  • The angle of those monitors looks pretty sharp

  • how do you make the 3 screens work as one

  • woow *.* (whats the name of song at 4:17 ?)

  • @5ub4ru Pearl Jam - Even Flow.

  • @wtfimnameless thanks ^^ =)

  • its awesome but if you could use four screens, having 2 screens for the dash board and one for each side window it would be even better

  • you never own it your just

    Renting it

  • Renting what?

  • iracing

  • Ah yeah, I cancelled my membership. Too bad since the game had so much potential.. I guess they're not looking for a return on their investment.. I wish I had that kind of money to piss away on a hobby. I can't imagine what my sim would look like then!

  • @wtfimnameless wait.. after all the money you pissed away on your setup you don't want to play easily the best sim out there?

  • @Ghostca A real simulator allows you to customize it to suit your cockpit, iRacing doesn't. I choose to no longer financially support a company that doesn't listen/care about something I feel is a flaw in their design.

  • @wtfimnameless in which way do you want to 'customize your cockpit' does iRacing not allow you. And a 'true simulator' to most people means the best physics and racing. Which is easily delivered by iRacing. If all you car about is looks and don't mind crap physics, gtr2 and rTractor are always out there for you.

  • @Ghostca Did you see my sim racing view comparison video that I made? I think it's fair to say that most people who play PC racing sims have a wheel and pedals. I think it's also fair to say that most people who have a wheel and pedals sit in a somewhat realist driving position and the monitor is roughly where a cars windshield would really be. The monitor should be able to display what I would see in the windshield in real life, not from the eyes the in game virtual driver.

  • @wtfimnameless I watched your video. I am not sure how it really proves your point but, ok, you have a preference. I am far more worried about the physics of the game and the racing than how perfect it looks. I believe iRacing has field of view adjustments anyways. Oh well, it all comes down to what you are looking for in racing sim.

  • @wtfimnameless

what do you mean by return on your investment?

iracing is far from perfect, but it's miles ahead of anything else on the PC or console

  • @SuperColossal33 I mean if I put that much money into the development of a game I would want a bigger return on my investment, to me it's obvious that they don't really care how much money they make back.

  • The boy you keep in your basement, he says your renting it.

  • what do you think is better inside cock pit view or outside bumper view ?

  • For my setup I prefer the hood cam.. It's too bad that iRacing doesn't let you change views, that's the only view that game has. That's part of the reason I stopped playing it.

  • Iracing is a simulation and not an arcade game. Buy PS3 there are toons of arcade racing games.

  • I'm not looking for arcade racing games.

  • he prefers the hood view probably because he already has a dash on his setup

  • Regardless of if I have a dash or not - It's my opinion that the screen should be a "virtual windshield" instead of showing the drivers eye perspective. It's kinda of like the "World of world of warcraft" parody video.

  • Hardcore setup .. but truthfully I'm all about forced cockpit mode. Hows it fair to be driving a sim in the race car when others can see their entire car?

WTF sounds like your just wanting an advantage over your competition. However regardless nice setup.

  • You're logic is flawed. If something is available to everyone, it's not an advantage. I don't quite understand how asking for a more natural and realistic camera placement that everyone can benefit from leads you to believe i'm looking for an advantage over others.

  • Its very difficult to keep the field of view from hood view to cockpit..

Hood view imo is pretty arcadey in terms of realism, the closet actually being Shift where it has a hood view w/ dynamic suspension motion. In a real car your eyes have to see over the the dash board before you can see over the hood.

  • Field of view is 100% dependant on monitor size, distance from the monitor and number of monitors. I don't want a "Hood view", I want an "on dash camera" that turns my monitor into a windshield. Where ever your gaming steering wheel is located is also where your dash would be in real life. Most people sit at least 2-3 feet away from their monitor (eyes to screen distance) that would put you in the back seat of the car with a steering wheel which is what I dislike.

  • i just subscribed to iracing to discover the same thing,, NO EXTERNAL.. Having a damn big screen and only use a little part to see to road.. I played 5 min and stopped... Nose view is the best

  • @fortress66 msg to myself. I did try again iracing in February and i remove what i said. Now that i have 3 screens setup and adjusted the FOV properly, its like i'm driving the real.. i agree with me that we one monitor, its not really fun cuz you don't see anything. People are playing with unreal FOV with single monitor and everything is distorted and the road look so small.. Triple screen is the way to go. Iracing is now my best game

  • looks like they did a good job at making laguna seca

  • great sound is it real?

  • it is from game

  • very cool, im jealous

  • Nice video wtf, I have the exact same setup as you with 22inch and trackiR.

PS: Shut off the Arcade mirror mate

  • The real mirrors don't work with SoftTH.

  • my real mirrors work fine with SoftTH

  • It will work now with the newer version of SoftTH. It did not work at the time this video was shot.

  • I has 3 monitors too. My question is about TRackIR is really useful?

  • It adds a little bit to the immersion factor but you probably don't need it with triple screens... I'm so far into this sim that now I just want to see how deep the rabbit hole really goes :)

  • Thank you. The game is amazing, the laser scanned tracks and force feedback is years ahead of any other racing sims out there.

If you like this sim, keep checking back because construction on the new sim starts in a few days :)

    regards,

    nameless

  • i happen to agree , ffb is &*^)*& amazing. and detailed on tracks unhatched

  • nice launch

  • Thanks :)

  • sweet setup, I have one screen, but interested in that TRACK IR so it will add some nice viewing without pushing buttons :P

  • The first couple hours are really hard to get used to it... I also run it at the lowest setting, it's nice that you can turn on/off the different axis. I'd take 3 monitors over the TrackIR in a heartbeat but it's a nice addition. Thanks for the comments :)
