all the songs about love and you chose this? I don't get it (from a vocal perspective, i know ur personal reasons) It was better than last week for me, but the end was pretty rough, imo. Good luck this week
Well, my reasoning for picking this song (since we actually had a say in what song to pick) was to show the type of music I would want to record as an artist. There was probably one other song I had in mind that could have stretched vocals more....but I chose what I chose. Thank you for your brutal honesty Jimmy.
the video effects are really cool! lol... you always put a lot of thought into making your videos and it really shows. at this point of the competition, you may not be the best vocalist but in my opinion you are the best performer.
Well parts of this were much better than on the phone, but the second half of the song really went downhill - almost like your voice got tired out. The video effects were really cool (though I'm not sure the point of the lighter), but the vocals are ultimately the most important part. Alot was off pitch - again, mostly in the second half. Not really up to some of your past weeks.
Thanks for your critique. I been feeling like I been singing and feeling what I am singing...but I am afraid to let it out and really go for it because I am so afraid to that its perceived as screaming too much...and I try to stifle it...so I kinda see how that second half was not as great.
Also, the meaning I got behind the song as it related to me is realizing the love you had for someone after the fact that they left or gone. In my case, it was my best friend that past away years ago, and the lighter was a symbol of commemorating her.
oh ok - I get it now, and sorry to hear that. I think sometimes you can show more emotion by holding it back than letting it spew, and until you learn how to control your voice when you do get loud you probably want to restrain it more.
I kinda get it about the restraint.....but at the same time, when I feel like I do reign it back too much...it feels too safe and like I am not talking any risks either....like on my phone performances ..and it kinda leaves me real confused whether I do too much or I do too little.
