  • que curioso que sakura y onda tengan el mismo calzon jajjaa

  • @DaBestMex1 Si, pero de diferente talla! XD

  • very interesting , sakura and onda have the same underwear lol que intyere

  • terry bogard for the MOTHERFUCKINGWIN!!!

  • Its funny how they compare SF with KOF... KOF OWNS BETCHES <3

  • Lol Ryo called Sakura a scrub

  • @MidnightRoninAsura19 I will kick his ass by insulting her >_<

  • I really miss CvS2. Large cast, signature gauges, custom colors and many many more. It would be nice to play it again on PSN or XBL.

  • Pity. No rip-off jokes

  • Is there an episode where they face gill? If not then make one.

  • ken and robert are pretty similar.. they both are good with kicks n have same sky uppercut..

  • whats the last song called i know its from alpha three

  • that fight is epic.

  • has otros

  • That was one hell of a fight!!!

  • gotta love that sakura fight intro

  • Ryo's a smug little bastard, man fuck that Kock Ass Karate of his or whatever it is

    SAIKYO FTW!

btw nice touch not using any Mr. Karate characters

  • The argument of Ryu vs. Ryo has been going on for a while. If you really want to know something, they were originally drawn by the same people. But MisterWhat is correct, all fighting games and there characters now are spin offs of "Karate Champ". Though the game featured more than just practitioners of karate.

There really isn't much point in arguing it, when it comes down to it, Ryu and Ryo are basically the same, just didn't view points of the same character.

  • @Pantha35

ryo was made first then capcom srapped it and then made ryu and that's then the guy took ryo to SNK and thus making Art oF fighting

  • @kyuubiflame

You're right, but my point wasn't really about who was made first, it was just that they're all pretty much the same when it boils down to it. The only one that really even stands out in the group of characters that fight like them is Robert, and that's only because it he dresses nice to battle.

  • @Pantha35 everyone in KOF dresses nicely LOL which is really funny but gives them more personality

  • @kyuubiflame

Not everybody, but lots of them do have pretty decent style in clothes. But yeah, you're pretty much right on that. lol

  • you guys are a bunch or nerds.

  • @nubiayefrainyvicky Karate nerds if you please, sir.

  • Robert should show a little respect...

  • KOF sucks it suffers from cheap ass gameplay and its broken as hell, Its the Battletoads,Superman 64 of fighting games but not that enjoyable

  • @zhalain86

Like SF isen`t broken? It`s like you never played more than one fighting game in your life.

  • Art Of Fighting FTW!

  • just thought of something... Where the heck is King?!

  • no mames, ni se ve q este video tiene preferencia por los peleadores de sf, todos sabemos q los peleadores de kof no tienen comparacion con los de sf, los de kof son mucho mejores

  • I DoNT LIKE THE ART OF FIGHTING BUT I GOTTA BE THE KING OF FIGHTERS!

  • @YGOTrades Ryu is stronger then Ryo end of story plus he has hidden powers like the SATSUI NO HADOU

  • @yemster13 why'd you reply to me?

  • @YGOTrades you said somethin about ryo being better then ryu cause his moves are more betterwhen ryu has to be the same cause he was a main character and has to be consistant

  • @yemster13 Uh, no I didn't....

  • @yemster13 He certainly wasent stronger back in the days. Only 3 specials against 8 of Ryo`s.

Both are top tier of they`r own games, that is that.

  • @MisterWhat Satsui no Hadou thats all im sayin

  • @yemster13 Real karatekas don`t need to Super Sayian excuse.

  • @MisterWhat its not Super Sayian dummy its part of ryus strength just like how Ryps style is his strength. Ryu is more displined and fought powerful opponents that make Ryo look like nothing

  • @yemster13 Learn what sarcasm is. It will do you good.

Your last sentence is funny. Canon wise, he lost against Ken and Sagat, and then won against Sagat again. Won against Alex and trained under Oro.

Ryo won against Mr Karate, Geese and Silber. How does Ryu`s achievements make the other guy look like "nothing"?

  • @MisterWhat First of all Ryu wasnt fighing Ken at full strength thats number one. Also hes fought many people just to let you know like Bison. I dont know what Ryo did that was so great

  • @yemster13 Your number one is wrong, where did you got that excuse from?

Your number two makes little sense. You were saying Ryu fought guys that would make Ryo`s achievements look like "nothing". Where is the proof of that, when Ryo, canon wise, has defeated guys like Mr Karate and Geese?

  • @MisterWhat Sagat will beat the shit outta Geese, Akuma beat the shit outta Geese, Bison BEAT THE SHIT OUTTA GEESE, ken BEAT THE SHIT OUTTA GEESE. the proof is in streetfighter wiki you fool. Seth will also beat the hell outta geese. So dont gimme that crap and this Mr. Karate guy please akuma and bison will make that guy cry

  • @yemster13 Haha, SF Wiki. And here i was thinking i was talking to someone who played the games. Go back to school chump, you and your motown "hes gonna beat da shit out dat guy" lyrical crap. Caps lock can`t hide how ignorant you sound.

    Sagat, roflmao.

  • @MisterWhat Your a fool lets consider this Ryu was made long before Ryo. He is a straight up copy and decided to tweak to make him seem different. Ryu has to stay constant as a videogame character in anime or comics his fighting is really shown. He has defeated many fighters and is more legit then that fake ass Ryo. So shut the hell up. Kyo, Terry, Rock,Ken, Ryu, Akuma and whole bunch others can defeat him.

  • @yemster13 Let`s all consider that you brought up something that got nothing to do with how both characters performed in canon, and show your ignorance once again, by pointing out that both Ryu and Ken are off shots of the two Karate characters sold in the game art of "Karate Champ", who was a franchise before SF.

Then, let`s consider how obvious it is that not only you are frustrated, you also don`t know what you are talking about.

Let`s consider all that and pray for knowledge.

  • @MisterWhat I pointed out? You mean after you started arguing about originality, eh? And canon wise the argument is still the same. Ryo fought guns of the same tier caliber of Ryu. In fact, let`s consider that Ryo is canon wise a direct peer to Terry (an example you gave below) in one timeline and seemingly superior in another, being in fact named as stronger than Takuma.

Knowledge. Now that is a fine, fine word.

  • @MisterWhat I think you made a mistake while replying. Maybe you should try again.

  • @MisterWhat What dam part have i not said that was canon like i said Ryu has the satsui no hadou its part of who he is either he loses control or somehow controls it in some way Ryo has no dam chance in hell against hiim now im done

  • @yemster13 Satsui that never made him unbeatable, and without it, he loses as much as he wins. Nothing of that spells anything so amazing that he can easily beat someone who is another top tier. I hope you are really done with this kind of fanboy ignorance.

  • @yemster13: Even with being possessed by a demon, Ryu stands no chance against Ryo Sakazaki.

  • @yemster13 He can`t be a copy. AOF was made by the same guys who made SF. Its right there in the manual. If you consider him a copy, then so would be Ryu, since in SF1 he looked exactly the same as the Champ Japaneze guy, except with red shoes.

  • @yemster13 I'll put it this way: Shin Akuma = Serious Mr. Karate. Shin Akuma > Rugal, according to God Rugal in CvS2. Also, Ryo gained character evolution, and while Ryu staying consistent may be a good thing, Ryo is now a unique fighter in his own right.

  • @JetfrostEXE

that's how SNK rolls cause have something for too long will get BORING

  • @yemster13

I know this is old, but saying that Ryu has the Satsui no Hadou is the same as talking about Terry Bogard's manifestation of the same kind of power. The only reason the Satsui no Hadou even exists is because it was a borrowed idea, giving Ryu the same type of power as a competitive character. Only Ryu's has been pretty much thrown everywhere while Terry's only showed up in the Fatal Fury 2 Movie. Seeing as Evil Ryu showed up three years after that movie was released in SFA 2.

  • RYO >>> RYU

RYO IS TOO STRONG FOR RYU

KYOKUGEN RYU IS A STYLE WITH MORE MOVES AND RYOS HAO SHO KOOKEN IS SUPERIOR TO HADOKEN

  • @Rennba no FREAKIN way if they a series or movie Ryu would still wipe that ass ok plus hes more discipled and doesnt let confidence get in his way also capcom has to stay consistant with Ryu style cause they had it for years as a main character unlike Ryo a dam side character

  • sorry dude, aof>ryu ken etc

  • All the fighters in this fight were impressive!! Especaily Ryu and I never seen him do his SFA3 pose in CvS as wll. Which Ryu is this and who made him?

  • GO SAKURA!

  • The video was good, but Ryu's music si The Road? I think it's the worst Ryu music.

  • I like Mr. Takuma's style

  • Wow. Who would've thought a harmless mugen video would spawn infinite fanboy comments...

  • capcom is on original now

c.viper is terry bogard, benimaru nikado and kin jae hoon with the look of vanessa

    and abel is clark still

    rufus is chong choi

  • @kyuubiflame dont try to go on about capcom ripping off characters, look at the SNK roster before spreading your bullshit

  • @LORDUnLuCkY13

Shhhh be quiet, you reveal to know nothing. If you did, you would know Capcom and SNK do have some of the same workers. You would also know Capcom has ripped off of SNK and SNK has done the same. Here's something just for you...

Ryo is a rip off of Ryu and Ken. SNK later admitted this. This was to make fun of their largest franchised character. Capcom fired back by making fun of Ryo by making Dan. Capcom has also admitted this.

  • @scaibs the fact that they have some of the same workers is irrelevant. there is a difference between a character that mocks another series and a character that blatantly steals from another series. you made that up, ryo was a simple rip off character, there was no mocking intended or else they would not have made him the star of Aof. capcom's dan was a mock at the fact that snk completely ripped of the character. this is all image, setting aside the numerous movesets SNK have jacked

  • @LORDUnLuCkY13 The fact he has his own game doesn't mean anything. Ralf Jones and Clark Steele have their own game also. But it means nothing in the KoF universe, hence to Ryo's abilities in the Capcom vs Snk world

  • @scaibs no, when capcom make a mock character they play him on the sideliens they do not make him the star of a game. the only reason his abilities have been toned down is because people dont wanna see a ryu rip off

  • snk loves and respects their fans specially in korea, spain , mexico , japan and even canada

i bet only a few knew that maxima was harry ness ftom daraku tenshi

and same with shen long and k'

and snk aswell has the biggest fan/anime character roaster in any company

  • how fucking stupid can you all get.kof is deemed evolution in fighting game history, snk will always be number cause they tend to fans, masses and never disappoint

snk has always given depth to each character 70+ in the kof world alone

20 years and ryu is still fighting Vega

20 years and 100s of things change i kof

capcom is really not going anywhere with sf

  • @kyuubiflame how ignorant can you get. never dissapoint? thats not what ive heard. plus they give depth to main characters then fill in the gaps with random chars.

still fighting vega? now i know you know nothing about the SF series. the SF series is far from obselete.

  • @LORDUnLuCkY13 @LORDUnLuCkY13

I like both Street Fighter and KoF. So to give you a neutral perspective on things... Street Fighter has not progressed in story line, it always involve evil organizations except for the first Street Fighter and the story lines are in consistent. Street Fighter's only has a few with in depth back grounds. KoF's characters all have in depth backgrounds. KoF's story changes and is consistent. Street Fighter and KoF has ripped off each other in characters.

  • @scaibs there is no such things as a neutral perspective jackass, evry1 likes one series more than other. Kof is about evil organisations too, the orochi sagathen the NESTS saga. SF characters DO have in depth backgrounds you fool, they just arent all whiny and tragic. SF puts the gaming experience before the storyline, if the game is good then most ppl overlook a few minor gaps in the storyline

  • @LORDUnLuCkY13 there is a neutral perspective, i honestly like both games equally. Oh, really? Can you even tell me who Volcano Roso is, or better yet... ? Orochi is not an evil organizations moron. Get your facts straight. Orochi is an entity served by primarly 4 people but consists of 8 people in order to be revived. Like I said, you don't know spit. Stop trying before you really embarass your self

  • @scaibs bull shit, the only neutral perspective is sumone who has never played either game. one dude served by a bunch of other dudes for evil = evil organisation asshole.

dont try to act smart dickwad

  • @LORDUnLuCkY13 No, read a dictionary moron. An evil organization differs from a small group of people. Hence there being two different words, learn your definitions better. I'm not trying to act smart, I just have some common sense. You try to blend things all too close to try and defend your self

  • @scaibs and who exactly serves bison? Vega, Balrog, Sagat. teh only reason it is an evil organisation is because they have money simple as. dont play that shit, type in perfect sentences, talk like you actually have a clue what your on about, the classic youtube smartass.

  • @LORDUnLuCkY13 Are you serious? Bison scinetists up the yazoo and men working for him. Only reason Vega, Balrog, and Sagat have the spot light is because they are the focal point of the organization other than Bison. As clearly seen in SF VI

  • @scaibs yes but it essentially serves the same purpose in the games as the orochi, because none of the series protagonists ever fight any1 from shadaloo outside of the main 4

  • @LORDUnLuCkY13 You must not know the Orochi story. That story is derived off of Japanese mythology it self, redefined in KoF. Serves the same purpose? You can say that about any bad guy in any fighting game, they want to destroy the world or dominate it. Orochi and Shadoloo don't have the same goal if that's what you imply. Orochi = a god which is assembled by 8 different people's powers. There's more to it, but for me to speak more of it becomes in depth

  • @scaibs just because the backstory is different doesnt change the fact that the story is simply the protagonist/s trying to stop the world from being taken over/destroyed blah blah, its been done a million times before but if something isnt broken, why fix it?

  • @LORDUnLuCkY13

If you are arguing about the ending result of a story, than you made a pointless argument. Of course the ending result is going to be the same, hero wins, villain is beat who wants the world. How to go about the story is what I am talking about.

  • @scaibs so your saying because they make orochi some sort of god that is more unique than a dictator? well then SF3 series has gill who is god like does that make it any more unique

  • @LORDUnLuCkY13 Are you trying to argue with me on the basis of what their purpose and result? Seriously? Evil is going to be evil, purpose is evil and result is evil. Shadoloo and Orochi is evil. But how it's progressed is far different. Street Fighter never strayed away from the evil organization act of how it's formed and how they go about doing things. We're not talking about results, we're talking about progression

  • @scaibs and why should they stray from that act?

  • @LORDUnLuCkY13 Because it becomes predictable.

  • @scaibs like you said good guy beats bad guy, its always gunna be predictable

  • @LORDUnLuCkY13 Yeah. But how it's progressed is what keeps up watching. Perfect example... Every Batman movie there has been people have seen, especially these new ones. Even though they know Batman is gonna win, they still go watch it. Why? To see how the story progresses and to watch how he wins.

  • @scaibs the story progression is different, the focus is on the tourney not on the evil organisation. and by saying that its boring or predictable you are expressing your opinion, not fact.

  • @LORDUnLuCkY13 @LORDUnLuCkY13 Progression really isn't that different. I can sum up every Street Fighter sl into one page unlike KoF. KoF is simply about story, why it's better. Street Fighter focuses on game play.

You'd be surprised... KoF is more popular than Street Fighter in most other countries other than the United States. KoF is highly favored in singapore, korea, mexico, canada, and japan over Street Fighter.

  • @scaibs im from the UK SF is huge here teh release of SFIV is big news, KOF on the other hand is only known by fighting game fans or hardcore gamers.

well if i had to choose between gameplay and story id much rather have gameplay, although i think SF's storyline is good enough as it is.

  • @LORDUnLuCkY13 I wouldn't doubt it. SF VI received a lot of coverage before it's debut. But I wouldn't expect no less, sense there hasn't been a canonical Street Fighter game in several years prior to SFVI. KoF stays consistent in trying to release a new game every year. So something that comes around rarely compared to something that's always around is going to get a lot more coverage, probably a lot more fans too.

  • @scaibs alot of ppl know the SF series from when they were kids, although i dont know how far any SNK games were spread

  • @LORDUnLuCkY13

SNK released a couple of revived games, but they arn't that expanded as Capcom; Resident Evil series, Devil May Cry series, etc. SNK really focuses on fighting games, AoF, Fatal Fury, Samurai Spirits, and of course King of Fighters. But it was nice chit chatting, I can't be on this thing all day. So I'm out of here, later.

  • @scaibs and you blatantly overlook my arguments because you have no counter argument, SNK fails

  • @LORDUnLuCkY13 counter argument? I gave you're counters, an 8, which in fact is a 4 man group can not be compared to an organization, hence Orochi is what I'm talking about, which I've clearly said. About mockery characters and characters of their own game, already made my point. Made my point on the tone down of Ryo and him being the star of his own game by making an example of Ralf and Clark.

  • @scaibs yes but ive already told you why your arguments about mock characters and ryo is bull. fine. so orochi isnt an oragnisation, it still serves the same purpose in games and snk DOES have evil organisations, there is nothing wrong with it

  • @scaibs you also failed to counter my argument that SNK brings back any worthless character, wheras capcom makes calculated decisions on what characters are GOOD DESIGNS

  • @LORDUnLuCkY13 Because that's a subject based on your personal likes and dislikes. To where you find them worthless, I find them alright. Like Ralf and Clark, great characters and had their own nintendo game called Ikari Warriors, another good game for what it was in the Nintendo game.

  • @scaibs but by saying that characters liek retsu and geki have no depth you are implying that capcom should give depth to characters that have been deemed useless and unpopular, when they could spend such time bringing in new innovative characters

  • @LORDUnLuCkY13 Speaking of useless characters, Capcom's Street Fighter 4 brought back T. Hawk. But like I said... Revived characters or new characters, they are all based on your personal opinion if you like them or not, it has nothing to do with fact.

  • @scaibs due to demand he was brought back, the decision to bring him back made sense

  • @LORDUnLuCkY13 Same can be said with SNK's returning character. If you find a character stupid and it's been brought back. You can thank the person who demanded him to brought back.

  • @scaibs but they bring back a large amount of character, they cant all be requested by the masses

  • @LORDUnLuCkY13 Let me rephrase when I say KoF is better, I meant in creating stories and staying consistent with them they are better at.

  • @scaibs well that is your opinion, i dont think the same way, SNK s stories may be more varied but i like the simplistic storyline of SF and because there are fewer characters

  • @LORDUnLuCkY13

that's fine, i like in depth stories.

my whole point out of this whole thing, was not to critisize either SF or KoF, but just to show they can be as good as the other and that there is no sense is hating one or the other just because you like one or the other more

  • @scaibs well my original comment was a reply to a prick, i dont have anythin against SNK, the competition is likely to make capcom try harder, which is good for SF fans

  • @scaibs they brought almost all of SF 2 back cause they suck at making story to progress

instead they make a half assed prequel so they didn't have to make too many new characters

  • @LORDUnLuCkY13 Or better yet, how about Allen Snider or Geki? How about Ingrid? How about Nanase? Retsu too? List goes on.

  • @scaibs SF EX is an abomination it is NOT a part of the main SF storyline. SF 1 characters were left behind because they sucked, capcom only brings back designs worth something, unline SNK who will bring back any shit stain character.

  • Another HQ matchup, I knew it would come down to Ryu and Ryo and that Ryu would win, but it was still a good match, I wanted to see Ken fight Ryo just because their appearance is too close to each other.

  • also, Ryo's not that arrogant. > : \ I mean, he does take pride in Kyokugen but he respects his opponent and tells someone if they're good and such.

  • Why choose that version of Ryo? I mean, Capcom did a horrible job with Capcom Vs SNK 2 and made almost everyone that wasn't a full shoto into one, not to mention that unbalanced the game and made most of only the Capcom characters good. Ryo doesn't play that similar to Ryu in the later KOF series, but this game made it seem like it. > : \

  • @Siberianhusky89

That's not CvS2 Ryo. It's a custom Ryo with CvS sprites. And about his personality, there is only snk to blame there, since they never made a very good job fleshing it out in the kof series.

  • Really? Are you sure? It looks very similar to Capcom Vs SNK 2's Ryo. I mean, Ryo's not so much of a jerk in SNK games, not to mention horrible translations. I mean, if you want an asshole in the game, I'd say that title belongs to one of the main "heroes" in the game... (Kyo Kusanagi)

  • SNK characters are pretty faggy, Kof is just tooo girlly, snk wasn't like that in the beginning.

  • @EvilRyuGuy

He didn`t mentioned the personality, he mentioned the particular gameplay design.

  • @EvilRyuGuy ryo is a beastin kof man what do you mean snk didn't do a good job. siberian dude is right cvs2 is a straight up unbalanced game, if you an sf fan then you can enjoy it but other than that they screwed up snk fighters

  • @EvilRyuGuy Actually, his personality has always been fleshed out since AOF. He is nothing like Ryu, for example.

  • @MisterWhat Take a look at his quotes during the kof series. Half of them are generic and give no insight to his personality and the other are just him talking about Kyokugen. And the endings don't help him much either, with his dad taking most of the spotlight with his Mr. Karate antics.

AOF didn't have a lot of dialogue anyway. Only in AOF2 you could see a bit of a kenish attitude, but that's it.

Not saying that Ryu is the fighter with the most personality ever either though.

  • @EvilRyuGuy You just prove you either have a sketchy notion of what personality is, or that you havent played most of those games.

Ryo always had personality, even in AOF1.

  • @MisterWhat I have played them, and according to my sketchy notion "Tell me where Yuri is!" and "Hang on Yuri, I'm coming!" don't say all that much about the guy.

  • @EvilRyuGuy They say more than someone who barely spoke, doesn`t it?

The game shows, for example, that Ryo cared more about protecting his family than just fighting for the lolz.

  • @MisterWhat That's nothing but the basic reaction of any non evil and fighting capable fictional character under the same situation. Kinda like Final Fight's Cody. He originally almost didn't have a personality, he was just your typical damsel in distress hero brawler style, but then he got included in SFA3 and his redesign completely changed that. In the other hand, Ryo's inclusion in KOF didn't help him as much.

  • @EvilRyuGuy No, it isen`t. There wasen`t anyone back then, who worked under the same story roots, everyone wanted to be a champion, Ryo cared more about family survival. He cared more about being a father to Yuri.

It`s easier for Cody to benefit with the SF inclusion he was mainly a blank page before Alpha3.

  • Which version of Robert and Takuma is that?

  • Comment removed

  • great honda just got beatend

  • Haha! Ryu/Ken's team = automatic win!! =XD

  • i like how the art of fighting fighters each time they do a combo move or a strong move you hear like an AHHHHHH lol if i was a fighter and one of my moves did that i will be like FUCK YEE

  • god the roberto i have 4 mugen is a bitch......ican never beat him

  • 0:28

Lol. That image along with the theme being played goes together perfectly. Guile looks like he wants to cry.

  • wow the damage difference between the characters... MUGEN at its finest I suppose.

  • In deleted epiosde #2, a team comprised of girls from SF3(in SF3 sprites(Ibuki, Makoto, and Elena(all in SF3 Third Strike sprites) fight the 3 Kings of Orochi(all in KOF '97 sprites(Yashiro(in KOF '98 artwork), Shermie(in Neo Geo Battle Colosseum), and Chris(in KOF Neowave artwork), fight at the USA stage in KOF '97. That's all for the deleted episodes, tell them you didn't want these episodes because they would be too cliche.

  • Hey so Takuma wasn't fighting seriously?

  • instead of e honda they should of atleast put sean on there lol

  • I WAS JUS GONNA SAY THAT!

it makes so much sense like a master/student team

    ryu mentors sakura

    ken mentors sean

  • Takuma didn't fight at full here as implied in the story, probably to teach Ryo to be humble and respect other fighters.

  • LMAO , 3:26 robert knows ken's kuzuryu reppa?!?!?!

  • King of Fighters 2000. This is the AOF's theme on the game. It's OST though

  • Correction, it's called Beauty ANd The Beast and thanks.

  • kof ftw

  • Ryu said something good lol

  • The Art of Fighting 200 theme is the song playing during Ken Vs Robert

  • From where?

  • lol it's the battle of random fighters in karate gi!! This is the result of unoriginality, with Ryu being the exception, as he was the original, therefore he is THE man in the Karate Gi!!!

  • I know it's so weird in Mugen to watch characters fight their own clones (Ryu vs Kyo, Zangief vs Daimon, Sakura vs Yuri). Then again, in Street Fighter itself, Ken, Sakura, Dan and Akuma are all really Ryu clones. It's enough to do your head in.

  • WORD!!

  • I just realized what you were agreeing with. Word, indeed. But clones or not, some of the fights EvilRyuGuy put together are great. Ep.1: Mature/Vice vs Balrog/Vega. Crazy, epic, balanced fights between characters who have never met in a game before: it's why we love mugen.

  • DAN IS NOT A CLONE X(

  • Ryu and Dan: both wear gi's, use shotokan strikes, have a thrown projectile delivered from a martial art stance, a jumping uppercut and a forward-moving flying kick with variable distance. There are some minor tweaks (Dan's super moves are different and his over the top personality is funny), but characters like Rufus and El Fuerte prove that the designers still have good ideas up their sleeves, and don't need to clog SF with clones.

  • ok so does ken akuma gouken sakura & sean

    are they clones too! 0_0

  • Using my original criteria, all but gouken are clones (I haven't consistently observed Gouken). Back in 1999, fleshing out Ryu clones with different super moves and altered stats was ok, but these days, fans demand more variety, and cloning is just lazy. Of course, Dan is still funny and Sakura is still adorable.

  • now i understand were ur coming from butthey all use the same fighting style so ofcourse there gonna dress and fight similar but there not the exact same

  • Of course the discussed characters are not exactly the same; SF4 Ken is a stronger closerange fighter while Sakura is more mobile. However, these characters are derivative, while El Fuerte and Rufus add a new dimension to gameplay. In my world, originality and successful risk count more than reinterpreting old formulas.

  • well clones are suppose to be the exact same but there not, clone isnt a good way 2 put it

  • In the case of Kyo, I believe "clone" is exactly the right word, because he was clearly created to be the "Ryu" of Neo Geo's Art of Fighting series. However, I will agree that "clone" is an unfair name for Sakura, Dan, Akuma, etc, because those characters have developed some independence of style. "Derivation" or "descendant" might be better, but clone is conveniently short when we're limited to 500 characters per comment.

  • PART II:

On the issue of Daimon and Zangief, i do consider the concept between them as a powerful grappling, but first of all Daimon's movelist is also different, the commands consist of combinations and continues. secondly he also carries moves that counter others, third he has moves that lift you off the ground, Zangief does not. And to answer your "rip" factor, the developer of the first SF are in fact the same who developed AOF/KOF, Takashi Nishiyama, no rip factor counter for.

  • I actually was talking about Kyo, but this new insight (SF, AOF and KOF are from the same developer) takes the bottom out of my argument, so I must concede defeat. AOF/KOF are not imitators, but exports of the SF formula by the same person to a different platform. You know your stuff. Cheers.

  • Thank you sir, i prefer to think of our argument as a compromise that brought various good points. I consider KOF,AOF and SF to be brother franchises, that have taken different directions to appeal to various fans, although there are those that refuse to acknowledge any similarities. But someday i wish everyone will know that. :-)

  • @cleverandruthless

No disrespect but youve gotten your characters completely confused.

Ryo Sakazaki is the Gi-wearing Ryu clone from Art Of Fighting.

Kyo Kusanagi is a totally seperate character who didnt appear until 1994's King Of Fighters.

Not starting an argument, just correcting your recent posts in which youve made this mistake.

  • Upon review, you are correct. I didn't realize my argument had technical as well as substantive flaws. Good times.

  • @firespin97 ryu is the original ken is ryu if he was faster akuma is ryu if he was stronger gouken is ryu if he can shot up and diagnol shaun is ryu with no power dan is ryu if they made him like ryo oni is jacked up akuma and evil ryu is a jacked up ryu like akuma and violent ken is in his own category so everyone in SF is a fucking clone this is why i like the diversity of SNK and in KOF
