@cmtoy ok i want to get your opinion i think ramen looks delicious, and i always wanted to try the real thing but im stuck with instant ramen. I tried it for the first time today but i used a plastic measuring bowl and a microwave. Does it taste a lot better when you actually boil the water, or am i doomed to not like food thats looks so amazing?
@cjw1010 I think it will taste much better if you can boil the water. Maybe if you heat the water in the microwave first, then add the noodles and the flavor packet. Get that cooked up. Then add the eggs and cook that up in the microwave with a cover on it to keep it from spattering all over the place. Give it a try and let me know. The idea would be to get the flavor into the noodles and broth. Thanks for your question and for watching!
@MrGermantim Great question! Id say as much as you want for soup. I usually use between 1.5 - 2 cups of water. Let me know how it comes out for you! Thanks for asking and for watching!
@MWFanz Be glad you aren't in Australia. Someone there said a package was over a dollar! Maybe someone should import them from where they are 10 cents! Thanks for watching!
@cmtoy yea im australian, but our dollar is high at the moment and things r expensive over here, but ITS SOO RARE TO FIND A RESTURANT THAT WILL SERVE RAMEN :(
@JPlikesCookies Tahini can usually be found in the international food section of most large grocery stores, sometimes in the Greek section. It's basically sesame seed puree. Thanks for asking and for watching.
@Johnnynogood86052 Just did...so far so good! Under 150, higher HDL, lower LDL. Have you read the Feb 2011 report on eggs from USDA? Anyway, thanks for you concern and for watching! Relax and have some ramen with and egg or two once or twice a week!
@cmtoy I tried this recipe last night. WOW! I find that if the seasoning packet is added after I have drained off the excess water I have better results. Thanks for posting.
@rice4dinn3r *laughing* I'm not sure that it's a good thing that folks would fall asleep while being taught by me! Thanks for watching...and staying awake!
you sir, make this simple dish look soooo delicious. i tried this myself using your methods and it turned out excellent, thanks alot. btw are you Japanese?
@Lubie225 Have you given it a try? IF you have...can you describe why you find it "disgusting"? If you haven't tried it...please do so. I tell my students that they should absolutely make changes to any recipe if they feel the need. If it helps you to feel less disgusted about making the recipe, by all means change the water out. My only caution is to refrain from harsh statements about other people's tastes...it makes for a more pleasant world. Anyway, thanks for watching!
@guitar1188 I don't know that I'm a genius, except that I paid attention when my dad showed me how to do this many many many...years ago! Glad it brought tears of happiness to your eyes. Thanks for watching and sharing!
@mreddieweddie Yes! You can scramble the eggs before you put them into the broth. You don't need to cook them first though. The broth will cook the eggs. Thanks for watching!
Love the video and the food. The recipe was a friendly journey. Thanks for sharing it. I really enjoyed the lovely combination of the eggs and the ramen
@Chessyfan The egg is soft boiled. So far I haven't gotten sick and haven't heard of anyone getting sick from eating this recipe. Give it a try! Thanks for watching!
@Zelturon91 A great evening snack. When I was young my Dad and I would each have a bowl after everyone else was asleep. Come to think of it, I don't think I ever saw my Dad sleep! Thanks for watching and trying it!

@charcharyin Mine doesn't get slimy. You might try turning the heat down to slow the boiling. That might keep the eggs from foaming. Thanks for watching and good luck with your ramen!
@amazingdany Maybe using less water will work. You won't need to drain as much. Also, if you turn the heat off and cover the noodles and eggs for a couple minutes the eggs will cook a little harder. Thanks for watching!
@cmtoy its very nice to see you still checking & answering any question we have after 5 years. i especially love this video and the cold spicy sesame noodles recipe. do u have any other ramen recipes?
I just tried this. Not so bad really. Wasn't the best ramen noodles I ever made but was pretty good. Definitely worth trying and if you don't like it, don't try it again.
Aaah el ql wn xD yo cuando preparo ramen ni uso cronometro... y si uso, no uso el microondas porque gastai luz por las puras .__. y los huevos se los hecho directo a la hoya... Llevo años cocinando ramen FUCK YEAH
@lCENSOREDI Actually, the best way to crack an egg is to do it on a flat surface. It makes a little round dent that you can push your thumbs into for separating the two halves. Give it a try! Thanks for watching!
I've been making this the same way for years. Excellent recipe. Only difference is that I strain all of the water out before eating and I add just a dash of Tabasco sauce. Gives it a small kick -- but my wife claims it smells horrible. Oh well, tastes great!
My cousin showed me this when it was first uploaded an then yesterday I was eating ramen and though maybe I could make this better. Then I remembered this video and it was so good.

@AnonymousChai This might be a challenge, but it may be possible. You would need to have enough room in the cup. The egg would need to be at room temperature I think. Better yet, if you scrambled the egg before you put it into the cup, that would probably work. Thanks for watching and asking! Let me know how it works for you!
A few years after watching this, I still make this meal when I want a filling meal or snack, but I'm pressed for time and there's not much in our pantry. The eggs make a HUGE difference. If I have more time, I throw some diced veggies and herbs in to make it healthier. Thanks again!
@zeldaoot23 Good to hear the basic recipe has stood the test of time! I think it's probably close to 6000 years old! Thanks for keeping us up to date.

Oh my gosh...Use the eggshell to get the broken part out. My brain can't get over how smart that is! No more wasting clean spoons! :O
