  • thanks for the Uploads. . i watched them all straight through. . PEACE!!!. . The Eturn

  • You can tell he didn't like the "smile here and say" request. He's probably heard that so many freaking times.

  • great interview. I watched all ten parts.

  • Ironically it's coming out on bluray lol

Thanks for this interview, was fantastic to listen to him speak.

He sure can talk even after a toke of weed.

  • why is the interviewer turning into a geek toward the ends. who's kids watch Kevin Smith stuff? lol

  • This is a great interview, I'm shocked it isn't one of those things you can buy on DVD because I'd probably get it if I saw it in a store. It's an amazing look into the mind OF Kevin Smith and his takes on film making, bravo sir I appreciate the work you've done.

  • this was a great interview thanks for uploading it. Are you kind of friends with Kevin Smith because it kind of seems like you've known him for a while.

  • "it's online." yes, it is. I can guarantee.

  • he was great in die hard 4 i love his part

  • "bluray, i lold

  • Just watched the whole interview, you done a great job dude! Kudos

  • Who cares if he has a bong in frame, he said he smoked a joint a few hours before the interview started in the interview!

  • What bong do people keep referring to? The cat thing is not a bong

  • @xxsandmanxx02 Its right above his right shoulder the black thing :) looks like one anyway.

  • @xxsandmanxx02 The black thing on the left.

  • Seth funny?

  • @hallinilla. Not sure may be the green thing to the left of the screen. Not preoccupied with that although it would be funny if it was :). Great interview from both sides. Also, how would i contact Kevin Smith? I would greatly appreciate having an email address etc. Thanks :)

  • What bong are people talking about? There are dvds, a cat thing, and a ladder.

  • lol bong on the bookshelf

  • holy shit, this series never ends.... *end of 2001 moment, eyes roll to back of skull*

  • I love that when an interviewer mentions his kids wanted to come over and Smith was just like "We got dogs..." - class act :)

  • Great interview, thanks so much for doing this.

  • Please dont stop making dick and fart jokes movies

  • You give some great interviews, man. Favourited and subscribed!

  • I loved the interviews. Really good stuff. Thanks!

  • Thanks for posting these!

  • his vocab is SO intellegent!Yet he speaks so...,like a teen or something!its sooooo kool!!!!

  • Awesome!

  • Thank you so much for posting this. Definitely enjoy hearing Kevin talk about life and whatnot. Could listen to the guy for hours and I know, surely, some of us have w/the Evening series, Smodcast and so forth. Cheers.

  • great stuff thanks for posting

  • haha last comment was the best...really blue ray? that's the epitome of comedy through irony.

  • Much thanks for posting all these interview clips. Really interesting stuff.

  • The thing is he talks about about the cinematography, but its the dialogue people relate to and find hilarious. His dialogue kicks the shit out of 'better movies' and I enjoy all of his movies, chasing amy is my favorite though.

  • You know what? I'm probably not the best to comment on Smith because I loved MALLRATS and JERSEY GIRL. I was NOT a fan of CLERKS and "didn't get the hype."

But those other two I really enjoyed. (In fact MALL RATS was what turned me on to Smith.)

Be all, end all, I think he summed it up best when he said (my paraphrase), "Movies mean different things to different people."

Great interview series, folks. Smith is a fantastic speaker.

  • yes he's not a huge movie maker.. but i bet hes not really hurting for money right now.

  • Is that a bong on the bookshelf?

  • yes it is!

  • I love his comment about Clerks on Blu-Ray because - he's not wrong. It loosk ugly but yeah it's fucking brilliant movie. Quintessential 90s stuff. Thanks Stanahan for doing these videos. How did you get the chance to talk to him? I would have been ecstatic to interview him, mind you I'd be more asking about his build up to Clerks because that where I'm at in my life at the moment, like "How the FUCK do I get to Cannes with a finished movie that I've made?" you know. awesome

  • damned great series of interviews.. well done and thank you

  • the guy who played randal was good, but Jason Lee in Clerks is pretty close XD

Great interview, was a very fun and inspiring watch.

  • you mean jason mewes? cuz jason lee wasn't in clerks. he was in mallrats, if that's what you were thinking.

  • Yeah I meant Mallrats thanks :D

  • Is this somehow gonna be available to download or purchase? This was an excellent interview Stranahan - give yourself a bow.

Speaking of downloads - did you notice the way Kevin looked when he mentioned that Threevening was available illegally online? This guy doesn't make the Speilberg money everyone assumes he does. It's a Huge shame people so casually take the money from his pockets & his family's mouth like that. One should always pay for the work we admire most. Artists deserve every penny

  • yeah!! :D

  • Fine last words! xD

  • i love the fact that he didn't move the bong off the shelf so it was still in frame

  • @kashmirwellington yea its in every video i love it :)

  • My favorite smodcast episodes are, and forever will be the ones where Kevin is baked out of his godamn mind and just rambles. Then him and Mosier will casually proceed to engage in a roleplay. Awesome shit. But yeah, no doubt in my mind he got extremely baked before this interview, I mean just look at what he does at 3:19, hilarious!

  • oh yeah. definately.

  • He actually says he did in one of the other parts

  • TY for posting this interview. Does anyone know where I can find the Evening with Kevin Smith series?

  • Anywhere that's awesome enough to have it.

I've found evening with at blockbuster a few times.

But for evening harder and threevening I had to go with piratebay. Though you can find a lot of stuff from the series here on youtube.

  • Screw that noise - always pay for what you get from Kevin - He doesn't get paid nearly enough for what he does.

Always support your favorite artists - resist downloading other than to check out new talent [And even then if you like it go out and pay for what you love]

  • At 3:05, what are you guys talking about? I was kind of confused.

  • the guy that playd randel should hav been used alot more he could have had a career in films

  • Wow, he's so fucking high.

  • I see a bong in the background

  • Where?

  • the third visible shelf from the bottom on the left.

the far right side of the bookshelf

  • If you're serious, where?

  • Clerks is coming out on blu-ray. Gross.

  • why is that gross? do you hate blu-ray? that's understandable.

  • clerks is great, but on blu-ray thats beat

  • thanx for posting this

  • man kevin smith is awesome, his movies rock all of them, who ever says he sucks or his movies are bad can f*ck off, you over think it

  • I've read his books and all the way though all I could think was man, I just wanna chill and play poker with this guy, he's so down to earth and humble that he's instantly likeable.

  • Thank so much for the upload, dude. All of em were really enjoyable.

  • Great job, I can listen to Kev talk all day. I appreciate how gracious he was when you where gushing.

  • Thanks for posting these.

All of them fascinating, engaging, and a blast in general.

  • Kev is an inspiration to all us rutted twenty somethings that dream.

  • love your interviews

  • Thanks heaps for posting this - excellent absorbing stuff.

  • is that the last one?

  • Yep

  • Wow, thanks for this interview.

I expect you to be losing a bunch of subs now it's done though.

  • @Stranahan Great work dude. Really enjoyed this interview.

  • @Stranahan Thanks again man, great interview - although with Kevin Smith all you gotta do is suggest a topic and you're good right :D - This kind of thing is where Youtube actually justifies its existence. Bravo :)

  • @Stranahan Oh, haha, fantasic dedication too. Thanks again, so much.

  • @Stranahan I really appreciate this, Stranahan. I am, like you said yourself in one of the parts, someone who has come from watching clerks as a teen to someone who's invested in film and the art now. And to be able to practically have an hour long conversation with KS.. I'm glad I found this. If you were to sell it, I would buy the DVD.

  • Oh wow, there's a third Evening With? Gotta see!

  • It's okay. But if you listen to the SModcast regularly then you've heard all the stories already.

Apart from the DIE HARD one. That's new.

  • You could try using blogtv. Personally I'd love to see anyone from viewaskew on blogtv too. would be entertaining

  • I love these interviews

  • I'm so happy that I've found this interview. Tnx!

  • Thanks for the interview. These then clips are by far the best Kevin Smith interview I have seen online, or even tv, ever.

  • I have loved every second of this interview series. Great work, Stranahan!

  • awesome

  • so when was this taken?

  • this is a great interview

  • Great work
