This is my favorite song by the Chuck Wagon Gang. This generation does a beautiful job. I have been listening to them for at least fifty years, or more. Love their style and how it's being preserved, the sound is so close to the original group.
I also love He Hideth My Soul, that has Shaye Truex in it. Dave is the best bass, love him.
As the grandson of a former member of the Chuckwagon gang....I thank God my Grandparents rasied me in this lifestyle. I am now 45 and have been in the business 33 years. Thank you Grandma!!
We heard the Chuckwagon Gang at Renfro Valley, Kentucky. They are wonderful. Anyone who gets a chance to hear them--try to do so. I am so happy they are keeping this old music alive.
I went to a Chuckwagon concert in Pine Bluff, Arkansas many years ago..they were some of the original singers back then, these younger singers sound much like the "originals" good job..."looking for a city" many have gone on to be with the Lord in that..City!
Thank you for posting this video I must have watched and listened 50 times...motivates me to find out where the CWG is performing and to see them in person. This is the perfect song for them.
I love this song. They are almost as good as the originals. I wish there was more southern gospel music like this. Sometimes I think they try to jazz it up too much and still try to call it Southern Gospel when it starts to sound more like country or pop music.
It's like Sunday dinner with fried chicken and mashed potatoes with all the family there when I hear these guys..sound had stayed pretty much the same from the 40's when I first heard most of the origianl group!
I grew up listening to and watching the Chuck Wagon Gang and most others from that time. My parents being ministers, I got to go to a lot of concerts. Those were the good ol' days.
They have been awesome for the past 50 years that I have heard them! They still sound the same as the originals. I try to see them at least once or twice a year! Thanks for the video!
Thanks to all of you for your comments, I get a Blessing every time I watch this video, I am glad that you all enjoy this one as much as I do. Truely Gospel music, Praise his Holy name.
glad to hear im actually realted to this group on my fahter's side of the fam also related to johnny cash by marriage june cater is my blood relative and i am also realted to the carpenters. i've seen my family tree fro my grandmother louise hellen moore so glad all is enkoying thi music is a blessing to hear that we are helping people in this way!
I love this song, and the Chuck Wagon Gang is one of my favorite Gospel groups. I don't think, however, that it would hurt to turn the tenor down just a bit...I mean the alto has the lead and you can't really hear until towards the end. Oh well, Praise God anyhow. lol
Absolutely beautiful!!! Mother loved this music!!!

Why don't we hear this great music anymore? If it were on the radio, I'd tune in regularly. Am I old fashioned?

My grandmother loved the Chuckwagon Gang. We found at least 5-6 albums of theirs in her house, when she died. She loved listening to them a lot.

Love the voice of the woman on the left. Are there any videos of her singing solo? What is her name?
Lsbud 3 years ago
The lady to the left's name is Penny Greene. I believe they have her singing the melody line on 'I'm gonna see Heaven'.
