Yes, timing is critical, but you also need magnetic shielding on rotor magnet. One italian have issued a patent in 2009 with this some motor, im honored as he have solved the gate locking problem. This patent is WO2009110013A1, search on it , freepatents online will help. Thank you mate. Cheers
in another of the videos suggested a bicycle rim with magnets all around where you put the tube on in instead of the rod. Power drills can make a good electric motor of you can get the magnets powerful enough to force the crank shaft or the micro gears added to create faster spin it will generate even more electricity. It was a tip for building simple homemade wind turbines.
Is it possible to have another layer with the exact same design also connected to the main rod, somehow offset so that it would carry the motion through. Or would the two layers just end up fighting against each other?
End up fighting each other, on limit an imediate equilibrium without lock-points but without repulsion-atraction status either. This setup must be changed to be workable, the most promissing technology on permanent magnet motors available are parallel path (flynn).
SImply no one has any clue what this is all about. People are trying trial and error with no knowledge on thermodynamics law and magnetics including this object shown here. What a waste of time and money. These are Hammel and Bedini unworkable idea in 1976, no one make it work since then.
attach a small motor or something to start it up again automaticly when it gets slow and then if can also attach it to a generator and a battery you can probably get some energy out of it
Is it possible to have the same design underneath? Perhaps if you had two of these spinning, but running opposite of each other, then you would see that propulsion increases. I don't know much about this stuff, just a thought.
"Told you it wouldn't work." = moronish... :) people like you are just brave enough to stay static... keep on looking around you is my advice. We're about to develop the most crazy stuff you've ever seen.
Blueskyh2o, you created a full cycle, so you did it! Not a lot of people had the drive to explore this. I'll keep an eye on your developments. Well done!
вес ротора недостаточен!!!! Вот и вся проблема

Nice.
Close to the efficiency of rotating in a vacuum.

the force given when exiting the ring maches the fonce needed to enter the other ring

exactly! The flux field is conservative, but we have mechanical loses by drag and the magic is lost. We must change the setup a little... :)

It's fun to experiment but it will never result in anything usable. Sorry to bust your bubble. Also, Unicorns don't exist.
