Im a Chevy guy but agree that the SS isnt a 'sport' truck. Any extended cab or quad cap shouldnt be in that category in my opinion. The only good sport trucks Chevy made were the 454 SS (during their time in the 90's, not when compared todays trucks) and the Joe Gibbs from 04-06.

i agree with you there, but srt10 can be put on a chevy silverado aswell, its not just reserved for rams, like srt8, its not 1 specific car, itz an improvment on ANY v8 car, chevys are still great cars.
Actually SRT is Street and Racing Technology, which started off as "Team Viper" and "Team Prowler" for the Dodge Viper, and Plymouth Prowler. Any SRT vehicle is made by Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep. your right it is an improvement, but it's only for Chrysler vehicles, the SRT name is owned by Chrysler.
I do like Chevy's but I still think they don't have anything on Dodge, you name any Chevy vehicle, and there is most likely a Dodge that can beat it.

Im only 16 and my Ram (99 5.2 Magnum 4x4) is the only vehicle I've owned, but I still love it. My mom has a 03 SS Monte Carlo, and I love that car too. I'm not blinded and I don't hate everything but Mopars. I would take a SS Silverado over my truck if it was offered. Hell, I'd take your Camaro over my truck, and I'm not that into Sports cars because where I live you pretty much need a 4x4. but I know whats nice and Whats not, not that my truck isnt nice I know that there is plenty thats better

@lajefadecarebear ok The Zr1 is 20K more than the Viper, you can get a Viper for around 80K, the Zr1 is around 100K+ If the ZR1 didn't have a Super Charger, it would be slower than the Viper, you put 20K more into the Motor of the Viper and it will dominate the Zr1 vette. I'm not closed minded, I actually like all American cars, I like Dodge, then Chevy, then Ford.

@bountyhunt3rxx I do not own a Ram with a HEMI, i have an older one with a 318, but I have test drove a Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 5.7 HEMI and it had ALOT more power than a 5.3 Tahoe I drove.

The SRT10 Ram is based off the half ton (Ram 1500) anyway. It's not made for towing. People that buy SRT10 Rams aren't looking to hook up to big gooseneck trailers or go mudding like a bunch of hillbillies.
@moparsrock Diesels aren't meant for speed/racing...they are meant for hauling. Without tuning (chipped) most stock gasoline pickups would be able to beat the diesels. My first truck was a 1995 Ram and I beat a couple Cummins and Powerstroke powered trucks but my truck was A LOT lighter, which is a huge advantage when comparing the two.
@athespen True, but a Diesel pickup isn't anything to laugh at in a race either, even if it is completely stock. I know a lot Turbo Diesel's with a Manual transmissions that would beat their Gasoline counterparts in a race.

1st u wana talk about price lol dont even get started with that cause i got my ls1 camaro for under 10k and i can smoke most dodges worth up to 40k.. also the cts-v's are not that expensive except for the new supercharged model witch is still cheap at 60k considering its competitor is the m5 and the cts-v supercharged took its title of fastes sedan as you can see dodge is no where in these battles. 3rd vipers are expensive as hell there around 100k while a z06 is like 70k and has similar numbers

@lajefadecarebear This all started because I said the SRT Ram is better than the SS silverado, and by God it is by a long Shot. And the Cummins is better than the Duramax. and the HEMI is better than the Vortec.

@lajefadecarebear you do realize that while the ZR1 is supercharged and the Viper isnt right? and the ZR1 wouldnt be Crap without a Super Charger. The Viper isnt around 100K it's more like 80K Also, yeah, your could have got your Camaro for 10K but guess what, it's used, and a few years older than the SRT series of vehicles, so duh! it's gonna be cheaper. as far as you having second thoughts about a SRT Ram, I could care less. I personally wouldnt own a SRT Ram. Im a 4x4 guy.

unlike you hardcore fans that are close minded i would of accepted that fact and yes it is true the srt ram is way faster than the SS silverado and by a long shot to witch is why i like those srt10 trucks but no a zr1 without a supercharger isnt crap man again your hatred over anything but dodge is getting in your way of seeing whats tru the z06 witch is N/A and 8 cylinders not 10 and it runs side by side with a 10 cylinder viper and is cheaper!

Im only 16 and my Ram (99 5.2 Magnum 4x4) is the only vehicle I've owned, but I still love it. My mom has a 03 SS Monte Carlo, and I love that car too. I'm not blinded and I don't hate everything but Mopars. I would take a SS Silverado over my truck if it was offered. Hell, I'd take your Camaro over my truck, and I'm not that into Sports cars because where I live you pretty much need a 4x4. but I know whats nice and Whats not, not that my truck isnt nice I know that there is plenty thats better

again a zr1 without a charger just downgrade to a z06 a z06 cost 70k and has 500hp and does 0-60 in 3.6 seconds and runs side by s ide with a viper now a zr1 is the next step with 0-60 as fast as 3.2 seconds while a viper is 3.5..hmm viper 0-60 is 3.5 while the z06 is 3.6! and a viper cost is in the 90k's dont belive me bro just look it up while a z06 cost 70k u get over 20k to put in mods witch is way more then enough to catch up 0.1 seconds, your 16 man so i dont blame you its ur first car so

you can get a z06 new for around 70k were a viper msrp is in the high 90's like 96-98k's..so dont get it tiwsted chevy dominates the viper with its corvette lineup.... look how ignorant you look so blinded by your hatred for anything thats not mopar that you dont see yourself when you said "SRT ram is better than the SS sivlerado" well guess what for me it is better cause i like speed but for you how can it be better if the SS silverado is 4x4. like i said your being blinded by your hatred

@lajefadecarebear ok The Zr1 is 20K more than the Viper, you can get a Viper for around 80K, the Zr1 is around 100K+ If the ZR1 didn't have a Super Charger, it would be slower than the Viper, you put 20K more into the Motor of the Viper and it will dominate the Zr1 vette. I'm not closed minded, I actually like all American cars, I like Dodge, then Chevy, then Ford.

@lajefadecarebear one a corvette cant touch a viper. 2 the viper is cheapers than the new zr1 corvette. 3 the viper will withstand more than the corvette and last longer. 4 the viper handles and grips the road a whole lot better and makes the corvette look like a dump turck on the track. and 5 gm has never and will never produce the quality and precesion of cars and trucks that mopar does.

@bountyhunt3rxx I do not own a Ram with a HEMI, i have an older one with a 318, but I have test drove a Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 5.7 HEMI and it had ALOT more power than a 5.3 Tahoe I drove.

@scuballs Lol well duh. Any gasoline pickup isn't going to have a towing capacity comparable to a diesel you retard. That's the point of a diesel which is why diesels are in 3/4 ton and up trucks. The SRT10 Ram is based off the half ton (Ram 1500) anyway. It's not made for towing. People that buy SRT10 Rams aren't looking to hook up to big gooseneck trailers or go mudding like a bunch of hillbillies.

@moparsrock Diesels aren't meant for speed/racing...they are meant for hauling. Without tuning (chipped) most stock gasoline pickups would be able to beat the diesels. My first truck was a 1995 Ram and I beat a couple Cummins and Powerstroke powered trucks but my truck was A LOT lighter, which is a huge advantage when comparing the two.

@athespen True, but a Diesel pickup isn't anything to laugh at in a race either, even if it is completely stock. I know a lot Turbo Diesel's with a Manual transmissions that would beat their Gasoline counterparts in a race.
