IRON MONKEY LOOKED LIKE TIN FOIL CHIMP!! CRUMBS ONE OF THE ILLEST OF THIS ERA SON!1 BIG UPS KILLAFORNIA B-BOYZ!! HE COULDN,T HOLD DONNYS PUMAS FOR REAL...
i thru this event in 99 it was the all elements show .and iron monkey taunted him all night plu this battle almost happend at freestyle session crumbs told me first chance he was gonna wrek him. iron monkey shoulda learned the phrase dnt start none there wont be none plus it was the first time he did the matrix im glad to have been a part of history .but it was even crumbs busted all night they had breaks and crumbs had just did the showcase right before iron monkey just got served.
the beat is james brown/clyde stubblefield's "funky drummer"--it's likely the most sampled break beat of all time. it was recorded in '69 but an extended version is found on 1986's "in the jungle groove"
Soloqueue has a good point--iron monkey had just finished battling, I mean come on. Now, don't get me wrong, Crumbs is ill as fuck, def one of my influences, and so is Iron Monkey. But even if Iron lost, NOW I think Iron Monkey would seriously smoke Crumbs.. watching him at cellspace every monday he's been rippin it.
@TheRealist well Crumbs busted some monster rounds in the judge show case right before this-he called iron monkey out wile he did it too lol. plus he was cyphering hard all night. Iron monkey did get way better all of a sudden i agree-both OG's
ahahaha I remember this one. Crumbs was a judge in this and Iron monkey was calling out Crumbs like the whole night. So Crumbs calls him out after the battle is done and serves him on a platter.
In Iron Monkey's defense, it was post battle and he was fatigued. Crumbs was fresh and hadn't even taken a set yet.
@soloqueue there is no defense for iron monkey he should learn the phrase dont start none there wont be none he asked for before this event at the fs i thru this show in tucson az in 99 the all elements show and crumbs told me first chance he was gnna wrek him and thats what happend ill post the whole event so u can see the taunting crumbs was untouchable in 99
@soloqueue i dont have respect for someone who waits til the END to call someone out by the time theyre mad tired......call em out next time when theyre fresh
@thrillseekers2010 i wouldn't have made a difference to be judging usually your more experienced and accomplished that the people your watching. crumbs would have still destroyed him, monkey is good but crumbs is on another level.
quelqu'un pourrait me dire sur quelle vidéo de bboy crumbs fait une coupole au ralenti sur l'intro du son de Souls of mischief??? merci a celui qui me retrouve ca
look up the battle I told you, kmel vengeance remind crumbs in the search. You'll see crumbs ( guy in this video) perfectly matched up if not beat kmel, the guy you said he was a "rookie" in comparison to.
So you're telling me you knew guys who could do stuff like at 0:10, flare in to 90 and while doing the 90, threading leg through in to the splits? You knew guys who could do numerous backspins with part of it on the back of their head and neck?
yeah, and all of these guys who enter these underground battle learned and practiced on the streets, halls, parks, etc. Man you really don't know your history.
There's so much footage of guys like this, mainly breaking on asphalt, at a basketball court, where ever, and these events are underground. You still don't realize underground just means not mainstream, not in the media funded by corporate titans.
My comment was actually for a post you made a while back. You were talking about on thing being more underground than the next. How do I not know my history? There you go again talking out your ass. Read my comment again.
You didn't know who Iron monkey or Crumbs were, you talked about them as if they were some random nobodies.
The only knowledge you have about hip hop, seems to be your high school hallway. Your supposed moves you guys were doing, all stemmed from many people, who I don't think
You didn't just say the battle sucked, you called them "rookies." You also said bboying peaked and that it can no longer grow because there's only so much things you can do as you stated.
Wrong, YOU blamed the limitations of the human body for the movements being similar. I originally said it peaked in the 80s for the same reason it is doing so now. The battles became predictable. Both sides know what the other is going to do. Understand that if a child started to dance they would indeed be excited over things that they never saw before, but for a seasoned vet, it's like "Been there, done that." Get my point now?
@gitserved56 It didn't peak in the 80's because of that idiot. It died out because the media made it in to a carnival of moves, not dancing and hired anyone who could just spin on their backs. And all the real underground guys got jibbed, and broke because of no jobs after it died out in the media.
@gitserved56 They still kept it alive in their small circles, but as a dance it never died out to those who really loved it. AGain, it peaked in the MEDIA and mainstream in the 80's but not because of moves getting old in real underground circles.
YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT STOP TALKING STUPID!
@Holyfiremikey You really proved that you have no life. Some people lose interest when things become redundant. Some don't.......like you. That is how you can keep wiggling around doing that corny shit you call dance and actually think you are still relevant...or ever were for that matter. YOU ARE A CORNY ASS DOUCHEBAG THAT BRINGS UP COMMENTS THAT WERE POSTED A YEAR AGO!!!! GET A FUKKIN LIFE!!!! Whack ass lil boy.
@Holyfiremikey "To be honest I was not impressed by either one of them. As for raping..... I got raped for the 4 minutes of my life it took me to watch this crap and post." That comment got your panties all bunched up and led to page after page of you crying about why this battle is so special in your heart and mind and how im a poser for not liking it. MY OPINION!!!! Stop being so feminine. BITCH!!!!!!!! Waaah!!! MY PUSSY HURTS. LAME........
So basically you said these guys are amateurs when they are underground legends, and you said bboying has lost its possibility to expand. You attacked top bboys and bboying itself, you didn't just talk about this battle moron.
Dang man either you have alzheimer's, or you're just straight up fronting.
Look, they had to be rookies at one time or another or did YOU forget? Someone can't just jump in the game and automatically be a "Legend." This performance is far from legendary. I never said it lost its possibility to expand. Just that I see the same thing in each battle. The possibility is still there, just that innovators are few and far in between.
Thus, you dont' know your history, plain and simple, the fact you couldn't understand what I meant by that shows you don't know what you're talking about on many levels.
I laugh for a whole page and you call it "crying like a girl." How does that even make sense?
It doesn't, because you haven't been coherent this entire time we've dialogued, good day.
Knowing who guys like this are is not worshipping them as you constantly state. For anyone who really has been in the bboying game even for a year, it's basic to know some of the people who were very innovative in
influencing it. Maybe you didn't know but those threads and moves all your friends were doing, came from LOZ, GZC, and SEC crew and this is undisputed. Maybe you only saw it indirectly through your friends, but I guarantee you they got it from those crews from watching footage or maybe also indirectly seeing it from someone or through someone who knew them.
By the way in the video at 1:51, dude is headspinning on the back of his head, the back of his head, don't tell me that's not innovative. Headplants like that, and the threads you see coming out in this video, if you claim about people needing to bring something new name one move or tech you created. You keep talking but you still have not shown anything behind your mouth.
To be honest I was not impressed by either one of them. As for raping..... I got raped for the four minutes of my life it took me to watch this crap and post.
This is the comment that got you all worked up in the fist place. What for? I told you I had seen this before and the battle really wasn't all that. I explained how I was bored of seeing the same moves(anyone would get bored of repitition especially after 15 years.) There are people doing variations and complex combos. I like that.
I thought it was going to be good. That's why I watched it. Watch the name calling, as I am trying to be the mature one by not referring to you as something other than your name. :)
not my voice tone, facial expression, etc. I'm not raging in my apartment smashing the keyboard, it's because you just read my words and you interpret my emotional state based on how you feel when reading it.
I'm sitting and each time I've commented have been sitting calmly just typing like I would type
The fact is you're like a basketball player who's played for fifteen years and then you watch a video of Michael Jordan saying, "who is that dude, he's boring I've seen that all before."
Anyone would then say, "what, you don't know who he is? He's a legend."
That's why when you claim to be some sort of veteran in this but you don't even know BASIC stuff, you look like a phony.
I can see you with a pouty staunch look on your face, on a literal huge and overweight high horse looking down at us little ones. With you saying, "hello peasants, I've come with knowledge and only facts, I have come to bring truth to you."
make like this video from 1999 was the first time he's ever used these moves, and that's how you judge the whole "I've seen these moves from others in my school in 99, that means Crumbs wasn't one of the first."
I still say you have no life. I started high school in 95. I never said Crumbs wasn't the first. I just said that I saw this before. That makes you an illiterate pole jocker with nothing to do. Plus, just about everything here is sloppy except his first set. You know your moves have to be crisp. Then you bring up gymnastics? That is a bit more difficult than yoga buddy. Personally, threading is overrated to me. Face it your style is whack. I said, "Do what you do." I am entitled to my opinion.
You don't have to like it. Bboying did peak, that's why people came up with new moves, to keep it interesting and challenging. Style is a key element, but damn, top rock gets boring, a 6 step gets boring, the "moves" that you say I was in it for, laid the foundation. That's why people still backspin and can get props for it. Without the "moves" it would just be people jumping around. At the same time, any move you make is a "move." So what are you in it for? BAKA
Furthermore, your moves are sloppy, and everyone is doing them. So much for originality. In case you didn't know, that equals boring. Where is the innovation? The same old combos get boring too. No matter how you thread, freeze, or spin. Youtube was under construction last night FYI and some of my comments were not posting so I had to retype them.
How are my moves sloppy? If what you're saying is true, name one actual move you see in my video and specifically name it out and then I can see if you're just talking trash, or if you're right. If you name a specific move, like my front handspring, or suicide, or headplant, something specific if that's even possible for
you to do, and I look at it isolated and maybe I'll agree with you. All you're saying right now is a vague accusation and like EVERYTHING else in your posts, no actual substance or specific point that has real fact or backing.
How are my moves sloppy? If what you're saying is true, name one actual move you see in my video and specifically name it out and then I can see if you're just talking trash, or if you're right. If you name a specific move, like my front handspring, or suicide, or headplant, something specific if that's even possible for
boring? You're basically saying, out of the thousands of toprock styles and numerous different steps in toprocking alone, ALL of it is boring. You're making like everyone has to make an out of the blue entirely new bboy step everyday. The first months and years first are people trying to master the mass numerous decades worth of different toprock variations that are already there, and then you innovate
after or during learning each type. You keep talking as if everything gets boring so fast, it seems like to you you're so A.D.D. that you can only enjoy a step or move for five seconds
then you're bored already. There's SOOOO much toprock things out there that have come together over more than forty years, and you apparently got bored of it within your few years of high school. This proves you are just a hater who hates on everything, you don't appreciate you just hate and you still have not
shown any evidence that you actually even have the right to speak as if you know what you're talking about. All you say is, "I'm bored of this, I'm bored of that," that's it. Hating hating hating, this is not about a valid opinion,
vs crumbs to see that crumbs matches up if not beat k-mel in that battle moron.
And the moves I said you were in it for, I wasn't talking about toprocks or footwork, I was talking about and I clearly stated tricks, tricks are blowup type moves or amazing feats, I wasn't talking about footwork and toprock foundation, I was clear on that and you still misunderstood damn.
you keep talking like people need to create a new move every ten seconds, and yet I can guarantee you did not create even one new move or style and yet you keep telling me and even top world respected bboys they aren't being innovative enough lol. Name one move or style you created, you created nothing and you can't even prove you even mastered the things that were already there.
There you go again blah blah blah on something trivial. You should be dancing instead of hating on me for not dickriding your heroes. In my opinon this is a crappy battle. You don't have to agree, but page after page of insults to my character, and generalizations based on a couple lines I wrote, shows you have a weak mind and hold grudges. The reason I even mentioned being innovative was to express my point that for the past 15 years I have been seeing almost the same shit.
Dude, you started this whole thing by hating on them, and then hating on bboying as a dance reducing it down to just a "boring" thing that lacks innovation within the culture.
You're hating on guys that actually do dance and have earned their stripes, me criticizing you is based on your dissing guys with stripes
Can you read? Look at my original post. The one your silly ass responed to that started this entire debate. I did not hate on anyone. I commented on the battle itself. Your gay ass took it personal and started dickriding Crumbs and giving a damn history lesson. All because I said this battle was crap. Nigga get a life for real. Damn. Does the word "boring" offend you? How would YOU describe watching 2 people battle backspins and handspins for 10 minutes?
Dude, you're replying continually as much, nitpicking at everything I say to, you're being irrational to tell me to get a life when in essence you're doing the same. Just agree that both of us don't have lives lol.
dot post? From my perspective you were not a part of the discussion :) How about you observe the speak when spoken to concept?Did you go back a few pages and look at what made "girliepantiesmikey" start crying in the first place? Mikey asked questions, I answered them, and stated facts. If I say "For 15 years I have seen practically the same thing in every battle and it bores me." How is that hating? If that comment makes your butt sore, REALITY is gonna tear u a new asshole.
Hahaha. How do you if I'm "crying?" You can't hear my voice tone, what if I'm saying everything with the voice of Darth Vader. You're just using the "crying" ad hominem to make yourself feel better for hating.
lol. How is "it's boring" a fact, when in actuality the information shows otherwise. Bboying has lasted this long when everyone thought it was just a fad, and not to mention the millions in population in the bboying community, and then the hundreds of millions who add to that
when you don't have any. Don't be hypocritical, at least my criticism is justified.
Generalizations? A dance and art form millions of bboys for the past decades have contributed to, you generalized as, "same ol boring stuff, nothing new yawn." Stop being a moron.
Get a life. I can call it boring because it does not hold my interest, and many others as well. I told your lame ass that for 15 years the moves have stayed basically the same. Plus everyone is doing the same thing, just different combos. I said this battle sucks. Bitch. Ya boy Crumbs aiight. This was not his fuckin best. I go by degeee of difficulty and how clean the moves are. Sloppy shit is wack, I do have standards. Get yourself some. Stop being a douche.
I respect the art, this battle was just a bit weak. Get over it. I think 15 years is plenty of time to get bored of something. So stop trying to judge my character based on one opinion. So therefore, you entirely missed my point. I will restate it for you," People can dance however they want, just don't try to get up in my shit for saying I don't like what I see. I am entitled to my opinion." Now fuck off little man.
why are you thinking about the negative of bboying ik its your opinion think about what's good about the bboying community. Like are musicalty has rised, things like that be happy about it because it only get worse before it get's better
How about you answer my question? How would YOU describe watching 2 people battle backspins and handspins for 10 minutes? For someone with nothing better to do, they could probably stand it. My time is a little more precious.
lol, you're on person, I guess you're a mighty high horse fella in comparison to the statistics that one of the most searched things on youtube is bboying.
Whoa whoa, mighty man with the precious time with "facts" hahahaha.
Possibly because of the masses looking up tutorials so that they can mimic the moves of everyone else, genius. You never thought of that did you? For the record, my opinion was that this was a crappy battle. You were obviously offended by it, if not you would not type a full page in response. Loser. I responded with the reasons for my position, and guess what? Mikey types another page. Again and again. Hence the name "girliepantiesmikey." Cuase you whine like a girl.
and yes musicality that means a lot of different thing's. of the nature of or resembling music:melodious:harmonious.fond of or skilled in music.set to or accompanied by music: a musical entertainment.pertaining to, or producing music: a musical instrument. i don't have say nothing else to you:) and i choose to be in this conversation and choosing to end it. period
This is not up for debate, everyone in the bboy scene knows where the abstract threading flexible style came from, it didn't start in 99 at your high school, it started much before that.
You're saying guys like Crumbs weren't the first to do it because this video is from 99. Yeah this video is from 99 but he was doing his moves years before this 99 event. You
I remember watching Pro-Am 99&was a little disappointed. Iron Monkey is dope but his sets were all pretty short. And Iron Monkey ends up winning the 4way battle later because he did top Rock+1flair+1air track+ 1windmill+1headspin??? At that round everyone else busted their own ORIGINAL tops footwork freezes which were even SICKER than that simple power set. No wonder Crumbs battled him after the 4 way battle and straight served him
To be honest I was not impressed by either one of them. As for raping..... I got raped for the 4 minutes of my life it took me to watch this crap and post.
You do realize these guys were doing things and moves NO ONE was really doing at that time or could do. Maybe you're exposed to the crazy Korean bboys of today who do amazing things, so you're not impressed by this. But all of those guys didn't create most of what they
do, majority of bboys in Korea were influenced by bboys like Crumbs in here, one of the main influences over Korea. Korea was mediocre at bboying in the mid 90's, until they got a look at guys like Crumbs. From there they got influenced, but also took moves to another level no doubt, but if it wasn't for guys like Crumbs they wouldn't have gotten the ideas or foundation to build from.
WTF? I don't need a history lesson. Besides, by 1999 I had seen shit a hell of lot better than this, that is why I am not impressed. Maybe they had not fully developed their styles in this video or something. Compared to the videos I have seen of Kamel, these guys are rookies. As for me being a bboy, I still got moves, but I'm damn near 30. I have better things to do....like accumulate wealth. Spinning on my head seems a little childish. Wouldn't you say?
move to however the music moves me, and that's just how it comes out when I let myself move to the music.
3. What the heck is "progression?" I mean the freezes I'm doing are not 80's freezes but instead freezes people use today, and as for footwork, most everyone uses those same techniques of 6, 3, 2, steps and shuffles no
matter what era they're from. The only way I could see your meaning of "progression" would be for me to be super yoga flexible, doing one hand freezes with my leg behind my head, but even that style comes from guys like LT from Lions of Zion and GZC back in the mid to late 90's anyway.
you try and name any move you see today as the "new" thing, and I will give you the name, person, and/or event where that "new" move was done in the 90's or early 2000. Your idea of "progression" is retarded because other than spinning or holding a move longer, or putting them together in different combos, the
moves themselves of today that are "futuristic" all come from the late 90's to 2000. Airflares, airchairs, elbow airflares, airbabies, one hand hops, hopping airchairs, lotus freezes and origami threads, etc, all the "new" stuff you're thinking is the "progression" has been around for more than a decade.
For a guy who doesn't need a history lesson, you sure don't know any of your facts from even the basics to what era had what. Now again, as for your comparison to Kmel who I agree is dope, look up in the search k-mel crumbs remind to see their battle against each other, and you'll see Crumbs is more than a match if not the winner of that battle.
anything related to bboying. From moves, to eras, to people, you're wrong on almost everything. There's no way you can come back to this dialogue as winner, all of your fallacies are clearly farce, now all you can do is admit you're wrong, or not do so and remain in ignorance.
You should change your name to "bipolarmikey." You should be ashamed of yourself for pole jocking these guys, and making an ass of yourself. When I asked you, "Where is the progression," you pretty much proved my point. You said the moves of today have been around for a decade. I ask you again, "Where is the progression?" Has bboying reached its peak? Cuz' I already said I saw this in the 90's. A decade later it's boring. I stand by my original post. I am not impressed.
Well first off you said what you saw of me was from the 80's, you got the era wrong by ten years. As for this video, these guys in their era were doing new things, because as my point stated, what they're doing was new and progression in the 90's, the point was not about judging a video of them from the 90's in the context of today. We were arguing about whether these guys were innovative or
What about the moonwalk? You were saying my trailer took you back to the 80's, meaning you judging it in an overall manner. And the only thing you can point out is a one second moonwalk in a ten minute video? You keep saying bboying peaked, it didn't, you peaked and it's clear you were only in it for the moves, you don't know how a dance really
develops, you're talking in context of gymnastics. We don't need gymnasts and posers like you who claim to be old school but you're fronting, to talk on a subject you were never really a part of.
Ask anyone who knows, it was the guys in places like Washington, that started the
abstract flexible threading style of bboying, in around the mid 90's. Crews like LOZ, I used to practice at the same place with one of the main guys who started that style, LT Thanh.
Again, this would be before 99. The guys in your school got what they had from the very guys you're bashing you idiot.
not, and for their time period, they were. We're not arguing about the now for them.
And as for me, I started breaking in 1999, a lot of my moves I do in that video, came from very early in 2000, when these styles and moves were still fresh and new. So for the time I was creating in that time, I was doing progressive like things.
And also the way you put sets together, can you tell me where you've ever seen a guy do a front handspring in to a suicide, in to a coin drop like get up, on to another headflip landing in a sitting suicide, and springing up to one's hand spinning in to a forearm freeze with hooked legs? Yes those moves separately can be seen as not that new, but the way one puts together their flow is what matters for character as well.
It's clear you have no life. These guys may have been innovative in your eyes, but I was already dancing, and I had already seen the same moves performed in the underground battles that took place in my school. That is as underground as it gets. There was threading, freezes, combos, you name it. It got boring cuz you already knew what was going to happen. Just like the 80s. So twice, breaking hit a peak. You've been dancing 10 years? That's all you've got?
Battles at school is not as underground as it gets. Underground doesn't mean the more ghetto it is, underground just means not commercial or shown to the commercial audience. These jams like the one in this video, are much more underground than a high school hallway dance off. Because it is a
This shit here is an example of you being a dickhead. In the hall, there is only us. Practicing EVERYDAY, cultavating raw forms, no crowd of cheering fans, just the crew. The stuff you talk about happens every so often and is more like a convergence of the bboy underground into a large gathering. My point is, little clicks in alleys and hallways are the roots. Look at how the dance began. You don't see people trying to learn a new move in a battle setting.
gathering of all of the underground heads manifesting hip hop raw culture in a cultural and organized setting, with real guys who've proven themselves at the top of their game. Just because there are more people there than at a school hallway, does not constitute a farther away concept from underground, you don't even have your definitions correct.
And you said you were in high school in 99 dancing right, and you saw all of those moves. Yes this footage is from 99 but both of them were doing those moves years before 99. All those guys at your school doing those things were doing it AFTER these guys.
Breaking may hit a peak in power moves or tricks, but as far as flavor and dance character
which you clearly are unable to recognize, it's always growing because everyone brings something new to the table in that sense.
And technically I started actually trying to break and actually really do it in 2003, 99-03 was mainly just me getting introduced to it and kinda doing it as a play around thing maybe several times within a whole year trying to
learn a windmill or something. So technically 6 years I've been really dancing, apparently you've been dancing much longer, what do you even have?
Nothing visible, so don't talk because knowledge wise you've shown yourself to be incapable of speaking on the topic from an informed perspective of the real history of it, and you don't have any visible documentation of you actually dancing.
is this that black guy who battles the guy in the red pants on that 1million view vid

ahahaha I remember this one. Crumbs was a judge in this and Iron monkey was calling out Crumbs like the whole night. So Crumbs calls him out after the battle is done and serves him on a platter.
In Iron Monkey's defense, it was post battle and he was fatigued. Crumbs was fresh and hadn't even taken a set yet.

i think crumbs would had it regardless. he has a huge arsenal of technical styles and moves.

Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
I did, I had already seen it. How about a 1 on 1rematch? Cause I have seen kmel in other battles and that didn't look his best performance.
gitserved56 2 years ago
So you're telling me you knew guys who could do stuff like at 0:10, flare in to 90 and while doing the 90, threading leg through in to the splits? You knew guys who could do numerous backspins with part of it on the back of their head and neck?
That's not innovative?
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
I already said his first set was tight. many pages ago. I give props when they are do.
gitserved56 2 years ago
There you go again typing up the whole page.
gitserved56 2 years ago
yeah, and all of these guys who enter these underground battle learned and practiced on the streets, halls, parks, etc. Man you really don't know your history.
There's so much footage of guys like this, mainly breaking on asphalt, at a basketball court, where ever, and these events are underground. You still don't realize underground just means not mainstream, not in the media funded by corporate titans.
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
My comment was actually for a post you made a while back. You were talking about on thing being more underground than the next. How do I not know my history? There you go again talking out your ass. Read my comment again.
gitserved56 2 years ago
You didn't know who Iron monkey or Crumbs were, you talked about them as if they were some random nobodies.
The only knowledge you have about hip hop, seems to be your high school hallway. Your supposed moves you guys were doing, all stemmed from many people, who I don't think
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
No I didn't I said the battle sucked not them. Get it right
gitserved56 2 years ago
Doesn't matter, you didn't know who they were even with their names posted on the title.
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
Actually I have a freestyle video where there is a guy named iron monkey, but it is not the same guy here. I was trying to find footage of him.
gitserved56 2 years ago
You didn't just say the battle sucked, you called them "rookies." You also said bboying peaked and that it can no longer grow because there's only so much things you can do as you stated.
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
Wrong, YOU blamed the limitations of the human body for the movements being similar. I originally said it peaked in the 80s for the same reason it is doing so now. The battles became predictable. Both sides know what the other is going to do. Understand that if a child started to dance they would indeed be excited over things that they never saw before, but for a seasoned vet, it's like "Been there, done that." Get my point now?
gitserved56 2 years ago 2
@gitserved56 It didn't peak in the 80's because of that idiot. It died out because the media made it in to a carnival of moves, not dancing and hired anyone who could just spin on their backs. And all the real underground guys got jibbed, and broke because of no jobs after it died out in the media.
Holyfiremikey 1 year ago
@gitserved56 They still kept it alive in their small circles, but as a dance it never died out to those who really loved it. AGain, it peaked in the MEDIA and mainstream in the 80's but not because of moves getting old in real underground circles.
YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT STOP TALKING STUPID!

Stop being so feminine. BITCH!!!!!!!! Waaah!!! MY PUSSY HURTS. LAME........
gitserved56 1 year ago
So basically you said these guys are amateurs when they are underground legends, and you said bboying has lost its possibility to expand. You attacked top bboys and bboying itself, you didn't just talk about this battle moron.
Dang man either you have alzheimer's, or you're just straight up fronting.
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
Look, they had to be rookies at one time or another or did YOU forget? Someone can't just jump in the game and automatically be a "Legend." This performance is far from legendary. I never said it lost its possibility to expand. Just that I see the same thing in each battle. The possibility is still there, just that innovators are few and far in between.
gitserved56 2 years ago 2
Never said "your people" didn't create the moves, just said I saw these moves before. Get it right.
gitserved56 2 years ago
Yeah, and you have yet to say anything about my proof that you in fact do not know basic history about bboying or the key players in it.
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
you even know.
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
Knowing who guys like this are is not worshipping them as you constantly state. For anyone who really has been in the bboying game even for a year, it's basic to know some of the people who were very innovative in
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
influencing it.
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
By the way in the video at 1:51, dude is headspinning on the back of his head, the back of his head, don't tell me that's not innovative. Headplants like that, and the threads you see coming out in this video, if you claim about people needing to bring something new name one move or tech you created. You keep talking but you still have not shown anything behind your mouth.
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
I did think that was innovative, but I am not going to bust a nut over it. By the way what have YOU brought to the game besides pom poms?
gitserved56 2 years ago
Sir, you are the one with no documentation or proof to show you actually did anything in this game.

You are the most idiotic hypocrite I've ever met on youtube.
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
To be honest I was not impressed by either one of them. As for raping..... I got raped for the four minutes of my life it took me to watch this crap and post.
This is the comment that got you all worked up in the fist place. What for? I told you I had seen this before and the battle really wasn't all that. I explained how I was bored of seeing the same moves(anyone would get bored of repitition especially after 15 years.) There are people doing variations and complex combos. I like that.
gitserved56 2 years ago

make like this video from 1999 was the first time he's ever used these moves, and that's how you judge the whole "I've seen these moves from others in my school in 99, that means Crumbs wasn't one of the first."
You're illogical and irrational.
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
I still say you have no life. I started high school in 95. I never said Crumbs wasn't the first. I just said that I saw this before. That makes you an illiterate pole jocker with nothing to do. Plus, just about everything here is sloppy except his first set. You know your moves have to be crisp. Then you bring up gymnastics? That is a bit more difficult than yoga buddy. Personally, threading is overrated to me. Face it your style is whack. I said, "Do what you do." I am entitled to my opinion.
gitserved56 2 years ago
You don't have to like it. Bboying did peak, that's why people came up with new moves, to keep it interesting and challenging. Style is a key element, but damn, top rock gets boring, a 6 step gets boring, the "moves" that you say I was in it for, laid the foundation. That's why people still backspin and can get props for it. Without the "moves" it would just be people jumping around. At the same time, any move you make is a "move." So what are you in it for? BAKA
gitserved56 2 years ago
Furthermore, your moves are sloppy, and everyone is doing them. So much for originality. In case you didn't know, that equals boring. Where is the innovation? The same old combos get boring too. No matter how you thread, freeze, or spin. Youtube was under construction last night FYI and some of my comments were not posting so I had to retype them.
gitserved56 2 years ago
You're just a hater.
How are my moves sloppy? If what you're saying is true, name one actual move you see in my video and specifically name it out and then I can see if you're just talking trash, or if you're right. If you name a specific move, like my front handspring, or suicide, or headplant, something specific if that's even possible for
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
you to do, and I look at it isolated and maybe I'll agree with you. All you're saying right now is a vague accusation and like EVERYTHING else in your posts, no actual substance or specific point that has real fact or backing.

Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
after or during learning each type. You keep talking as if everything gets boring so fast, it seems like to you you're so A.D.D. that you can only enjoy a step or move for five seconds
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
then you're bored already. There's SOOOO much toprock things out there that have come together over more than forty years, and you apparently got bored of it within your few years of high school. This proves you are just a hater who hates on everything, you don't appreciate you just hate and you still have not
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
shown any evidence that you actually even have the right to speak as if you know what you're talking about. All you say is, "I'm bored of this, I'm bored of that," that's it. Hating hating hating, this is not about a valid opinion,
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago

by the way, like I stated before, look up k-mel
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
vs crumbs to see that crumbs matches up if not beat k-mel in that battle moron.
And the moves I said you were in it for, I wasn't talking about toprocks or footwork, I was talking about and I clearly stated tricks, tricks are blowup type moves or amazing feats, I wasn't talking about footwork and toprock foundation, I was clear on that and you still misunderstood damn.
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
you keep talking like people need to create a new move every ten seconds, and yet I can guarantee you did not create even one new move or style and yet you keep telling me and even top world respected bboys they aren't being innovative enough lol. Name one move or style you created, you created nothing and you can't even prove you even mastered the things that were already there.
You are a joke.
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
There you go again blah blah blah on something trivial. You should be dancing instead of hating on me for not dickriding your heroes. In my opinon this is a crappy battle. You don't have to agree, but page after page of insults to my character, and generalizations based on a couple lines I wrote, shows you have a weak mind and hold grudges. The reason I even mentioned being innovative was to express my point that for the past 15 years I have been seeing almost the same shit.
gitserved56 2 years ago
Dude, you started this whole thing by hating on them, and then hating on bboying as a dance reducing it down to just a "boring" thing that lacks innovation within the culture.
You're hating on guys that actually do dance and have earned their stripes, me criticizing you is based on your dissing guys with stripes
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
Can you read? Look at my original post. The one your silly ass responed to that started this entire debate. I did not hate on anyone. I commented on the battle itself. Your gay ass took it personal and started dickriding Crumbs and giving a damn history lesson. All because I said this battle was crap. Nigga get a life for real. Damn. Does the word "boring" offend you? How would YOU describe watching 2 people battle backspins and handspins for 10 minutes?
gitserved56 2 years ago
Dude, you're replying continually as much, nitpicking at everything I say to, you're being irrational to tell me to get a life when in essence you're doing the same. Just agree that both of us don't have lives lol.
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
i agree if youre gonna hate dot post anything:) this my observation and my understanding
FineSPlay 2 years ago
If that comment makes your butt sore, REALITY is gonna tear u a new asshole.
gitserved56 2 years ago
Hahaha. How do you if I'm "crying?" You can't hear my voice tone, what if I'm saying everything with the voice of Darth Vader. You're just using the "crying" ad hominem to make yourself feel better for hating.
You did not state facts, you stated your opinion
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
I stated my opinion, which was based on the fact that for 15 years i have seen the same shit.
gitserved56 2 years ago
lol. How is "it's boring" a fact, when in actuality the information shows otherwise. Bboying has lasted this long when everyone thought it was just a fad, and not to mention the millions in population in the bboying community, and then the hundreds of millions who add to that
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago

Dude, sounding like Nelson from the Simpsons is not "facts."

Holyfiremikey 2 years ago

gitserved56 2 years ago
when you don't have any. Don't be hypocritical, at least my criticism is justified.
Generalizations? A dance and art form millions of bboys for the past decades have contributed to, you generalized as, "same ol boring stuff, nothing new yawn." Stop being a moron.
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
Stop being a douche.
gitserved56 2 years ago
I respect the art, this battle was just a bit weak. Get over it. I think 15 years is plenty of time to get bored of something. So stop trying to judge my character based on one opinion. So therefore, you entirely missed my point. I will restate it for you," People can dance however they want, just don't try to get up in my shit for saying I don't like what I see. I am entitled to my opinion." Now fuck off little man.
gitserved56 2 years ago
why are you thinking about the negative of bboying ik its your opinion think about what's good about the bboying community. Like are musicalty has rised, things like that be happy about it because it only get worse before it get's better
FineSPlay 2 years ago
How about you answer my question? How would YOU describe watching 2 people battle backspins and handspins for 10 minutes? For someone with nothing better to do, they could probably stand it. My time is a little more precious.
gitserved56 2 years ago
lol, you're on person, I guess you're a mighty high horse fella in comparison to the statistics that one of the most searched things on youtube is bboying.
Whoa whoa, mighty man with the precious time with "facts" hahahaha.
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
Possibly because of the masses looking up tutorials so that they can mimic the moves of everyone else, genius. You never thought of that did you? For the record, my opinion was that this was a crappy battle. You were obviously offended by it, if not you would not type a full page in response. Loser. I responded with the reasons for my position, and guess what? Mikey types another page. Again and again. Hence the name "girliepantiesmikey." Cuase you whine like a girl.
gitserved56 2 years ago
and yes musicality that means a lot of different thing's. of the nature of or resembling music:melodious:harmonious.fond of or skilled in music.set to or accompanied by music: a musical entertainment.pertaining to, or producing music: a musical instrument. i don't have say nothing else to you:) and i choose to be in this conversation and choosing to end it. period

You do realize these guys were doing things and moves NO ONE was really doing at that time or could do. Maybe you're exposed to the crazy Korean bboys of today who do amazing things, so you're not impressed by this. But all of those guys didn't create most of what they
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
do, majority of bboys in Korea were influenced by bboys like Crumbs in here, one of the main influences over Korea. Korea was mediocre at bboying in the mid 90's, until they got a look at guys like Crumbs. From there they got influenced, but also took moves to another level no doubt, but if it wasn't for guys like Crumbs they wouldn't have gotten the ideas or foundation to build from.
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
Wouldn't you say?
gitserved56 2 years ago
move to however the music moves me, and that's just how it comes out when I let myself move to the music.
3. What the heck is "progression?" I mean the freezes I'm doing are not 80's freezes but instead freezes people use today, and as for footwork, most everyone uses those same techniques of 6, 3, 2, steps and shuffles no
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
matter what era they're from. The only way I could see your meaning of "progression" would be for me to be super yoga flexible, doing one hand freezes with my leg behind my head, but even that style comes from guys like LT from Lions of Zion and GZC back in the mid to late 90's anyway.
So "progression" for today, I can guarantee

you try and name any move you see today as the "new" thing, and I will give you the name, person, and/or event where that "new" move was done in the 90's or early 2000.

You know what though, I am sorry for being a jerk in the way I'm speaking to you. I apologize for that and my apology doesn't excuse my behavior.
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago

First off, how old is the Moonwalk again? Idiot.
gitserved56 2 years ago

Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
not, and for their time period, they were. We're not arguing about the now for them.
And as for me, I started breaking in 1999, a lot of my moves I do in that video, came from very early in 2000, when these styles and moves were still fresh and new. So for the time I was creating in that time, I was doing progressive like things.
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
And also the way you put sets together, can you tell me where you've ever seen a guy do a front handspring in to a suicide, in to a coin drop like get up, on to another headflip landing in a sitting suicide, and springing up to one's hand spinning in to a forearm freeze with hooked legs? Yes those moves separately can be seen as not that new, but the way one puts together their flow is what matters for character as well.

It's clear you are not fit to speak on the topic of an art form you are just an outside spectator of.
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
It's clear you have no life. These guys may have been innovative in your eyes, but I was already dancing, and I had already seen the same moves performed in the underground battles that took place in my school. That is as underground as it gets. There was threading, freezes, combos, you name it. It got boring cuz you already knew what was going to happen. Just like the 80s. So twice, breaking hit a peak. You've been dancing 10 years? That's all you've got?
gitserved56 2 years ago

You don't see people trying to learn a new move in a battle setting.
gitserved56 2 years ago
gathering of all of the underground heads manifesting hip hop raw culture in a cultural and organized setting, with real guys who've proven themselves at the top of their game. Just because there are more people there than at a school hallway, does not constitute a farther away concept from underground, you don't even have your definitions correct.
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
And you said you were in high school in 99 dancing right, and you saw all of those moves. Yes this footage is from 99 but both of them were doing those moves years before 99. All those guys at your school doing those things were doing it AFTER these guys.
Breaking may hit a peak in power moves or tricks, but as far as flavor and dance character
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
which you clearly are unable to recognize, it's always growing because everyone brings something new to the table in that sense.
And technically I started actually trying to break and actually really do it in 2003, 99-03 was mainly just me getting introduced to it and kinda doing it as a play around thing maybe several times within a whole year trying to
Holyfiremikey 2 years ago
learn a windmill or something.
