Well at least this version of this advert isn't being accused of being racist coz every other one is! Great remake! It actually looks like a film ad! :)
I think you overdo it with the dog's head writing at the end, makes it too corny. It's funny with the music an the editing, the corny joke at the end makes it less funny
I rather like this. The best of 'these' sort of videos, I think. I can't decide whether or not you've added an effect to the video, or it's just encoded it badly in places...but I think the weird effect adds to the creepiness of it. Well done.
This is true though....When you see a young boy or girl waiting for christmas you know all they want is their presents when will you ever see a young boy give for the sake of it and not bother with his presents.....BRILLIANT Advert
jealousy gets no-one anywhere! Just cause he has made a gr8 advert and is well known and will be in plenty more there is no need to make fun of it. My nephew is a great actor and will go on to make more! Go and get yourselves a life and look in before you look out! Ha Ha.
@MrTobybot Hope your nephew enjoys great success. The original ad is a transparent, horrible, cynical piece of advertising even relative to the typical exploitative Xmas campaigns. It's not the kid's fault that he's in it & the sizeable disdain towards the ad from all those I've spoken to about it (& those on youtube/twitter) seems - quite rightly - to be directed solely at John Lewis. This reworking is a very clever & amusing piece of editing. Clearly, nothing personal against your nephew
@MungoCries For goodness' sake it's an advert for a shop at Christmas (and indeed, a partnership held for the benefit of its employees from the shop workers to the director). Is that really such a disgusting thing? Personally it doesn't fill me with a burning desire to go down to JL, but that's for people to decide when they watch it. I love this edit - I think it's hilarious - but JL doesn't really deserve disdain for it.
@MrTobybot I wish Lewis every success with his acting career. He seems like a lovely and talented boy. This is just a bit of fun and I did it to make people smile. It appears to be having that effect.
@MrTobybot - if you intend your nephew to go into the acting business, make him understand that once he is public property, people will have the right to lampoon his projects. It's fair game.
8,531 is that all ? come on people .... I read about this this in the news paper today and rushed to my computer. Brilliant JL should be thanking you.... I will be passing this on.
I hate this time of year, Christmas shoved down my throat like we all have to be Christian-Christmas-loving people. So I utterly applaud this ad... very well done. :)

Follow-up could be what happened to the rest of the dog. Something to do with the Korean restaurant down the road maybe.

@bjsbristoluk Thanks very much! I'm afraid the weird video effect was indeed the result of bad encoding.
I have another one on the way shortly which should hopefully be better quality!
