This song is one of the most beautiful songs ever made. However the concert of Snatam Kaur playing is so much better, when you actually look up the song MA as they are talking about it. If someone could help me locate that song and not the website that just has the guru Ganesh and Snatam talking about the song I would be most appreciative. Her voice is so much deeper, she carries the MA so much differently. PURELY AWESOME.
Some time ago at a concert given by snatum kaur and guru ganesh gg led us , about 50 in a room where we were close, in this song standing with our eyes shut all singing the sound Ma while remembering our mothers - wow - pretty powerful stuff.

Ma is the original name of the Mother. Chanting Ma invokes the Divine Mother and opens the connection with your own mother. Chanting "Bountiful am I, blissful am I, Beautiful am I" is affirming the successful manifestation of every mother's prayer for her child.
@kriann Ma means "Mom" it's shortened version of "Matta"(Mother). It is often used to address the female concept of God such as Kali, Durga, Lakshmi etc. I wouldn't say it's exclusively Hindu, because anyone of any religion can address the female aspect of God. Sikh's being a very pluralistic and eclectic religion has no problems honoring any conception of God be it Hindu, Christian or Muslim. "Some Call Good Khuda, some call him Ram and some Allah" This is a Sikh kirtan(song) I heard
