  • @Darkwiz900

It's kind of a sad song.

  • rap with me...jenifier.

  • @DrDbleChesBrger1 it's open mic night in hell. sing your heart out there

  • Nice set of pipes ya got there, old man!

    Great song anyways.

  • brad holmes, you are a fucking great singer

  • I love this song Damn....We REALLY need a longer version

  • Such a pretty melody, never heard before.

  • The virgin child, smiles from HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What genre is this technically?

  • *thought.

  • I honestly wonder if this song is supposed to be a reference to anything... I mean, it kind of describes Jeane... Except for one thing. VIRGIN child. And yes, it could be Dr. Peace's daughter that's being referenced, but I kind of doubt it. I think it might just be there to be creepy. And... I wonder if the "virgin child" is maybe an unborn baby in her mother's womb when she's killed? Or a newborn that couldn't survive on its own. As for being in Hell... Maybe she wasn't baptized yet? Just a th

  • @Wadell8 Actually I consider this Jeane´s Theme Song...if you check the lyrics, you can see that it says "The Virgin Child Loses her heart and soul"...When Jean was "hurt" by Travis´s father she lost all kinds of hopes, child like attitude, dreams, love so yeah...also the "Virgin Smiles From hell Part" although Jeane isnt a virgin anymore, she smiles at Travis cause at least she took here revenege

  • @Wadell8

Nah, when they refer to the 'Virgin Child' her soul might hold a more 'childish and pure self' under all of her revenge of Malice. For Jeane I mean.

  • Is there an instrumental of this somewhere on the game disc? I think it plays in Lolikov's bar...

  • Despair, the end of the world I hear the rising phoenix in my dream And the virgin child made her wish upon a star That night her mother talks no more Cape of Hope, the end of the dream A shining fish splashes in a stream And the virgin child loses her heart and soul That night her mother's eyes see no more When the wind blows, The virgin child's corpse sings a song Such a pretty melody, never heard before No more lullabies The virgin child smiles from Hell.
  • Such an awesome song. It describes Jeane's childhood and how she ended up killing her mother and father.

Though I think the murder of her mother was (in her mind) an act of mercy, while the murder of her father was an act of revenge.

  • My favorite boss character

  • Pretty symbolic, having emphasis on the terms, "No more", "Virgin Child", and "Mother". I'm guessing the "Mother" is his ex-wife, the "Virgin Child" his daughter, and the "no more" as a reference to the game's title as well as a sort of mood or philosophical theme to the story. He said he just saw his daughter for the 1st time in 10 years, so I'm guessing that the mother failed to raise her properly and so she grew to be ungrateful and 'bitchy'. I guess it tortured her mother and sealed her fate

  • @DrBuddhaGeek I actually thought it was more of a reference to Jeane's childhood. Never thought of it that way...

  • Well it's open mic night in Hell, he can sing all he wants down there.

  • 6 people were not happy about paying for Dr. Peace's dinner.

  • Awesome song. I just wish we could play a game where Dr. Peace comes back from the grave to kick ass and sing.

  • He's such a great singer.

  • Comment removed

  • Never wanted to kill him... But the song really is awesome!

    btw.. download down^^

  • The song is about Susie Sumner from Killer 7

    PLOT TWIST

  • @countolrox oh I thought it might have been about Jeane...since it fits with her backstory a little...the bit about the mother at least....

  • awsome

  • That's just awesome. :3

  • Though it DOES sound like "Just as the night"

  • Actually the very last verse is "The virgin child smiles from Hell"

But this IS a kick ass song.

  • this song rules!

i had to hear it, since im playing NMH2

  • wut? o,o

  • oh wow

  • its my favorite song it made me cry

  • Comment removed

  • He retracted that statement Delkness.

What he meant was he is Waiting for Nintendos new console to make the 3rd on.

The main series is staying Nintendo exclusive while the other consoles may get spin offs.

  • The re-release for the 360 and PS3 aren't spin-offs. It's the first game in the main series, with added content. So no, the main series is not remaining Nintendo exclusive, and it's entirely possible that No More Heroes 2 will be coming to the PS3/360 as well.

  • Best song ever.

  • Comment removed

  • @PERSONAfan01 K, I should've researched before commenting, but still: its NMH, and I dont think it will have the same vibe without the motion sensor controller.

  • It wont.

  • Same vibe or no, like you said: "it's NMH". I think regardless of platform, people oughta play this gem.

  • boo.

  • "Nice set of pipes you got there old man"

  • Damn....We need a longer version :(

  • No. That just shows how awesome at story telling Suda51 is.

SEE THIS WORLD?! IT BROUGHT A HULKING STEROID FOOTBALL PLAYER TO TEARS! (lol)

  • yes.

  • yes. travis hates you.

  • the song is not about Jeane. That would make Dr. Peace Travis's dad/step-dad.

It's about Dr. Peace's own daughter not Jeane.

Still one of the best songs in any video game and the coolest most indepth boss in the game.

  • Despair, the end of the world I hear the rising phoenix in my dream And the virgin child made her wish upon a star That night her mother talks no more Cape of hope, the end of the dream A shiny fish splashes in a stream And the virgin child loses her heart and soul That night her mother's eyes see no more When the wind blows The virgin child's corpse sings a song Such a pretty melody, never heard before No more lullabies The virgin child smiles from Hell

    -taken from the NMH wiki

  • @sonicmetalgearfox those are some fucked up lyrics i thought they more more like nicer when i heard it

  • I love this song, and Dr. Peace voice too.

  • the best sounding song to come out of a video in my opinion.

  • This is a reference to Jeane by the way.

  • The song? It could fit, but it's not definite...

  • Idasukimase is right is it a reference to Jeane.

  • Unless their is an interview confirming it, it's not definite. It could just be a random song.

  • Listen to Jeane revelation the slowed down version and you will hear that this song is about her.

  • Seen it long ago

No. That doesn't PROVE it. It's a good theory, but their is no proof that it's true.

  • Dr. Peace is singing about his daughter Jennifer not Jeane FelineIce

  • I have to say...that both lyrics sound basically the same...hmmm....could it be...edited? XD

  • I corrected the mistakes, thats why I wrote the lyrics again

    Have a Nice day ^^

  • Despair, The End of the World I Hear The Rising Phoenix In My Dream. And The Virgin Child Made A Wish Upon a Star, That Night Her Mother Talks no More. Cape Of Hope The End of the Dream A Shining Fish Splashes in a Stream And The Virgin Child Loses Her Heart and Soul That Night Her Mother's Eyes See no More. When the Wind Blows, a Virgin Child Comes Sing A Song. Such a Pretty Melody Never Heard Before. No More Lullabies. The Virgin Child Smiles From Hell
  • Another Lyrical error - I swear it's cape of hope, not keep a hold.

  • Requesting download sauce.

  • ''The Virgin just as the Night.''?

I thought it was, the Virgin child smiles from hell..

  • it is The Virgin child smiles from Hell.

  • couldn't get the file to download either, kept going in a website circle

  • i tried the download link but for some reason i can't download the song.

  • the funny thing is the other day I saw a sign above a building that said Dr. Peace's office. I couldnt help but laugh XD

  • this song pretty much underlines the entire theme of the game...

  • This song has some epic foreshadowing in my opinion.

  • explain please.

  • Now looking back on that quote, it wasn't said well. It's not foreshadowing, it's describing Jeane's past and her actions.

    My bad.

I wasn't think straight when I made that post.

  • Actually [and i haveint beaten the game so i might be wrong] Jeane was no longer a virgin when her mother got hurt right? just not sure...but it seems to fit her most.

  • meh he was just another boss wi some nice guns, not a hard one at all.

  • Lyrics from the CD Case Despair, the end of the world I hear the rising phoenix in my dreams And the virgin child makes her wish upon a star That night her mother talks no more Cape of Hope, the end of the dream A shiny fish splashes in a stream And the virgin child loses her heart and soul That night her mother's eyes see no more When the wind blows The virgin child's corpse sings a song Such a pretty melody, never heard before No more lullabies The virgin child, smiles from hell
  • He kinda had to die, he was in the black market and was a killer if u thought it through, but he was awsome.

  • I actually had my brother kill dr. Peace because I really didn't want to

  • @teejayandjon

    been there, done that...

  • well now that I think about the lyrics: "That Night Her Mother Talks no More" and "That Night Her Mother's Eyes See no More" it clarifies that Dr.Peace and his wife saw eachother at teh famous restraunt at NIGHT. but his daughter didn't look at him so she must hate him for some reason, I dunno bout rape (Dr.Peace don't seem like that kinda guy)but maybe it has to do with When Dr.peace and his wife got divorced.

but I still think the song might be bout either case of jennifer or jeane.

  • to Mugiwaramaniac: you make a good point, but there isn't enough proof for that theory.

  • Ok, so we narrowed it down that either it was jeane that got raped by travis's father, or Dr.peace's daughter that got raped by Dr.peace

  • Here's what I think. Peace says that he has dinner with his daughter and wife, but his daughter won't even look at him. This song is about a virgin getting raped and her mother being killed. I think Peace raped his own daughter and killed her along with his wife. That's why he says he'll be able to sing to his daughter again when Travis deals the finishing blow.

  • hmm, i think if you look at the lyrics closely you can see the song is about a girl being raped and her mother being killed, which makes me think this might actually be about Jeane.

  • Thats impossible, Jeane wasn't a virgin, if you listen to her slowed down explanation. It said she sold her body to make ends meet.

  • true but it sounds like this song takes place the night her mother died and before she whored herself to get the lessons to kill her dad and travis's mom.

  • Best video game song ever, RIGHT HERE.

  • To those giving that interpretation about the song being about Jeane, need I remind you that she killed BOTH of their parents? Also, at the same time.

The song rules by the way.

  • Not quite. Travis' father killed JEANNE'S mother. Then, Jeanne killed him and TRAVIS' mother. Travis and Jeanne were half-siblings, not full.

  • I'm sorry, let me correct myself. Travis' father didn't kill Jeanne's mother. He abandoned her for Travis' mother, which made her commit suicide.

  • EES MAGIC, oh wait wrong fight uhm...fuck my entry fee!

    thats better right? :P

  • :)good show

  • fight rank 9 boss sings that, no??

  • ya, his name is Dr. Peace.

  • Too bad he had to die

  • *Sobbing* Why do things like this happen?

  • DESPERATE STRUGGLE

  • FUCKING SEQUEL ANNOUNCED.

  • IT WILL BE AWESOME! AND PLACE THE WII BACK ON TOP WHERE IT ORIGINALLY BELONGED! Also do you think that they will incorporate more of the Wii mote into it?

  • The last game was too linear though. The stages before the boss fights were literally running through one corridor killing people. Uncannily, it was still an awesome game.

  • uh

That's kinda what a beat 'em up is.

  • Nice set of pipes you got there old man.

  • And the food, was it good?

  • Unfortunately, the atmosphere was a facade. Not once did my own daughter look me in the eye.

Oh, the food? Tasted like blood...

Yeah, Dr. Peace was awesome. Definitely one of my favorite assassins in the game, along with Speed Buster and Harvey M. Volodarskii.

  • Bad Girl is Dr. Peace's daughter.

  • Hu? Wheres it say that?

  • WTF O__O

  • yeah i believe that too!! but there is no proof!

  • Okay this entire song is about the very begining before Travis father raped her. Then thats why she gets into the rest about her selling her body and what not.

  • also she said she paid for assaisn lessons with her body

  • Okay the first few lines:

Despair, The End of the World

I Hear The Rising Phoenix In My Dream.

And The Virgin Child Made A Wish Upon a Star,

That Night Her Mother Talks no More.

(This is when her mother first died, and she wished that she could kill the man who made her mother kill herself.)

  • Keep A Hold The End of the Dream

A Shining Fish Splashes in a Stream

And The Virgin Child Loses Her Heart and Soul

That Night Her Mother's Eyes See no More.

(This is about how she loses hope and gets beaten by her step dad and begins to lose hope.)

When the Wind Blows, a Virgin Child Comes Sing A Song.

Such a Pretty Melody Never Heard Before.

    No More Lullabies.

The Virgin just as the Night.

(This is about how she was raped)

  • so ur saying the song is about Jeane, i sapose so....

  • the some parts of your lyrics are wrong

"When the Wind Blows, a Virgin Child Corpse Sing A Song"

and at the end it says

"the Virgin child smiles from hell"

  • yeh but jean e isnt a virgin she says that the dad malested here alot in a bad appartmant

  • This entire songs is a clue to the last boss battle you will fight. Not including the real ending, but just the boss battle against Jeane.

  • This is a cool song. I hate it that you have to kill Dr. Peace. Such a great boss, with a great singing voice!

  • I think its about his daughter... his speech says he and she hadn't seen each other in a while and somethign else about blood so... i assume it means he killed her mom or soemthing..,

  • I don't think that it talks about Emir. The song is perfect for Jeane.

In the first verse Jeane's in despair, her mother is dead (in hell) and she feels the desire to kill her father. In the second verse she's in her house (shinings fish in a stream), knows that she can only dream to kill him, and he continues to rape her. The virgin corpse sing a song talks about the rape.

No more lullabies the virgin smiles from hell talks about the fact that she killed her father so now she'll go to hell.

  • "No more lullabies the virgin smiles from hell" talks about the fact that she killed her father so now she'll go to hell. --- In fact, the verse says that she's no more a child, but an assassin with "a damned soul", if you pass the term.

Sorry for my bad english ^O^"

  • btw, emir parkreiner= from killer7 for those of you who don't know

  • to be honest, i dont think this song has anything specific to do with the game. it can just as easily be a reference to emir parkreiner's killing his mother (when she tried to molest him) than of jeane's life.

  • Find Jeane confession slowed downed version this is a clue to the last battle.

  • if the virgin child is suposed to be jeane then she cant be a virgin if she was basically raped as a child a payd for fightin lessons with her body!

  • Is simbolic, I think. Virgin, usually, means something pure: when she was a child she was pure, then... bad things happened and, well, she loses her heart and soul.

  • Its as weird and oroginal and as good as it gets. This is THE design... Suda 51 is a genius!!!

  • Huh? The song I first heard ended with the virgin child smiling from hell

  • So I just beat this game. Mind = fucked. I saw a video of the slowed down explanation (I understood half of it sped up), but I still have so many questions. Gaaaaaaaaah.

My fave song in the game, btw.

  • Really was her mother murdered? I thought her mother committed suicided when her father left her for Travis's mother?

  • my mistake...but well, her mother is dead anyway

  • SPOILERS (somewhat)

    ---------

that song talks about jeane and her past

the virgin child (before she sold her body)

loses her heart and soul (became an assasin obsessed with revenge)

her mother talks no more (her mother was murdered)

  • Actually Destroyman was a movie character that he copied and that movie had a cult following.

  • Dr. Peace is too good.

  • 1 minute, thirty-one seconds... to be honest, I kind've wish that the song itself was longer.

... Okay, I REALLY wish the song kept going!

  • Very yes. I didn't even care about NMH, really, but now I'm tempted. By a song, even. Am I a tool?

  • Amigo, Video Game Players have been tempted by game demos, gameplay videos, game content announcements, and much more things. I'm pretty sure at least 10% of No More Heroes buyers bought the game, or at least rented it, just to see what they have to do in order to make Travis do the "Beam Sword Charge", and if you've seen a video of this game, chances are, you get that one...

What does that make them, eh? Heh... But seriously though, it's a great game! At least, I think so...

  • I wish the song would go on forever and that Dr. Peace didn't die

  • Best song in a game ever. Other than everything Nobuo Uematsu does because no one can match him. But still an awesome song.

  • i think the coolest boss was holly summers then dr peace.

    speed buster was the gayest

  • Awesome video. No more heroes kicks ass.

    Nice song

    Nice boss

    Nice game

  • Ol' Doc Peace sure knows his songs. Well, karaoke practice pays off. Golden voice, golden gun.

  • harley was the best boss besides bad girl and shinobu.u dont know how sad i got wen i beat this game.travis had done so much killin for nothin..but man did i love the game...

  • I hated bad girl her personality and beinga total copy of shinobu I hated it, but on the flip side if enough copies are sold Suda51 said he would make No More Heroes 2.

  • so i hear,i wonder wat will happen?but still iloved the game and i think harley was the best hands down

  • This is why Dr Peace is awesome. ^^

  • He really was the coolest boss. I'd say Henry was 2nd.

  • But if it's really about a girl being raped , the lines 9 and 10 are pretty sick , because the screaming and crying of the child are described as "a song with such a pretty melody never heard before". It's possible , that this song is from the raper's point of view . . . at least , this is my interpretation .

  • The term is rapist. Not raper.

And everyone has their own interpretation of this song. I think it is about a girl killing her mom. But your interpretation is good too.

  • Is this song by chance about a little girl being raped ?

In line 7 the "virgin loses heart and soul" and the first word of the song is "despair" .

Her mother doesn't talk or look , so she does nothing to help her .

"No more Lullabies" and "the end of the dream" probalby mean the end of her childhood and the last sentence : "The virgin just as the night" perhaps means , that when dawn comes , the night and the virginity are gone .

  • Suda 51 needs to give info on wtf this song is about.

  • no, they need credit for coming up with a great song just for 1 and a half minutes of a game that took me 3 days to beat

  • ..The game its self or dr.peace?

  • the game itself ^_^

  • Lol it took me 3 months to beat Letz Shake.

    140% Goddamn it!

  • i hgope you are mistaken the 5th ranked boss you do not fight trhe irish bloke kills him

  • You know, listening to it now, I wonder if it might actually be about Jeane?

"And The Virgin Child Loses Her Heart and Soul

That Night Her Mother's Eyes See no More."

Jeane's mother killed herself, Jeane blamed her father and vowed to take revenge, leading to her becoming an assassin. Hence: she lost her heart and soul the night her mother died.

And so on. The "wish" would be the wish for revenge, the end of the world and the phoenix represents rebirth into a new life, etc.

  • you know that makes a hell of a lot of sence that might be it. I always assumed it was about a girl either killing or watching her mother be killed.

  • Anyone else think it's a nice touch how the words "No More" are feature prominently in the song and it's title? Lol.

  • Letz Shake has got to be my favorite

  • yeah men letz shake its a very hard oponent

  • I like how all the characters have such deep backgrounds.
