Suzy. You can steam acrylic. If you've got a steamer, great, if not hold the iron about 1 inch above the fabric and give it a couple of blasts of steam then gently pat the fabric into shape, then leave to dry - doesn't take very long. I did this with a jumper I made and it didn't kill the acrylic. Definitely helps seams etc. to lie flat, just don't overdo it :)
I have the same problem. I was going to post this question on the message board (can't post the link - YouTube won't let me) but I see you have already done it.
I've posted my reply but it might not be too helpful.
Hopefully someone will be able to offer some advice.
I really like the way you do the bands on this video. I usually knit the bands separate and put them on with the hague linker but I get nothing but problems. So I will be sticking to this way in future.

@Pythonaria
I did that on the last cardigan I knitted and you're right, it does help.

Can this method be used for attaching a round neckband to a jumper as well?

@kiwigirl5010
Yes, I think so. I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work.

Great video Susan! It has helped me tremendously. I never seem to get my neckbands to sit right, so this has made such a huge difference.
Thanks once again.
