  • I've actually discover this myself last year. Wondering what happens if I put an egg in. It really does taste great.

  • AnoHana anyone?

  • it is very helpful when i just wanted to learn how to make it basic. nice 3 min is very convinent not having the time to watch a 10 min vid

  • @themysteriousNagu I'm glad you found it useful and accessible. Thanks for watching!

  • @cmtoy ok i want to get your opinion i think ramen looks delicious, and i always wanted to try the real thing but im stuck with instant ramen. I tried it for the first time today but i used a plastic measuring bowl and a microwave. Does it taste a lot better when you actually boil the water, or am i doomed to not like food thats looks so amazing?

  • @cjw1010 I think it will taste much better if you can boil the water. Maybe if you heat the water in the microwave first, then add the noodles and the flavor packet. Get that cooked up. Then add the eggs and cook that up in the microwave with a cover on it to keep it from spattering all over the place. Give it a try and let me know. The idea would be to get the flavor into the noodles and broth. Thanks for your question and for watching!

  • Just tried it. It's AWESOME :D Thank you very much sir!

  • @ACENLJ You're most welcome. It's great when folks actually try it out and then report back! Thanks for doing that, and for watching.

  • Great video, how much water should I use ?

  • @MrGermantim Great question! Id say as much as you want for soup. I usually use between 1.5 - 2 cups of water. Let me know how it comes out for you! Thanks for asking and for watching!

  • @tobfosho Thanks for watching!

  • 29 cents? in finland best noodles are fuking 60 cents..

  • @MWFanz Be glad you aren't in Australia. Someone there said a package was over a dollar! Maybe someone should import them from where they are 10 cents! Thanks for watching!

  • @cmtoy yea im australian, but our dollar is high at the moment and things r expensive over here, but ITS SOO RARE TO FIND A RESTURANT THAT WILL SERVE RAMEN :(

  • @DRstaszak You'll just have to make your own then! Or open a ramen restaurant!

  • also where do you get tahiti sauce?

  • @JPlikesCookies Tahini can usually be found in the international food section of most large grocery stores, sometimes in the Greek section. It's basically sesame seed puree. Thanks for asking and for watching.

  • Check your kids cholesterol.

  • @Johnnynogood86052 Just did...so far so good! Under 150, higher HDL, lower LDL. Have you read the Feb 2011 report on eggs from USDA? Anyway, thanks for you concern and for watching! Relax and have some ramen with and egg or two once or twice a week!

  • @cmtoy I tried this recipe last night. WOW! I find that if the seasoning packet is added after I have drained off the excess water I have better results. Thanks for posting.

  • @Johnnynogood86052 Thanks for trying it out! It's great when folks actually try the recipes and report back or ask questions.

  • did you boil 2 cups of water or more?

  • @SurrenderInTheSky Two cups works well. If you want more soup just add more water. Thanks for watching and asking!

  • I could fall asleep to your voice. I love it.

I haven't checked if you've made more videos, but if you haven't, make more!

  • @rice4dinn3r *laughing* I'm not sure that it's a good thing that folks would fall asleep while being taught by me! Thanks for watching...and staying awake!

  • I am eating this right now :D The egg thing is genius!

  • you sir, make this simple dish look soooo delicious. i tried this myself using your methods and it turned out excellent, thanks alot. btw are you Japanese?

  • @beeyas805 Glad to hear you enjoyed it! My background is Chinese. Thanks for watching!

  • @cmtoy sorry my mistake.

  • Pretty awesome to have a dad like that!

  • @iTzGerimaxx And one day my children will teach their children...or I will! Thanks for watching!

  • thats disgusting, you used the water that washed the noodles as your soup... at least change the water wen you're going to make the soup...

  • @Lubie225 Have you given it a try? IF you have...can you describe why you find it "disgusting"? If you haven't tried it...please do so. I tell my students that they should absolutely make changes to any recipe if they feel the need. If it helps you to feel less disgusted about making the recipe, by all means change the water out. My only caution is to refrain from harsh statements about other people's tastes...it makes for a more pleasant world. Anyway, thanks for watching!

  • My goodness! You sir, are GENIOUS! I did everything in your video and I shed a tear from how gloriously epic it tasted! Amazing!

  • @guitar1188 I don't know that I'm a genius, except that I paid attention when my dad showed me how to do this many many many...years ago! Glad it brought tears of happiness to your eyes. Thanks for watching and sharing!

  • is it possible to scramble the eggs i like my eggs really scambled and well done

  • @mreddieweddie Yes! You can scramble the eggs before you put them into the broth. You don't need to cook them first though. The broth will cook the eggs. Thanks for watching!

  • Lol I used to do this alot! Didnt know it was an actual recipe :o

  • @LaNellyXD I guess anything becomes a recipe once it's written down, eh? Thanks for watching!

  • You forget the leeks

  • @mazzsterX No leeks in this recipe, but they ARE good to add if you want! Thanks for watching!

  • @YungDeezyBaybeh Well, you have the rest of your life to enjoy! Thanks for trying it out, posting the results, and for watching!

  • Wouldn't the egg be Raw and you would get sick?

  • @Chessyfan The egg is soft boiled. So far I haven't gotten sick and haven't heard of anyone getting sick from eating this recipe. Give it a try! Thanks for watching!

  • Just made some myself 06.00 meal.. Night owl food :D

  • @Zelturon91 A great evening snack. When I was young my Dad and I would each have a bowl after everyone else was asleep. Come to think of it, I don't think I ever saw my Dad sleep! Thanks for watching and trying it!

  • Does anyone else boil the noodles really, really long? Usually I put them on, go make a sandwich, eat it, and then get the noodles...

  • LOL thank you , i just cooked mine with you xD Niceee :D :D

  • @ClickHereGOcheer Great! Thanks for watching and cooking!

  • T___________T I do that but then my noodles get all slimy and gross. whyyyy? the eggs also foam up like a freak soufle, leaving all this nasty foam, which I do not like. does it get slimy with yours? i mean I'm sure yours is delicious. Maybe I just pay too much attention to the texture.. T_T

  • @charcharyin Mine doesn't get slimy. You might try turning the heat down to slow the boiling. That might keep the eggs from foaming. Thanks for watching and good luck with your ramen!

  • I drain all the water but sometimes the eggs break so I cannot slurp them oyster-style :)

  • @amazingdany Maybe using less water will work. You won't need to drain as much. Also, if you turn the heat off and cover the noodles and eggs for a couple minutes the eggs will cook a little harder. Thanks for watching!

  • @nonfat Not true! I care! Thanks for watching

  • @cmtoy its very nice to see you still checking & answering any question we have after 5 years. i especially love this video and the cold spicy sesame noodles recipe. do u have any other ramen recipes?

  • I just tried this. Not so bad really. Wasn't the best ramen noodles I ever made but was pretty good. Definitely worth trying and if you don't like it, don't try it again.

  • @ThaBossKyle Very true! Thanks for watching and trying it out.

  • Aaah el ql wn xD yo cuando preparo ramen ni uso cronometro... y si uso, no uso el microondas porque gastai luz por las puras .__. y los huevos se los hecho directo a la hoya... Llevo años cocinando ramen FUCK YEAH

  • The diiference between traditional ramen vs instant ramen. Traditional ramen 24+ hours of cooking, instant ramen 3 mins.

  • Wow, I really Love this! =^_^=

    Subscribed!!

  • The eggs from the grocery store are really two to three months old?

  • Teach me your egg-cracking ways! I always shatter the shell. :c

  • @lCENSOREDI Actually, the best way to crack an egg is to do it on a flat surface. It makes a little round dent that you can push your thumbs into for separating the two halves. Give it a try! Thanks for watching!

  • I've been making this the same way for years. Excellent recipe. Only difference is that I strain all of the water out before eating and I add just a dash of Tabasco sauce. Gives it a small kick -- but my wife claims it smells horrible. Oh well, tastes great!

  • @AuSableRiver11 As long as you like it! Thanks for watching!

  • One of my favorite quick meals!!! thank you sir :)

  • @bml2007 You're most welcome! Thanks for watching!

  • Easy and delicious. Thank you very much!

  • @BrokenLexi You're very welcome! Thanks for watching!

  • Omg, an Asian parent without an accent :o

  • @TeeheeItsVictor But, I do have an accent! It's a cross between a Maine, Boston, and Canadian maritimes accent! Thanks for watching and listening!

  • i remember watching this when i was 14 or 15 freshmen year and trying it. Damn, im 19 and still do this. i feel old now haahha

  • @jayhondaDA9 Well, you ARE older! Glad to hear you are still enjoying after all these years. Thanks for updating me.

  • @ndogkik Enjoy! Thanks for watching!

  • wouldnt be real without the chopstick

  • @WakeFtitan Whew! Good thing I used chopsticks. Thanks for watching!

  • god im sick of these fancy complicated recipes

  • @jeffbriggs1987 That's what great about life...we can choose to be as simple or complicated as we want! Thanks for watching!

  • so bomb with cheddar cheese and tapatio as well

  • @droan999 Great variation! Thanks for watching and posting!

  • when I boil the water it starts to stink the house

  • @thehamsterlover100 Hmmm...your house smells like boiling water? ;-) thanks for watching!

  • My cousin showed me this when it was first uploaded an then yesterday I was eating ramen and though maybe I could make this better. Then I remembered this video and it was so good.

  • @IonicSarge Glad you remembered! Thanks for watching, remembering, and posting!

  • I like to add sriracha to my ramen

  • @MrAlanKyle Yum! Spicy ramen! Thanks for watching and sharing.

  • I don't like my noodles too moist, should I just add in the broth packet and water with the eggs, then the noodles?

  • @atlastpeace Hmmm...well, you want the egg to cook, so, yes, get the water boiling and put the noodles, flavor packet and eggs in all together. The eggs will cook a little faster than the noodles. Let me know how it comes out! Thanks for watching and posting.

  • @cmtoy Thank you so much! It was soooo good. I added one teaspoon (or two) of soy sauce and it was good. XD

  • @atlastpeace Soy Sauce is good stuff! Glad you enjoyed it.

  • Would this work with an instant ramen cup? Like the ones you just pour boiling water into? If I were to drop the egg in when I poured the water in and cover it for 3 min do u think it would work???

  • @AnonymousChai This might be a challenge, but it may be possible. You would need to have enough room in the cup. The egg would need to be at room temperature I think. If it were refrigerated it would cool the water off. The water would need to be boiling. You would also probably have to settle for soft boiled egg. Better yet, if you scrambled the egg before you put it into the cup, that would probably work. Thanks for watching and asking! Let me know how it works for you!

  • Yup, the eggs make it soo much better! I love how it's so fast to make... Well, they don't call it "instant" for nothing. :D Thanks!

  • A few years after watching this, I still make this meal when I want a filling meal or snack, but I'm pressed for time and there's not much in our pantry. The eggs make a HUGE difference. If I have more time, I throw some diced veggies and herbs in to make it healthier. Thanks again!

  • @zeldaoot23 Good to hear the basic recipe has stood the test of time! I think it's probably close to 6000 years old! Thanks for keeping us up to date.

  • Thank you! Quick and easy exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to use the eggs I had left over, and add something to plain Raman so this was great!

  • @iHuntDeals Great to hear it worked for you. Thanks for watching!

  • You Sir, are a God.

  • @iBoBPS3 Well...not a God...but thanks for watching and appreciating!

  • OMFG.....who the hell cant just cook instant noodles...GOD

  • @romonyangzarr An interesting reaction...As The Joker would say...Why so serious??? You'll see in the description that it's just a simple sharing, nothing fancy. Always remember...there was a time when each of us did everything for the first time. Before that first time, we couldn't do it. Once we learn something, it becomes easy, until one day, we will once again lose the ability to do what we once could. Thank you for watching.

  • @cmtoy hahaha your funny.........not really..........and thanks for the lecture even tho it wasn't needed.....-_-

  • @romonyangzarr Do you have daddy issues?

  • ohhh this is how everyone cooks the egg? I though you had to do it like in the picture that it has to be like a boiled egg lol but whaatever im going to try this next time. Is it cooking the egg like that though?

  • first time eating ramen noodles with an egg and I loved it I'm eating my noodles with an egg every time from now on thanks for the video.

  • @markaaron89 Pretty cool eh? Thanks for watching and posting!

  • That looks really good!

  • @robloxcatcher It IS really good! Thanks for watching!

  • So I DID have it right. Sweet. Thank you for the video!

  • Oh my gosh...Use the eggshell to get the broken part out. My brain can't get over how smart that is! No more wasting clean spoons! :O

  • @scoutofthebox Thanks for watching and posting! We don't need no stinking spoons!

  • @cmtoy haha your youtube video just changed my life. Now I always use the egg shell to pick up the broken pieces.

    thanks! and good video.

  • @samiamred It works well! Thanks for watching!
