, there are no hands which can be misaligned.^^

  • I'm a big fan of the original 5600 series which probably enjoys the status of being Casio's best selling series of G-Shock. The GX-56 obviously takes design cues from the 5600 series but strikes out in my opinion. It's just larger without necessarily giving anything more---and no, the A-gel inside of the case doesn't count. The Frogman and the Mudman watches at least had a unique look to them. I think the GX-56's obnoxious appearance drowns out its good points. Still, taste is subjective.

  • is this worth the money?

  • @maxbon22 Definitely. I own this watch and love it..... thought it would be to big on my 6.5 inch wrists, but it looks fantastic. I'm thinking of buying the other colors now.

  • hi there

How long does the battery last after getting charged in the sunlight ?

  • @jdj028 you can put it in a dark drawer after full charging and it will go at least another 12 months (i promoted these watches in department stores )

  • I'm leaning more toward the orange Riseman than this one. It has more features like reading the temperature, altitude and pressure, it's also a little cheaper!

    What do you think?

  • @OrangePHX im thinking the same thing really, thats a good point mate

  • can you show us the light PLEASE!!

  • Very nice watch , I thought it is the biggest G . It can be ,but not in all dimensions

    for example G-7900 dimensions are : 50,0 mm x 52,4 mm x 17,7 mm

    and GX-56 are :53,6 mm x 55,5 mm x 17,5 mm .

I like both of them :D

  • since this model is solar-rechargeable, does it mean that we dont have to change the battery at all in the future?

  • @jazdee I'm pretty sure about that.

  • @disinsider thanks man, got mine already :)

  • What is Mud Resistance? Is it not the same as the water proof feature on the 5600 series?

  • @OrangePHX Actually it's the mud resistance literally, so the watch has mudproof buttons (they're covered with the red plastic instead of just metal ones on the other models) and the watch has a kind of red protection cover in the back of the watch so you could dive them in dirt and nothing happens.

  • @disinsider

So what would happen if the 5600 went into the mud? It is waterproof as I have worn it in a waterpark, swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, etc..What makes the GX56 so much better than the 5600?

I'm interested in the Orange one.

  • @OrangePHX Nothing serious will happen to any g-shock dropped in the mud. They're g-shocks, right? :) But I had trouble washing off sands out of my GA100 couple of times - it was below the buttons. Here the buttons are protected with the extra cover so does the back case. Casio claims that they filled this watch with the a-gel which makes them even more shock resistant then before.

  • @disinsider

    Sounds nice.

    I bought the GW5600J-1 for $67. It's solar atomic.

Do you think the GX-56 is worth it? How much it cost?

  • @OrangePHX I bought it, so, yes, I think it's worth it :) I paid 119 Eur and got back 18% thanks to tax free shopping. It's more expensive than GW5600 and my GX is not atomic version - just tough solar, but to me it's all about design as well as other signature g-shock features - not the price really. Atomic version is more expensive and they don't sell it in Europe or US.

  • @disinsider

Hmm how much USD is 119 Euro? I know the Euro is worth a lot more. lol.

I see the orange gx 56 for like 250+ usd. that's pretty expensive

  • @OrangePHX About 160 USD. Those you see for 250 is japanese models with atomic module added. They are more expensive.

  • Hi There,

Great clear review. I have the GXW-56 in orange, which I also like very much. I see you're from Russia. Wow, your English is very good! You should make more G-Shock reviews :-)

    Kind Regards,

    Sjors of G-Peopleland

  • @sjors454 Hi, Sjors! Thank you very much for the kind words :) I thought about purchasing the orange ones but I have nothing orange in my garderobe to accompany the watch, so I chose the black and red ones.

Unfortunately my english isn't as good as I wish it was :) I'll try to make couple of reviews soon.

BTW - I've read many of your articles on the classic Shocks - you did awesome job on this HUGE lineup! Keep it going so we all g-shock fans can learn more about models back in the days!

  • Awesome Watch! thanks 4 review

  • Awesome watch, thanks for sharing the unboxing! Can't wait for them to be released in the US.

  • @sriggles thanks! :)

  • cool

  • @VolodymyrOnyshchenko Go ahead, can't wait to see it! I tried the orange ones, but I have nothing orange in my garderobe, so I've decided to purchase black ones :)

  • where did you buy this watch?

  • @teeparker1967 Paris :)
