  • I STARED LISTEN TO JOHNNY CLEGG SINCE I 6 .....TILL NOW JOHNNY ALWAYS INSPIRED ME TO THE FULLES

  • todays music S U X johnny clegg forever . greetings from your mates in Marlinja NT Aussie

  • An artist with his lyrics embedded in his beliefs!

More power to Johnny Clegg and the joy that I have in listening to this again!

  • Love Johnny Clegg and his wonderful music!! So inspiring, fresh, and has great rhythm!! Thank you for sharing! Doesn't he have a new album out or will be coming out??

  • Great video. Lovers of Africa will appreciate it. I grew up in Tanganyika, later Tanzania. My book, 'Speak Swahili, Dammit!' is doing well on Amazon, & as an Apple iBook & Kindle eBook. Short video on youtube, with original footage in the bush 1950's & 60's, under Speak Swahili, Dammit!

  • @speakswahilidammit great commercial..........THIS AINT ABOUT YOUR F'N BOOK

  • @1diesel1 Thanks, man!

  • I lov this....=) and 4 people......x0 I'm sorry but if you don't understand this song then why are you here?? Johnny Clegg performs his songs cuz he KNOWS that if he was black and he sang the songs that he sings it would never sell.....

  • As a south african living in the UK now , this song brings tears to my eyes. There was so much hope for the new South Africa but it has just become a gravy train. The poor are worse off than they have ever been and many dreams have been shattered

  • @chocolatepaws as a southafrican child living in south africa this place is the most wonderfull thing that has ever hit planet earth! :) i love it here and i cant leave the bush! <3 no matter how shatterd this place is im staying (although id like to visit my cusnz in the uk)

  • @chocolatepaws I have to agree with You completely...I'll say NO more because you've said it ALL for me...

  • Believe me this man is not fake, and is a very humble man. I have met him personally several times. He got money yes but that does not change him. One day he walked into a Casino Preve eating a roasted mealie which he bought on the side of the street and did not mind sharing it with a starnger who asked him for a piece no questions asked. We need man like that black or white dont matter to me. Not many celebraties of our own can do that.

  • You are so awesome for uploading this song and liking Johnny Clegg!! Thank you!

  • Classic stuff, brew.

  • beautiful song & singing!

  • THE PRIDE OF TANZANIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • i have loved johnny clegg for 25+ years. his boy (man i guess now) jessie s also a musician. doesn't play the same kind of music as johnny does but it'sstill good.

  • Johnny Clegg is a fake...

    Even a Pikinie

If SA breaks out in civil war 2morrow will he stick around to form a solid backup force? As Usual he will skip off to the UK to save his own bacon! Some ZULU U R Johnny Clegg...

Most of SE London is south african or becoming that way white & black together - why can't you do it back home??

  • @CaptainSeaCelt I think you're really wrong. Just see what you're doing you say that Clegg should go back to London, and why? because he's white? That's kinda racism I think. So please just understand that he fought for a free SA because In my opinion SA is HIS country. He worked hard not to hear what you're just saying.

  • @Cedryke69 I COMPLETELY agree with you, but just in case you didn't realise, East London is in South Africa.

    Sorry, I'll leave now :)

  • @CaptainSeaCelt because he doesnt want to? Why should he listen to you? He has achieved more than you in his life and earned his right to be in SA! Thats where his heart is and thats all that matters.

  • Wow! What a geat sound. Bring them to America.

  • Jooooooohny Clegg pantunda... A living Lengend..

  • I've never heard this song before. I really like it !! amazing music

  • Went to South Africa for 4 week's in the summer, best time of my life. We played Jaluka all the way through the country out of our overlander truck! Awesome

  • That was a very good move

  • crime free SA = utopia

  • Johnny Clegg is a one of most geatfull artist and person of world ...

    Thanks for your songs ☺☻

  • You live in Europe, you live in America / asia or Australia, in Africa you are africa. Its so wild and rough but its so beautiful.

It's just... Pure I guess is how you describe it, none of the urbanised stress of "developed" countries.

  • @Dragunai

It might look like this, if you come the first time.

But over all these years, i can see & feel, that RSA ist going to be a country like all the others in the world...

Bear in mind, that many people in the world may be able to visist RSA. Much more do that.

There´s not really a romantic view left, like it is in the movie "out of africa".

SPAR is selling Milka & german musli.

What else can reduce the feeling of wilderness?

  • Yeh its heart breaking, my gf is Norwegian so I'd lover for her to see south africa but it's a dead country. I guess if she is ever going to see it safely I'd have to take her to Kruger or something but event then it's still commercialised =/ it's so heart breaking but what can we do? R.I.P R.S.A

  • Its a shame some people have obviously no idea what Africa means.

If you've spent any amount of time there, Africa becomes part of you, and gets in your blood.

  • I wholeheartedly agree.. I have been to africa including South Africa . When I was there it was like being home again and where I belong.. Africa not only gets into your blood its IS already there DEEP within everyone's soul. They just have to search for it. Johnny Clegg knows this and expressed through his songs and defined traditional song. Good one!

  • yes, my mother is afrikkans but she claims oh africa is horrible. But I'll be on youtube watching videos about stellenbosch or capetown or PE and my mom will tell me get up and She'll lok up videos too. And other times she's angry about money and I'll tell her lets go to the south african store and she'll be like no its stupid, eventualy we'll go and she will be happy for weeks

  • I love and hate Africa...

  • @stonespringbok i can't see why that is a shame...not everybody has the oprtunity to go there in the first place.....

  • @stonespringbok that is true I went to South Africa during the world cup and its something that Ill never forget I rented a car and travel all over and i want to go back again and be able to experience africa world cup or no world cup wot and awesome place

  • @stonespringbok You are Ooh so RIGHT...I should know I spent a 'life time' there & still to this very day I ache for Africa...if it were only possible I would return...but there has been too much damage done...Africa never lets you go...and my spirit will always be there...

  • @stonespringbok It gets in your blood? Sure. Maybe, in a few more years, they'll find a cure.

  • this guy was born in england and he movd to south africa when he was like a teenager and this song ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!but he is an african brittan.

  • was he gay? just asking a very honest question here. coz this sing is just too tuttifruity to forget.

  • nope. He's the white African who dared to dance with the black African.

  • @TopazRavenMoon

No he was the white man clever to make money singing music that the black man will listen too

  • @bushmanspromo

he was fighting against the apartheid system. and he is living in a very small house near cape town and is not a rich person at all.

  • No, he's married and has kids.

  • no - western concepts of colourful clothes etc. don't really hold true in south africa, especially not in the black communities that johnny clegg dances with.

  • he is not gay!

    he has a son!

  • People of the rainbow community can have children!!!!!!!!!!!

  • good song :D

  • Oh I used to LOVE them!! I still do :)

  • Me too, brings back happy memories :)

  • i like this song :) my mom has a CD by him

  • great song! in july i want to beat the mountain!!

  • it just will. It's going to play over and over again while I'm talking over it, Doesn't it seem annoying? lol

  • yes i guess it will

  • haha. I'm using this song for a school project on Kilimanjaro.

It's going to annoy the heck outta my teacher!

  • why will it annoy your teacher

  • @x33bethanyx33

    OH U R SOOOOOOOO ANNOYING! ! !

HIGH on the "annoyance scale", HAHAHAHAHAAAAAA...

    idiotic.

  • Eg baie mooie musiek. Juluka´s great.

  • Johny Cleg. You are truly a son of Afrika! Bless you!

  • You should stop drinking the bath water...fool

  • dude, I dont care where you are born, if you grow up in africa, you become part of africa. And Africa becomes part of you.

Even if after 22 years you return to the country of your birth. Because I guarantee that you will be homesick for africa.

  • @stonespringbok -After 16 years in the UK, I still don't miss Africa or even South Africa. I miss my family that are still stuck in there, and I miss the good times before it all changed and became the mess it is now. Even the UK is not what it used to be.... it must be the people.... there and here

  • @richutube1 change is everywhere mate...some good...some bad..gotta adapt, I lived years in uk , SA , and oz (at present), ..no paradise in any of em....my best years where african though...

  • oi dude he knows how to say the language and he was the first WHITE south african to dance with a black south african (that i know of) and i am white and i love his songs do u even come from africa? if not then dont comment on something u dont know anything about!?!

  • I am a South African, born & bred, personally, I think you are the one that dont know what you are commenting about!! Who are you referring to anyway? you make no sence at all.......

  • @aries4245 He was born in Rochdale, not London, but either way it doesn't make a difference, if he considers himself African he's African, simple as.

  • awesome. classic
