  • After having tryed this amp now, the following seems to work: (ch1 crunch, rool back trebl and pres., mids about 3o'clock, bass 2 o'clock, gain almost at 4-5 o'clock), this should give you nice gain a la jcm 800, without the buzzzzz sound.

ch2, roll back gain treble and pres., otherwise => buzz danger. Still a bit too trebly though...

  • they advertise those as marshall like amps, I don't think this sounds anywhere close to a marshall, this has more bottom end, and totally diff. type of distortion

  • possibly the best stiletto demo on youtube

  • i have a question..........this amp is good to play metallica stuff????

  • Hi man. Differences between the Trident and the Deuce? I saw that the Trident is more affordable.

  • @SuperMegaMantus that's a good question that I just wanted to ask now as well, Steve..?

  • Nice demo! Do you know if the 50/100 version does sound really different from this one? Cause the you're getting from this is very very nice, nice playing too!

  • Amazing TONE and PLAYING

  • How heavy are these amps?

  • Hey, I noticed the nice Mark IV there. If you're interested in selling send me a message, thanks.

  • @kissmyaxx you can hear he has some delay. And I can't remember if it has its own reverb or not. Other than that, I've tried this amp and it gets plenty of gain.

  • simply great :O

  • When you were playing over the droned note, it put me in mind of Joe Bonamassa's Mountain time......Great Job Steve, got to love the boogie...

  • awesome tone, is this stage I or II?

  • Finally, someone doing a great demo of the Stiletto. Most of the demos on here are of guys with $5000 rigs who can't play a lick to save their lives. Awesome chops and sound.

  • Amazing play and tone! Thanks for sharing! :)

  • I HAD to Subscribe!

  • Nice phrasing in (what sounded like) the lydian part bro! Wish I had your fast-playing technique down. My phrasing's good, but I can't get my chops up to par with what I want to play...any suggestions on how to improve fast picking? Just metronome exercises? I've tried and can't get it to happen when I start moving string to string.

  • Jesus Christ youve got the 3 T's covered... Tone Talent and Tone again... haha

  • NIce vid.

Do you also give guitar lessons. Online lessons?

  • 2:10

that's some nice playing. i really like the solo improv, wish i could figure out what you're doing so i could try to play it

  • Settings? i have a stage 1 also and i love this tone :)

  • mate that was amazing!!!Stage 1 or 2??

  • @ViciousMaximus stage one

  • @ViciousMaximus stage 1

  • great tone bro...

would you reccomend a suhr S4, like the one you use, or would i better off getting a fender aerodyne strat and modding the crap out of it?

  • @zakkthegreat S4 if you can afford it!

  • @SteveHubbardGuitar does this thing have enough gain on tap for heavy agressive metal stylings? Is this stage1 or 2? you have some great tones man, very nice. I just got offered one for my rect-o-verb 50 and i prefer the brit tone but, i need my gain, lol.thanks in advance

  • Hello Steve,

really tasty playing. Besides that i love the tone you get out of the Suhr and the Stiletto. I can`t help myself but i think that must be the best lead tone i come across on you tube. What is the main reason for this set aside from your playing: The amp or your guitar. How do you think does the Stieltto compare to a Marshall JVM?

    Best Andy

  • @SimpleMind1 i'd say the guitar. it has sounded great through every amp i've plugged it into.. but the amp also plays such a huge roll in this tone.. the JVM and the stiletto, are similar, but still very different. i'd honestly have to A/B them and see which amp my ears prefer! i can see myself using either, though

  • great tone dude.

what's that on top, a nomad?

  • MKV

  • is possible to make that kind of tone with the mark v ? thanks !

  • yes, indeed!

  • just curious is this a stage 1 or 2 trident?

  • stage 1

  • Great stuff Steve! Wish I knew the secret to getting from where I am, to where you are. You make it look so effortless!

    Pentatonic rut city for me...

  • Practice practice practice, lawl.

  • Me too. Major pentatonic rut.

  • @f2kflyer pentatonics are great, though.. just work on your 'phrasing' and you will still sound great :-)

  • Beeeatiful tone!! Which Suhr guitar model is that!! Is the S3?

    Keeping amazing the world!!!

  • s4 = maple, s3 = rosewood

  • Hi Steve,

I`m so glad somebody else is using the Mesa Stiletto/Suhr combo ..... They are awesome amps, Tight gain is my personal favourite :)

    Pete - Vendetta

  • great video! how did you record this video? where did you plug the stiletto?

  • Stiletto -> Orange 212 cabinet w/ vintage 30's -> shure beta 57 -> tapco USB interface

  • Great video, great tone, great playing :)

  • I swear, I must have a subscriber that hates me, because I always get a 1 star rating within the first day of posting a vid.. LOL

  • We all get that I think man, YOUTUBE is full of idiots. This really is a great video, I especially love the bit at the end, but as you know I'm a sucker for dramatic yet elegant sounding jams. We jem colleb getha on it, k bf ?.

  • you made me want to buy a suhr. its such a beautiful wood, u can tell just by seeing the grain beneath the finish.

  • btw, that drone at the end kinda sounds like the background to south side of the sky, is it?

  • i'm not sure where I got it from.. but i got it a loooooonnnnggg time ago.. couldn't tell you anything about where its from

  • amazing tone.. fuck i hate rack gear.. i just want a mesa head , i have a mesa 4x12.. it just seems like rack gear isnt as ballsy or full sounding..

  • I've never used a rack setup before, though I've definitely thought about the triaxis.. If I recall, you played in the first Shred This and have RIPPIN' phrasing and chops.. Keep it up dude

  • haha thanks man, just posted my shred this too take, my timing is brutal on it... and you're way beyond my level man, you're phrasing and tone are amazing..

  • top tones!

  • You gotta wait till the HQ version is up, Laurie!

  • that'll have to be morning! Still it sounds thick enough to walk on!
