there are some players that you see tricks and want to try and emulate. you practice, practice, practice and maybe can pull them off. when you see moves that you cannot even work out HOW to do them, then you know they are special!
I don't think he has anything else to prove anymore, greatest striker hands down. And if I were to compare him to C Ronaldo, I'd say I love the Brazilian's style more simply because he plays with guile and his ability to take on numerous defenders. r1 has better finishing and a stronger goals record of approx 0.7 a game in his career. cr can catch up but as he played a right wing in his early career has a massive gap

there are some players that you see tricks and want to try and emulate. you practice, practice, practice and maybe can pull them off. when you see moves that you cannot even work out HOW to do them, then you know they are special!

I don't think he has anything else to prove anymore, greatest striker hands down. And if I were to compare him to C Ronaldo, I'd say I love the Brazilian's style more simply because he plays with guile and his ability to take on numerous defenders. Don't get me wrong, C Ronaldo is a great player but he's more mechanical and how many times have you seen him take on 3 or 4 defenders, STAYS on his feet and take the ball past the goalie and score? That's why... the Brazilian Ronaldo is number 1.

Ronaldo (r1 hereafter) had a slower top speed than cristiano ronaldo (cr), however r1 has a greater acceleration over the first 5 or so metres. strengthwise, r1 has a lower centre of gravity so has greater ability to shrug of defenders on the floor, but cr is stronger in mid air battles for headers.
r1 has better finishing and a stronger goals record of approx 0.7 a game in his career. cr can catch up but as he played a right wing in his early career has a massive gap

i havent seen any footage of c ronaldo ever dribbling through a player.
his skill is premediated (Step overs) - R9's is adaptive and improvisational - actually reacitng to the feet of the people he's geeting past - whcih is why he can succeed.

And when Ronaldo (Brazil) 'ruled' football was probably MORE competetive not less. He played in the Italian league when it was much stronger than now, and the Italian league has alwasy been more defense minded (unlike the English, where CR7 has played most of his career). - it definitely wasn't an easier enivironment for him to play in.

and a big thing for me is attitude. real ronaldo played with a smile on his face whereas cristiano looks to get people sent off, whines to the ref and exaggerates contact.
for me there is no comparison. it may be that cristiano wins more in the end in terms of honours, but real ronaldo is on another level COMPLETELY.

Erm if you're going to argue in favour of Ronaldo de Lima I think YOU should get it right. Type in Ronaldo dribbles and you'll see. Two excellent ones in particular are against Blackburn [3 players] and Tottenham in his earlier times at Manchester United.

Simply he has aaaall the skills required for a great player. Speed, skills, goal scoring and vision. He was destroyed after his severe inury. But even after this injury he brought the world cup to Brazil. He is a legend! if he was not injured i think he was to be the greatest player of all times.
