Maybe try a smaller size curler. My hair is medium length (past my shoulders) and it doesn't curl with a 1 1/4 (or 1 inch, can't tell) curling iron. I use a 3/4 curling iron and my curls are beautiful.

It could be that you do not curl correctly or if you touch them while they're hot, I don't know.

Try use a curling mouse before you curl too, I have pin straight hair and that and hair spray helps me out.

I hope these tips helped!

add some aussie moose in your hair when it's damp and then do the curls while your hair is dry. it worked for me. my hair doesnt like to curl either but it helped me a lot. i hope this comment helps your question.
