The idea that ANY Airsoft toy could be "converted" into a firearm, is beyond ludicrous.
However, importation of an Airsoft toy, without the orange tip, IS a violation of Federal Law, so the Agents were within their rights to seize that shipment. (Despite the resources they stupidly wasted, in doing so.)
It all depends on how the lower receiver and trigger assembly is made and if you could throw on a real upper for it.. If it's like an M16/AR then possibly so. I never shot an airsoft so I don't know how it is but that's the only way I could see them working.. Only the real ones. If it's not like that, then that ATF guy should just stay in his office and keep his ass in that chair.

It looks like the lower (the piece that would have a serial number if it were real) is identical to a real AR15. It may be possible to put some real AR parts in it and then attach the lower to a real AR15 upper. Im just speculating.

In all fairness, you could convert it to a working AR. All you would have to do is replace the upper and lower receiver and the barrel. Granted you would have to pass the background check required for the lower because that is considered a gun, but I mean you could use the grip and maybe the butt-stock on a real rifle. LOL. It all depends on how the lower receiver and trigger assembly is made and if you could throw on a real upper for it.. If it's like an M16/AR then possibly so. I never shot an airsoft so I don't know how it is but that's the only way I could see them working.. Only the real ones. If it's not like that, then that ATF guy should just stay in his office and keep his ass in that chair.

It looks like the lower (the piece that would have a serial number if it were real) is identical to a real AR15. It may be possible to put some real AR parts in it and then attach the lower to a real AR15 upper. Im just speculating.

In all fairness, you could convert it to a working AR. All you would have to do is replace the upper and lower receiver and the barrel. Granted you would have to pass the background check required for the lower because that is considered a gun, but I mean you could use the grip and maybe the butt-stock on a real rifle. LOL. if they could be converted to fire live ammunition then i'd have 50 of them ready to go in the garage. sadly its impossible to do so with what the weapon has to offer. i admit it may be possible but you'd end up replacing more than half the airsoft rifle with real rifle parts you'd have to have mad skills as a machinest and metal worker. by the time the heap of crap is even capable of shooting what u wanted it to it would have been cheaper to just buy a ar-15
