The reason coyotes were okay is because they had three wheels. Inline skates have three or more wheels for a reason, not just to fill the space in between the outer wheels. Skates with only two wheels dip into every pit and pothole. If you make a two wheel (or quad) skate for street or off-road skating, you should expect the frame to contact the ground and have a bumpy ride. The best setup is a big front wheel with small closely spaced trailing wheels (flickr.com/photos/27532210@N04/).
Serious question : Do they still make these? I've been picking up roller skating recently and I've been looking for some regular inlines and All terrain skates.
I've heard about the skorpions but I think these are a bit better. (TIRES are better than big rubber WHEELS IMO)
So do they still make these or not? I've heard because of slow sales that they don't manufacture the Coyotes anymore. Is it true? They seem to be the best all terrains I've ever seen.
I also have the Coyotes. They are great but must take care in off road use because you can be easily hurt if you don't have a good control. My next proyect: motorize them! Something similar to bunduboots (search on youtube)
I had a pair of these four years ago. They were awesome but VERY unwieldy. I play ice hockey... since I was six. I have used inline skates for years on bike trails mostly. I used these for four months but forgot to check the tire pressure!!! Lost control and my leg rotated behind me and I snapped my tib-fib right at the boot cuff! It was surreal as hell watching my lower leg rotate around and flop over without me moving my leg. Then a jogger came by and jumped over me and kept running!!!
Why? I bought a pair of the Coyotes in 98. 80 psi tire pressure and they work on almost any surface. It was a shame that some sunt broke his ankle on it and his asshole parents sued. They were discontinued then.
Aggressive what? I am 46 years old and have no intention of breaking all my bones! I have a pair of California pro and a pair of Nike air pro for more speed as well as the Coyotes. I do it for fun and recreation. BTW, coyotes on off road are not as easy as they look! They require a very strong control and coordination. I found out the hard way. That was after having rolled for 6 years.
